//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: Two Worlds, One Love // by Sweet_Harmony //------------------------------// Long, long ago, in the land of Equestria, the Day World and the Night World were once united in peace and harmony. They were connected by many things, but they were very close because of their styles of entertainment. Each world had their own prostigeous, elite flight groups. The Day had the Wonderbolts, and the Night, the Shadowbolts. On holidays and special events, the two harmonious groups would come together and put on brilliant shows full of beautiful flight patterns, enlightening music and singing, and energetic dancing. Queen Celestia, ruler of the Day World, and Queen Luna, ruler of the Night World, shared a deep, sisterly bond. That bond was what helped reassure their people that everyone was capable of living in harmony. But not everyone was happy with it. Two people, one from the Day and one from the Night, were disgusted with the philosophy of friendship and harmony between the two worlds. They wanted the people to be with their own kind only. On the day before a glorious event called the Summer Sun Celebration, the two people went to their respective queens to stir up a bit of conflict, telling them lies about one ruler planning to attack on the other. Feeling hurt and betrayed through the lie, the two queens stopped the preparations for the celebration and confronted each other, both throwing accusations and insults at each other. Meanwhile, the two troublesome people who started this mess spread rumors throughout the lands, telling people about the conflict between the queens, and that war would soon come. The people were frightened, but soon, that fear turned into anger. The two worlds then clashed in hatred and war, the once harmonious world torn apart by one lie. The fragile era of peace had shattered. Thinking that the other queen had caused this horrifying war, Celestia and Luna, the once-sisterly best of friends, turned on one another, clashing in a great battle that destroyed the entire border separating the world territories. When the rulers and their people came to an impass, they ceased fire. Knowing the need to stop the war from going any further, Celestia offered Luna two options - that they sit down and find out what was really going on between them, or create a large wall made out of forestry and thick with beasts and danger to cover the border to ensure that no connections were made between the worlds ever again. Still lost in her anger and grief, Luna chose the latter, not disappointing Celestia in the least, for she too was still thrashing out in fury on the inside. After gathering everything that belonged to their respective worlds, the two queens created the tall, large wall of thick forestry and danger to separate their worlds from one another. They named this area the Everfree Forest. It was soon forbidden that the worlds should ever have contact, and anyone to do so would be greatly punished. The centuries passed, and so did the queens. Generations of rulers never tried to change the law of forbidden contact. The hatred and hostility between the worlds became stronger throughout the years. Each world told and taught its people the popular rumors that were thought to be true. The Day World told its people that the Night contained dangerous creatures that would hide in the shadows and wait for the right moment to attack if you ever stepped foot in its territory. The Night taught its people that the Day trained ruthless and merciless warriors that wouldn't hesitate to burn you alive. None of these things were true. The Wonderbolts and Shadowbolts carried the most bitterness and hatred, which made the tension between the two worlds thicker. Over the years, the two teams developed into more than just entertainment groups. They had separate teams for the police, the Royal Guards, and contained private military training. They became the main source of protection in their worlds, as well as entertainment. Everyone relied on them to make sure their worlds were safe and secure, and to take their minds off of things as they continued to amaze the crowds with their shows. Time dragged on, and life was tense, but in a way, peaceful. There were, however, a few big-dreamers. The law had said that no one could have contact with the other world. It never said people couldn't dream and wonder about it. Many people on both sides of the Everfree dreamed of the day when the worlds would come together in peace again. And it was very ironic that the current queens of both worlds wondered the most. King Dawning Skies and Queen Golden Sunset were the current rulers of the Day World. King Dark Moon and Queen Indigo Evening were the current rulers of the Night World. The queens were peace-lookers. They despised the growing hatred passing between the worlds for as long as they could remember. They both had curiosities, wondering if the rumors were true or not. The women wanted so badly to see what was on the other side of the Everfree Forest, desperate to know the truth. But duties, responsibilities, and the fear of being caught kept them from trying. Soon, both pairs of rulers were blessed with children. Dawning Skies and Golden Sunset had a son, and the daughter of Dark Moon and Indigo Evening followed a year after. The colors of the children were what surprised them. The Day prince had dark blue hair, a Night World color, and the Night princess had vibrant rainbow hair with cyan-blue wings, both colors mostly seen in the Day World. But the parents loved them at first sight, no matter what. The boy was named Soarin and the girl was named Rainbow Dash. The young infants grew up to be wild and adventurous, curiosity always killing their cats. The first thing they were told and taught to do was to avoid the Everfree Forest at all costs. The parents found it difficult to do so, since the little rascals were very nosy and rarely ever listened. They usually had their family weekend get-togethers in glades close by the Everfree, the only private places away from the public, so that made the struggle ten times worse. But one day, their curiosity got the better of them, and the little prince and princess snuck out into the Everfree. Little do they know that something amazing is about to happen . . .
