//------------------------------// // -IV- Let's Fly Free! // Story: I Never got to Say Goodbye // by Jazz //------------------------------// Grandmother nodded and smiled. She left the room to tell me she'd be in her room packing up. I grabbed my suitcase and packed up everything. I quickly scribbled some words on a piece of paper. I still have it saying: Dear Mother and Father, Grandmother and I flew away. Thanks! ♥Autumn. As I put it in the envelope and wrote Mother and Father on top as I latched my suitcase and lifted it with my horn and slid it under my bed. I don't exactly remember why we left, but it just felt right. I flew myself to Grandmother's room. I knocked on the door. She opened it and rushed me in, locking the door behind us. "Tomorrow, Autumn. Tomorrow," she whispered, looking happy. Her tired eyes rested on me. I nodded and laid down in her bed. I needed a hug. She climbed in bed and let me snuggle with her. She put her wing around me and we fell asleep. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The next morning, we woke up fully rested. She woke me up at dawn, signalling it was time to leave. I flew to my room silently and placed the envelope underneath the bottom of the door to my parents' room. I grabbed my suitcase with my magic and followed my grandmother out the window. Out suitcases together were nothing for alicorn magic. We flew for a few hours until breakfast time, when Grandmother dived down to a large wood. It was a nice forest, but my jaw dropped when Grandmother showed me a nice, rich manor. "This was once my palace," she explained to me as I walked in, setting our bags down. "I'll make oatmeal," she finished coolly as if she didn't want to talk about it at the moment, or ever again. She treated my parents like crap compared to me. Once she nodded to a pair of guards guarding the door, We walked inside. It took quite a while for me to take it all in. Instructed to put Grandmother's bags into her room, and pick out a room for myself and place my own bags inside, I chose a large silver room with a blue finsh. As I set my large trunk down on the sliver bed with cotton candy pink pillows, Grandmother called me for breakfast. Would they care if I were gone? "Coming, Grandmother!" I called out as I teleported myself to the large brass cleaned dining room. There were a few plates, but only two of them were full of oatmeal and fruit in small bowls next to the plates. Grandmother ate her food with a large fork as I ate mine with a yellow glow. "How is your breakfast, sweetie?" she said, smiling warmly as she switched her fork for a spoon and dug it into her oatmeal. I nodded in return. "It's good Grandmother. Thank you," I said, smiling. "I believe we are going to the library today, are we not? You need to read some good stories. You can use up a room of the library for yourself, even! Wouldn't that be exciting?" she said. She was probobly more excited then I, but I was really excited about too many other things then a library for myself! And we ate our breakfast with glee and happiness.
