//------------------------------// // Chapter 9: 10, 20, 30, Oh Who am I Kidding? // Story: My Journey // by HopeForTheFew //------------------------------// I entered my home and placed my guitar on the table. "Hello again home" I said as I smiled at the beautiful sight before me: my refrigerator. I opened up the fridge and pulled out the last bit of bacon and cheese that was within. I walked over to the stove and noticed that I never cleaned my frying pan. I was not about to cook on something that filthy so I put the food back into the fridge and took the frying pan and grabbed a wet sponge and began to clean the cooking instrument. Upon finishing my cleaning for the cooking instrument I placed it on the stove and started it up. I walked back on over to the fridge where I took the bacon and the cheese out once again. I then walked back over to the stove and placed the bacon in the frying pan. After I had finished cooking the lunch I sat on the table and began to eat the delicious meal. I always loved to wrap the cheese (American) around the bacon. It tasted sooooo good and always will. Once I was finished with the food I stood up and stretched, cracking my back quite loudly while doing so. I then began to walk to the living room to continue my laziness but I stopped when I noticed something rather horrifying. The place was a mess, dishes cluttered the counter the rugs were filthy and my wood floor had boat loads of trash bags that were by the door. I sighed "It's always something else aint it?" I said regretting this day as I had A LOT of work to do. But without spending more time being lazy I walked towards the bags and grabbed a few that I took outside and threw with all my might. I watched the bags as they sailed through the air above the tree lines. When I heard a loud clunk in the distance I nodded my head and went back inside, mumbling to myself. Once I had finished with the work I sat down with a thud and gazed at the beautiful work that I did to the house. The rugs, dishes, windows, mirrors ect. were all clean. Not a spot could be seen. I smiled to myself as I got up from my seat, grabbed my guitar and sat back down again where I began to play a song That I always use to sing when I was young, I played the song quite a few times that day as my smile never left my face. "Welcome back." I said as I slumped back down in my chair and closed my eyes. I wasn't going to go to sleep I was just resting my body from the work. I used to be in quite some shape. But now that the fighting has stopped and I don't have a job I have to deal with my 'slowly gaining wait' kinda body. As I thought about that, fear grew within. The last thing I wanted was to get fat, Ewwwwww is all I could think about that particular subject. And so with that thought in mind, I left the building and began a quick jog towards the field. Luckily for me the distance to the field is mostly flat making my journey not to difficult. I was approaching the creek, I was breathing heavily and my brain was getting light headed. I never knew jogging could where you out this quickly. I sat down on a rock and began to get control of my breathing/heartbeat. This little trip got me outa breathe and I still had to jog all the way back. I sighed and got up, I made it up in my mind that I would not jog that distance again till a day or two had past. I was still breathing very heavily but I didn't listen to my burning lungs, instead I teleported over to the field. I sat down, my head leaning against a tree. I gazed out at the beauty of this small area, but to me it wasn't small, to me it seemed endless. I smiled and closed my eyes to the sound of the wind blowing through the trees and the birds chirping their merry little songs. After awhile the wind began to pick up speed. I opened my eyes and gazed up at the sky, there were clouds forming... dark clouds. Before now I had never been rained on but a little. But this appeared to be a HUGE storm. I got up and teleported out, but right before I teleported the rain started hitting, rather hard. I entered my house and closed the door quickly, being sure not to get any water within the house, but I was unlucky as some of the rain water got within my household. This particular storm was the worst one I have ever seen in my life. It was far worse then any storm I had experienced before, it was so loud, annoying, and made me think that it was going to bring the building down. I sat down on the couch and put my head in my hands and sighed. "Hell of a thing." I said making sure that I groaned and grumbled loudly. I picked my head up, grabbed my guitar and played the hell out of the storm. However this storm would be far worse then I had ever thought to be. I was laying on the couch while listening to the horrible storm that was going on outside. What the hell are the weather teams doing during this, isn't their job to fix this stuff? I thought to myself. But no matter what I did I could not stop the rain, I even got so desperate as to go out and yell at the storm. I could stop Harmony but I cant stop the worlds weather. So without putting anymore thought in the storm, I lade down and tried to go to sleep, but something told me I wasn't going to sleep well that night. ~Twilight~ Twilight had entered the woods quite some time ago but she did not know where the 'Human' lived so she was at a disadvantage to finding the Human. She trotted through the forest without a single clue as to where the human was. But she would not give up, especially since they could learn so much from an alien species. CRACK. Twilight looked up towards the sky only to find dark clouds forging it. She forgot that the weather team in Canterlot was trying to break the record for the strongest rain storm ever recorded. She sighed as she looked back down at the earth. She shook her head and made it up in her mind that nothing would stop her from tracking the human down. So with her head held high, she trotted off. But her head would soon be brought low as the clouds began to groan under the wait of the water they were holding. She continued on her journey to find the human, though her fur properly soaked and her heart failing she still continued without the single thought of leaving for the time being. She kept pressing on through the woods to find the human that she had wasted her entire day on searching for, but none of this bothered her, well not yet anyways. "I should have asked for some help in directions." Twilight said with a sigh, though she knew very well in her heart that she wanted to find the living place for the creature on her own. She kept going through the woods until she heard the distinct sound of music playing off in the distance. It was faint because of all the rain, but it was there. She followed the music for quite some time and finally through all her searching had found the home the creature lived in. She would have actually misjudged it for a pony's home if it weren't for the fact that she looked through the window to identify the human. And It indeed was the Human, playing away at his instrument. The music actually sounded pretty catchy but she could not afford to be distracted by such things as music at a time like this. She was about to open the door to enter the building and begin her interrogation of the human. But when she reached the door knob the music stopped. She rushed back to the window just in time to find the creature turning off the lights and laying down, there on the couch, like a potato. She smiled and cast a long distance teleportation spell to her room in the Canterlot castle. She now knew where the creature lived, and tomorrow would be a day to remember. ~Jesse~ I awoke that morning to the sound of me, falling off the couch and simply saying "Ouch". I got up and stretched, cracking my bones several times in the process. I walked over to a chair and slumped down in it. I put my hands in my head and thought about what I wanted to do today. I made it up in my mind that some more fishing would be good to both my fridge and me. I stood up and approached the fridge but before I made it half way to the kitchen I heard a knock on the door. "Uh, Oh." I said while slowly turning to face the door. I continued to stare at the door while knocks kept on flowing their way into my ears. Finally I made it up in my mind to use my power to open the door. I opened the door from a distance and stared out at the longing face of Twilight Sparkle. "What the hell do you want?" I asked, keeping my distance from the Alicorn princess. "Oh nothing much, just some answers." She said while zipping right past me towards the couch to where she took her seat. "I didn't say you could come in!" I said quite angrily do to the fact that my own home was so easy to penetrate. I was lucky I was still alive. "Oh, right! Sorry about that." She said while teleporting back on the porch. "May I come in?" She asked. I just shook my head and waved my hand for her to proceed to her seat. She pretty much drove me mad with all the questions she asked. This was not the cautious Twilight that I knew before when I was locked up within the castle. This was a always never stop exploring type Twilight, and I hated this kind of Twilight. Finally the questions came to an end. She had gotten her fill of knowledge And of notes. Seriously, I have never seen anyone like this particular pony. I even picked up my pace of talking and she still kept up with me with her notes. By the time we were finished she had gone through three notebooks and the fourth was almost full. She left the building with a content smile on her face. And I shut the door as soon as she had teleported away. She had asked me during the interrogation that she wanted to take another scan of me, of course I said no to this. I would never go through another endeavor like that. I sat down on the couch and rested my weary brain. "Well that gets rid of fishing for the day." I said with a loud sigh. "But that doesn't mean its the end of the day." I said with a smile as I grabbed my guitar and started playing: Puff The Mgaic Dragon. It was also one of my favorite songs to sing when I was a child. Even though whenever my parents caught me singing they would beat me. But that did not stop my love for music. Though I had a strong love for music, I never wanted to make a thing out of it as I mentioned before earlier in this story, I always wanted to be in the Navy.
