A Royal Outburst

The Outburst

As Celestia walked into her room, she was stopped by a guard.

"Princess, before you relax, we have an important business meeting with Fillydelfia's top companies, four ambassadors, and a citizen of Canterlot would like to address a public matter of the town square."

"I see, I'll be there in a few minutes.", Celestia replied.

The guard nodded, then hurried out of the room, assuming his place next to the door. Celestia closed it, she didn't want to see the two guards outside her door. Not at all. She wished that the art decor would just go away with the sight of the guards.

"Sister, are you alright?"

"Never better."

"But you don't look good, mentally. Physically, you are not sick or weak. But you look like you are tired of something."

"I am. The meetings, the guards, even the castle. I don't know what to do without worrying my subjects.", Celestia hung her head.

"Sister, why don't you try be more assertive?", Luna suggested.

"I-I can't."

"Celestia, you own this kingdom, you are it's goddess of the sun! No one can question you! No one can refuse to take your answers of 'no!'"

"You're...You're right. But I can't, I just can't."

"Then let me help. Allow me to use a spell?"

"Sure."

Luna's horn glowed and the spell which need be cast took place, and effect.

"Now, try being more assertive."

"Why would I? I'm assertive enough."

"Good enough to me. Now, you've got several meetings to go to."

As Celestia stepped into the meeting room, the ambassadors all turned to her with respect, but it didn't fix what they were to say next.

"You're late. The meeting was supposed ot start an hour ago.", a mare ambassador said.

Celestia indeed was supposed to be there an hour ago, a few steps from her own bedroom, she passed right in front of the door without a care, traversing the castle without as much as a bit of care for the meeting. In fact, on her back, perfectly balanced, was a covered tray filled with treats. Levitating it onto the table, she sat in her seat.

"First order of business.", Celestia gave the permission to start.

"We need you to acce-"

"Excuse me? You need me to accept something? I choose whether or not I need to accept anything!"

"C-celestia! My word, what has gotten into you?"

"Common sense, that's what, maybe you should try it some time."

"Celestia, this behavior is unacceptable!"

"Unacceptable?! You're talking to the one alicorn in existence to have run the entire kingdom, and raised the sun and moon, and managed the changing of the seasons for one thousand years! You have no right to tell me MY behavior is unacceptable when you are demanding me to do things for you!", Celestia rebounded.

The ambassadors were all quiet.

"Reword your questions and announcements. If a single one says, 'Celestia, we need you to blah blah blah', I will throw you out of this castle faster than a bowl of soup hits the ground!"

The four unicorns all took out their papers, looking through them hurriedly and rewriting their proposals.

"Celestia.", the gray mare started.

"Speak."

"We need supplies for the upcoming events of the Olympian Games, would you care to give us the supplies?"

"Price?"

"Price? What?"

"Every thing in this world isn't free, Ambassador Greek Script. Name a price and I will decide."

"Uhm...three hundred thousand bits?"

"I would have gone with, 'not a single bit', but if you wish to pay three hundred thousand, that is fine by me. Consider it accepted. We are on agreeable terms."

This caused a bit of chatter between the four. New ideas, new campaigns, new things began surfacing.

"I haven't all day, I have several more meetings."

"Celestia.", the blue stallion started.

"Speak."

"We are at a loss of good terms with the border nations, and could use some assistance. Would you care to take time out of your busy schedule to solve this issue?"

"That's much better. Yes, since you asked so respectfully and nicely. Though, it doesn't mean something may replace it. Though I will see to it that I can, should nothing more important come up."

"Thank you."

"Celestia.", the yellow mare started.

"Speak."

"There is a...problem with the current trading system with the nearby eastern kingdom, would you mind solving the issue?"

"I do not have the time to fix the issue, alone or with others. I have more important business, but. I will see to it that an accountant or two get to work on it as soon as possible."

"You are too kind."

"Celestia.", the last ambassador started.

"Speak."

"As an owner of several companies and managing the southern district of Equestria, I have much business to attend to, but I must request that I have a group of subordinates to assist me in this management."

"I see your point. The southern district of Equestria is the largest since the great expansion three hundred years ago. Consider it approved, you may call upon three of my best in the subject."

"Thank you."

"Is that it?"

They all nodded.

"Then dismissed. Thank you for your cooperation."

All except Celestia left the room, who removed the lid to the sweets tray and looked over her self selected set of pastries. In the center sat a miniature cloud cake, untouched and iced over twice with pure sugar frosting. The sight of it made Celestia want it even more.

"Go ahead and send in the company owners in a few minutes."

Looking at herself in a perspective view, she was fine with being a little more assertive. Or...it seemed she had changed a lot more, adding anger to the bigger part of her life. She wasn't sure completely if it was a good idea, but satisfying meetings, and cloud cake, seemed a better idea than anything at the current moment.

"Life is good! But not as good as cloud cake when you are dogged by ambassadors, 'concerned' citizens, and business ponies. Pfft. I wish I had the ability to take a day off every now and then.", Celestia said to herself, taking a bite of the cloud cake.
