//------------------------------// // I decide to train // Story: Going to Equestria // by TheLogoliner //------------------------------// I was walking the path towards Ponyville with my new sword strapped to my back, not making a sound. Once and awhile I would quickly pull it out and swipe at a hanging branch or a large leaf. As I stepped into Ponyville, I looked around to take in the scenery. All of the ponies were going on about there business and sometimes they would look at me and stare at my sword. I made my way over to Twilight's house to show here my new weapon. I would wave at a few passing ponies and they would wave back. I feel like a complete citizen of Ponyville now. The thought put a bigger smile on my face as I continued down the road to Twilight's library. I walked up to the front door and knocked three times. I stood there with me hands crossed and was greeted by Spike. "Oh yeah Wyatt." he said to me. "What's that?" He looked around me and took notice of the sword on my back. "This is my sword that I got from a Blacksmith in Canterlot. Got it this morning." I answered. "Can I see it?" he asked. "Sure." I said and unsheathed the sword. Spike quickly stood back as I lowered it so that he could grab it. Once I let go of the handle he fell over onto his butt. "Oof, it's heavy." he gasped. "Well, you're a bit smaller than it." I laughed as I picked it up with one hand and sheathed it into it's spot. "By the way, where's Twilight?" "Oh, she's not here right now. She left this morning saying she has somewhere to be. She wouldn't tell me though, which is a bit odd." Spike answered. "Oh, well thanks anyway." I said as I began to walk away. "See ya later." Spike yelled waving his hand. I raised my hand up and did one wave. Maybe Rarity would think different about my clothes now. I chuckled at the thought of her gasping about how much my sword matched my clothes. Upon arriving to her shop, I noticed a letter on her front door. It read: Dear valued customers, The shop is closed for the day. Rarity "That's odd." I said to myself as I scratched my head. I quickly looked through the window, but the shop was completely empty. "Damn." I said to myself and moved on. If Twilight and Rarity are gone, that must mean that everyone else in the group is gone. I sighed because now I was bored. I was thinking about asking Spike if maybe we could hang out, but he's probably busy. I sat down at a nearby bench to clear my thoughts. Then it hit me like a snowball in winter. "I can go and practice my sword skills and maybe other skills like archery." I said out loud. This is going to be so awesome. I began my way over to the train station to go to Canterlot. At the end of the trip I stepped off of the train as it made a hissing noise from cooling down. There was no guards like I say at the wedding, so there won't be any problems going to Silver Shield. I made my way to the Royal Guard training grounds. I passed many towers like the ones that hold the Elements of Harmony, the church where we had that crazy wedding. I looked at the church and the tower holding the elements. "Damn, that was a long fly." I said and rubbed my chest, remembering when the changeling queen hit me with that magic blast. I still don't know how I survived it, but just shrugged it off. I walked past the Royal Garden then the main section of Canterlot where the throne room was. I stepped inside and followed to route that Celestia took. When I turned a corner, I noticed a few guards at the doors of the throne room. That was more than normal, and i heard talking coming from behind the doors. I decided I didn't want to cause any trouble and continued to the training grounds. After a half hour of traveling, finally arrived at the training area. It was more empty then before, only a few guards were practicing. I walked up to Silver Shield's stall and knocked on the counter. "Hey Silver Shield." I said. The tan unicorn looked up and smiled. "Hey Wyatt, how are you liking the sword?" he asked cleaning his hooves. "It's great, and thanks by the way for taking the time to make it." I said. "It wasn't easy, I'll give you that." he chuckled. "So, what can I do for you?" "Well, I was wondering if you could train me with sword fighting, and maybe a few other skills." I said. "Sure, I've got nothing else to do. It should be fun." he said walking out of the stall. We took a small spot with swords, spears, bows and arrows, axes, and some pony dummies with targets next to them. "So, which one do you want to do first?" Silver Shield asked. "Well, sword of course." I said and pulled out my sword. "Okay then." he said and picked up a nearby sword. "Just to tell you, I've had some little training back at my home with my friend." I said. "Well let's see how good he was as a teacher." he said. We placed the tips of our swords together like in those sword matches as a sign of respect. We quickly pulled back and he made the first swipe. I easily blocked it and swung my sword at him. He quickly ducked and jumped to the side as I brought my sword down. "Huh, your friend was a good teacher." he said lowering his sword. "Thank you." I said. "Now, let me show you a few good techniques, I'll even teach you some of the one's I made up." he said. "Sweet." I said and began to train. After a few hours of training "Now, anything else?" he asked. We have just finished a bit of training, and I gotta say. He is one good sword fighter. Most of the moves he created are deadly. "Archery I guess." I answered. "Do you want an bow for your own?" he asked. "Hm, why not." I said, now excited that I get a sword and a bow. "Okay, well I'm going to need your strap. I think I'll make a few adjustments to fit in a bow and and arrows." Silver Shield said. "Okay." I handed him my strap with my sword still in it. "Now, I don't know how you guys do it at where ever you come from, but what you want to do is aim with your hoof." he said. "Hand." I corrected. "What?" he asked. "I have a hand, not a hoof." I said. "Oh, okay. What ever." he chuckled. I exhaled and picked up a wooden bow and an arrow. It's a good thing I took camp, other wise I wouldn't have a clue on what I was doing. I pulled the arrow back and listened to the string stretch and the bow beginning to pull back. I slowly took deep breathes as my hand began to steady itself. Once my hand stopped moving and the bow stood still and let go of the arrow and let that thing fly to it's target. I watched as the arrow sore through the air and impaled the target. I wasn't a perfect hit, but is was pretty good. "Well done Wyatt." Silver Shield said clapping his hooves together. "Thanks. I said and placed to arrow bow back from where I got it. "So is that it?" he asked. "I think so." I said. "Okay, well I'm going to get started on your bow then." he said and began to walk back to his stall. "Well, see ya later!" I yelled to him. "You too!" he yelled back. I sighed and watched as the sun begin to lower in the sky. I began to walk back up the stairs and into the main building. When I was nearing a corner, I heard the sound of hooves and a few voices. "I did the only thing I could do and hid behind a large flag the was hanging from the ceiling. The sounds got closer and louder until I knew what it was coming from. It was Twilight and her friends. They had a sad and worried look on their faces. Even Pinkie Pie wasn't bouncing like she usually does. They were talking to each other, but I couldn't understand what they were saying. When they passed, I came out from behind the flag. I got a bit closer to then and only heard one thing that Twilight said. It was, "What are going to do?" "That doesn't sound good." I whispered to myself. I bet you saw this coming Now I ask you for bow and arrow ideas Either place them in the comments or pm to me Hope you liked the chapter
