//------------------------------// // My Thoughts Exactly, Season 1: FIM Part 1 // Story: Afraid // by Short Stories 2 //------------------------------// Random Photo Short Description: I got bored Long Description So, I'm not exactly sure how this'll work. I'm honestly bored, right now. So, I figured, why not do this? It's actually been a while since I saw Season 1, I hope it's as good as I remember. Please note that this is NOT a cross-over! It's my own commentary. Also, the chapters are 'out-of-order' because I am going off of this timeline. OK, so, I honestly feel like it's kind of clichéd to start with "Once Upon a Time". It makes it sound like a mom is reading this to her daughter before bed. Wait...what if that was actually happening? Like, Twilight and the rest are all a figment of a 6 or 7 year-old girl's imagination, and the story lines are the books that her mom made for her? Since her mom's an author. Do you really think that, since this show was intentionally meant for little girls, they would know what 'eldest' meant? And 'resentfulness' and 'reluctantly'? I mean, these girls are in 1st or 3rd grade! (Supposedly) The former just learning simple math equations like 2+6 or something. I bet they kept asking their parents or looked up what these words meant. Unless there really smart, then, never-mind this whole paragraph. So, we have, after the reading of the book, a purple unicorn, and it finds out she's been reading it all along. Why does her voice sound kind of like Celestia's when the show starts, but fades into her actual voice when it's about to play the theme? Plus, the theme, it sounds just to girly. Like, if your watching this, on a really good adventure episode, [Like "Somepony to Watch over Me"] and then hear the theme, your probably just like this. "Ugh! Why the theme?! It's to---girlish!!" Then again, the show itself is girlish, so, I don't even know why I'm ranting about this in the first place. After the theme, first-time viewers finally realize that this unicorns name is Twilight. And she supposedly has three friends that she 'ignores' (not actually) just because she wants to find out about the Elements of Harmony. Maybe the Elements of Harmony sound familiar to her because she's one of them, but, she just doesn't know it yet? Oh, and also, I know about Lyra Heartstrings. And it looks like she's with Amethyst Heart (I think that's that pony's name) in Canterlot. Then, we see her all the time in Ponyville, with Bon-Bon as her BFF. Is she on vacation? Did Amethyst dump her because of her weird obsession over humans? Did she hear that Twilight moved to Ponyville, so she decided to move too? What happened? Twilight lives in a castle? Wow, her parents are rich!! Oh! Poor Spike! Then again, he really shouldn't be walking with his eyes closed. But, Twi shouldn't have barged right through. He could've been trying to keep out changelings, for all she knew, and she just ruined their last hope of 'survival'. But, don't worry. Changelings don't come until the end of Season 2. She doesn't even ask if he's OK! he could have a concussion!! I don't care if she's trying to find the Elements of Harmony book or whatever. It wouldn't kill her to be a little more considerate. "Oh, Spike. You know we don't have time for that sort of thing." Actually, you do. You just choose to be that one nerd who has no friends. Who's fault is that? And she also (kind of) assaults her baby dragon by ramming doors in his face and making him face-plant to the floor. Remind me, again, why people like Twiley so much?* Plus, she doesn't even say "Thank you"! And leaves a huge mess for her poor dragon to pick up while she reads. It's not that important, Twilight!! Have any of you noticed that, in the first episode, her aura doesn't show? It's just a bunch of sparkles? Is this an animation error, or, was it meant to be that way? And, if it was meant to be that way, why didn't they keep it like that for the rest of Season 1 onwards? "Elements of Harmony. See 'Mare in The Moon'"? Nice one, book. Making her look harder. Plus, being a total jerk by making her look harder...I have mixed feelings about this book. Wait, why are you reading the 'Mare in the Moon' again? Didn't you just read it before the theme? So, Spike is trying not to fall to his (supposed) death, because no pony is supporting his dragon-weight, but, Twilight isn't paying attention? A+ work, right here, folks!! Supervisor of the year goes to Twilight Sparkle in Season 1, Episode 1!! Oh, wait, never mind, she caught him. But, still. What if she didn't catch him? Spike is a fast writer! I wish I could write that fast. Wait a second...Does Twilight not know how to write? I mean, she is a unicorn. We just saw her use her magic, like, five times already. Why is she not capable of writing to the Princess on her own? Why does Spike have to do it for her...Unless she doesn't know how to write.* Ooo, I saw that Nightmare Moon in the glass! How is the unicorn head Nightmare Moon, though? I thought she was supposed to be in the moon, not in a random unicorn head in Twilight's library. "And bring with her eternal night!" Twilight, you must have short-term memory*, because, I am not even kidding, you just read that whole chapter to us not even 5 minutes ago. (4 minutes and 50 seconds, to be exact) Plus, Celestia probably went through the whole conundrum. I think she knows her sister will return and try to plunge the word in eternal night. Is she doesn't, Well, Celestia, forcing someone into the moon is a good punishment, however, they'll only be 10x madder than they were before when they return. Wait, wait, hold on. "The day after tomorrow is the 1,000th year of the Summer Sun Celebration!" Holy cheese, this pony princess is old! No offense, your majesty, if you happen to be reading this. Again, I doubt a 7-year old will understand words like "imperative". Also, Twilight, ever heard of personal space*? Ooo, magic dragon fire? How does that work? How do they get messages back? Can other dragons do that? Can Celestia write back at all? Whoa! The Princess is a fast writer as well. And the fabulous mentor advice she gives is "make some friends". Can she see the future, like that Greek legend? And her sister is the one who can see in the past...like anypony else? (There called 'memories' for a reason.) Twilight's looking so humble right now...not.* Also, Princess Celestia just said every word that Twilight did. Is she in the same room? was Spike secretly writing for her? Does she have a magic note-taking baby dragon that can send letters as well? Will these questions never stop? By the look on twilight's face, she's trying to figure out how to hurt Celestia. But, boy, does that letter hold irony!! I love Spike's face when he reads 'make some friends'! That was awesome! Twi's reaction was even awesomer*. I also like on how Spike is being optimistic in a situation that Twilight would clearly not like to do at all. Twilight is really determined on this. I think I'm starting to like her...And, she does make good points. Who ever said that the fate of Equestria ever rested on you at all? And, yes, it actually does rest on the fact that you have to make friends. Celestia knows all. Can the 'sirs' talk? That''s the first time in the episode we ever heard a neigh. Pinkie's reaction is amazing. That's why she's my second favorite. It alternates between her and Fluttershy, to be honest. Right now, Fluttershy is my best pony. When Twilight says "Well, that was interesting, all right." I'm not sure if she means it in a bad way or a good way. And, ever wonder where Twi's checklists came from? They came from season one, episode one, at 7:20-7:25. Or maybe they came before that, when we weren't around to see Twi's life? (Because the show wasn't on) Sweet Apple Acres almost sounds like some Strawberry Shortcake thing, when you hear it when Spike announces it in the first episode. I mean, I've heard AJ's farm name plenty of time, and it doesn't remind me of a Strawberry Shortcake thing. but, now that I'm re-watching it, I'm almost expecting to see a pink girl come out of the barn instead of an orange pony about to harvest apples. I wonder if Applejack saw them coming, somehow, so she called out "yee-haw" so the attention would go to her and her awesome bucking skills, instead of her many, many family members. "Friiendds?" I bet Twilight would've said that she wasn't looking for friends, but, she was trying to be polite, or maybe she was shocked from Applejack's strength. I mean, the pony can shake Twi's hoof, and Twi's whole body is vibrating, as if Applejack could lift her off the ground within two seconds, and she was trying her hardest to stay on the earth. It's funny on how all the Apple family's names match up to the food they bring, isn't it? I feel like she took a deep breath because it was to symbolize that big Mac, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith were all there and they were the ones who were going to stay there. Apple Bloom's face will always get her what she wants. Except her cutie mark. (Was that to mean? I'm sorry, Applebloom.) So, a cute filly face isn't enough for twilight, but 22+ (yes, I counted) ponies disappointed "aw"'s are? I love the music the have. Twilight, if you feel like your gettin full, it's polite to say "I'm getting kind of full". I think the ponies would understand. And, thank you, Captain Obvious, for pointing that out. I think we can all see there's no Rainbow-maned pony clearing the sky. But, there is a Rainbow-maned pony clearing Twilight...I literally just un-paused and saw that, then I had to write it down. Awkward...at least she's trying to help, and at least she's being nice, too. Oh, well, never-mind. Not very nice to laugh at others, no matter how ridiculous they look, now, is it? Oh, Spike's joining in too. That's one strike against him, for this chapter. But, Rainbow just threw Spike off. I think she would've noticed, or felt, a light object on her back. I say 'light' because she easily tossed him off like a sack of flour. And I thought she was going to be nice! Although, I do like on how Rainbow procrastinates on her 'chores'. She's like most humans!! "Just as soon as I'm done practicing." "Practicing for what?" 'Practicing to ignore you so you'll go away*.' Is what I first thought. Because she was laying on the cloud, so, I would've never guessed practicing for the Wondercolts. When Twilight said "They'd never accept a pegasus who couldn't keep the sky clear fro one measly day!?" with a tone of sarcasm, even though it's some sort of method to get Rainbow to do her job, it's still a bit rude for her to be 'doubting' a pegasus she just met. Halfway point! Oh, Twilight, don't bet on the fact that Rainbow' can't clear the sky in 10 seconds. Your going to lose all your bits if you bet on the fact that Rainbow' can't clear the sky in 10 seconds. Trust me. Well, she just cleared the sky in that area. What about the rest of Ponyville? Unless the Summer Sun Celebration is going to be held there and nowhere else. Twilight looks like a sheep, kind of. Curly, messed-up mane, huger (than normal) eyes, if you took away the horn, I would think she was a sheep for that shot. Two promised friends, in their minds. Twilight, I think your going to have friends whether you like it or not. No offense. See, Spike's kind of nice. When Twilight started walking away, he calls back "Wait, it's kind of pretty once you get used to it!" Rarity isn't really as nice**. I mean, she could have a smaller reaction. Not a Pinkie-reaction, where it's over exaggerated, (See, I'm making fun of my second favorite pony!) she could have a small reaction, then fix Twi's hair with her unicorn-magic. Then again, Twilight could've fixed her hair before they walked in. She's supposed to be really good with magic, right? Fixing her mane wouldn't take long at all, right? Twilight is about to be forced into something she really doesn't want to do, and Spike is just not doing anything. He's just in love with Rarity, not helping at all. Spike, this is where you could help and get brownie points. Maybe, if you did help, Twilight would let you visit Rarity's again. Did she say "We'll be the best of friends for a while!" Well, Rarity, that's reassuring. Hey, Twily, why don't you tell her you know the Princess? That'll make Rarity even more of a 'friend'. Most mares, especially fillies, would love to have their coat dyed a new color. Or, is that just girls in the real world? (Poor Spike is love-struck) Yay! Fluttershy! She's adorable***! Also, she's really nice and can talk to animals. That's what made her my best pony, and another thing that's coming up. Twilight, if your not interested in making friends, why do you ask Fluttershy what her name is? That's one of the signs that says 'I'd like to be friends with you.' I feel sorry for Fluttershy, but, it's also adorable. like, when she squeaks out her name. I think Twilight should know that she doesn't want to talk right now. Also, where's Spike? I mean, I know he's behind a bush, but, why is he there? He went to the other places with Twilight and not really helping or hurting anything. So, why did Twilight have him stay behind? So, yeah, I know Fluttershy is technically friends with Twilight because she has a baby dragon, kind of like Rarity. And that is a flaw I will not overlook. I kind of wanted to hear Spike's 'whole entire life'. To bad they cut it out. Maybe they'll elaborate on it more in another episode, hopefully? "Do you want to hear about today?" "Oh, yes, please!" "Today, Twilight smacked me in the face with a door and forced me to fall on my face off of a high ladder." Well, that's one way to lose a friend. Fluttershy really is a ninja! Twilight just closed the door on her, and she appeared inside the library within a minute!! How is that possible, you ask? Flutter-physics. Also, ninjas. Twi, don't you think the ponies heard that? Also, how did you walk in without bumping in to anypony. How did Pinkie know you were staying there? Did she stalk you, or, did she naturally assume that you may or may not be heading towards the library due to your appearance of being a supposed book-horse? I think Twi's getting tired just listening to Pinkie blab on. Then again, Twi's kind of a jerk in the first episode*, and, Pinkie's just excited. Then again, Pinkie's alwaysexcited... Why is she pouring and drinking hot sauce? Is she cray? Plus, why not use her horn? We've seen before that she could levitate things, so, why isn't she levitating that hot sauce with her horn? (Since she likes hot sauce) I'm not even joking, Fluttershy somehow broke into Twi's house. What if Twi didn't have a party waiting for her, and she was studying about Nightmare Moon, and Fluttershy broke in? That would be adorable***! Fluttershy would be like, "Oh, I'm sorry. "I'll just come back later..." When AJ said "Are you alright, sugar cube?" It didn't sound like AJ. It sounded like anypony in the main cast but AJ! Audio error!! Either that, or, my ears are off. "Aww, she's so happy, she's crying!" She's also bursting into flames, Pinkie. Well, her mane is. Everybody realized Pinkie would be the cray one right after she popped the hot-sauce covered cupcake in her mouth, along with the wrapper. (She didn't unwrap it!!) Want to learn about the elements of Harmony, Twi? Here's a hint: MEET THE PONIES THAT YOU VISITED EARLIER TODAY! Get to know them better! I'm not even joking, those ponies are the Elements, Twi. Why are you repeating the legend to us for the third time? We already know. So, is the Summer Sun Celebration like a New Years for them? Because anypony can go out just before Celestia does to watch the sun rise. Usually, if everypony has to watch the sun rise, it's because of a big, important shindig. Like new years, or New years eve. Why is the hall quiet? You'd expect everypony to be chatting. Yay! Fluttershy! You did a marvelous job training those birds, Fluttershy!*** Everypony but Twi is cheering? Wow, she really is up tight in the first episode.* Wait, no, this is the start of Summer in Ponyville. Why does everypony have to watch it then? What if your really tired? I wouldn't watch it, I would just be sleeping, to be perfectly honest. Oh, the mare disapeered. That's freaky. Birds make trumpet noises? OK, then. And, of course Celestia isn't there. She's out eating cake at Sugar Cube Corner. "She's gone!" Thanks, Captain obvious. Everypony can see that, Rarity. Yeah, I know. Blue fog is never good. It can suffocate you and damage the environment. Plus, it just may be the evil spirit of Nightmare Moon. Or her mane, the blue fog could be her mane. Still, watch out. Poor Spike! He's been through a lot today, then he faints. Well, Twi was right about one thing. "See? He's so sweepy-weepy that he can't even keep his bawance!" Whoa! Just a minute!! Apple Bloom, Sweetie belle, and Scootaloo are all together before the CMC ever met?! What, is this foreshadowing? Did they decide to huddle together to create intensity and more adorableness into the show?! U think it was foreshadowing, but,the world may never know... Poor AJ has to take care of two ponies. One wants to bite Nightmare's head off, the other is annoying her. AJ seemed happy to slam that apple into Pinkie's mouth. So nice, AJ, so nice. STOP TERRORIZING FLUTTERSHY! She did nothing to you! She probably didn't even know you existed! How in eternal night bad? Can someone tell me? I don't see it as horrible, so, why is it bad? To be continued? Ooo, will Nightmare Moon plunge Ponyville into eternal night? I guess I'll have to watch part two!!
