Chapter 3
As Octavia and Vinyl headed for the door Octavia had a bad feeling, it was like she was dreaming. When they walked out of the schoolhouse, Octavia didn't see any sign of the two bullies. She thought she was home safe. She was dead wrong. The two bullies jumped out of a bush and stood before Vinyl and Octavia. Octavia hid behind Vinyl. They had a long standoff before somepony said anything.
“Well, well, well, look who we have here. A couple of ponies who don't know their places, I say that we teach them a lesson about staying where they belong.” The light yellow filly said to the light green.
“It appears you’re right, but let’s get the blue, frizzy hair troublemaker to know her place, then the
baby.”The light green mare told the yellow one as she got ready to jump on her.
“Vinyl, they’re going to beat us up, what are we going to do?” Octavia told Vinyl as she tried to fight off tears.
“Don't worry Octavia, I’ll protect you, the reason why I had to move last time was because of fillies like them.” She told Octavia with a smile on her face. As the Vinyl and the green filly got ready to fight, Vinyl and Octavia didn't notice that the light yellow filly was going around both of them. Vinyl started walking slowly toward the light green filly and as soon as Vinyl had gotten a good distance away from Octavia the light green filly yelled out.
“Grab her hooves!”
As the light yellow filly grabbed Vinyl's hind hooves and pinned her on her stomach, the light green filly grabbed Octavia and threw her down on her back. She then got on top of her and started to hit her face. All Octavia felt was pain and a wet liquid rundown her face and cheek. Octavia was trying to kick and scream but to no avail, the darkness was taking her and her best friend was going to be next. But before the darkness took over her, with a blur she saw Vinyl headbutt the light green filly in the face, making her cry out in pain. That was the last thing Octavia heard before going under.
A couple minutes went by and Octavia was coming to every now and then, all she heard was a ringing in her ears. Octavia could not feel a thing, it seemed like it was a dream, the kind in which you are completely numb. She blacked out again and she had a dream.
Her dream made her kind of happy and it was a very long dream, a weird experience. Everypony was looking at her and saying “hi” or “hello” but she had never seen them before, it was like she had traveled to a whole new town. They were very nice and polite to her, and all the fillies were very friendly too. There was a party going on and she was invited to it. It felt great to have so many ponies wanting to be with her. All of them wanted her to play her songs and everypony loved it. But soon enough the dream ended and she was back.
As she woke it was a beautiful morning. She saw that she was in a hospital but her head kind of hurt. She saw Vinyl right next to her bedside, fast asleep. She didn’t want to wake her up but she noticed that the area that her head was on was soaked. Her best friend had been crying for a long time because of her. Octavia greeted Vinyl with a big smile on her face.
“Good morning sunshine.”
As Vinyl put her hoof over her face she moaned.
“I don't wanna wake up if Octavia...Octavia?!” Vinyl's eyes shot open and slowly looked up at her best friend. Octavia was staring right back into Vinyl’s eyes.
“Oh my gosh! Octavia, you’re awake! I can't believe it!” As Vinyl jumped on Octavia and gave her a crushing hug.
“I thought that you were never going to wake up from your sleep, I cried so much!” She told Octavia.
“What happened? I don't remember anything.” She asked Vinyl as she felt that her head was now bandaged up.
“It was torture how they made me watch her friend beat you to a bloody pulp, I finally got out and hit the filly holding me down.” Vinyl explained.
“What happened to the filly that was beating me?” Octavia asked, her face in shock.
“I headbutted her in her face, luckily my horn didn't touch her although she deserves worse.” Vinyl said as she started to get teary eyed and began to cry, she exclaimed.
“When we got to the hospital the doctors said that you might die, you had lost that much blood. I was so worried that I might have lost my best friend forever!” As Octavia put a hoof on her, she looked up and gave her a big smile.
“Vinyl I'm not going to anywhere as long as I live.” Octavia promised Vinyl.
“Promise?”
“I cross my heart, and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” Octavia promised Vinyl. They both laughed at what Octavia had said because they knew that they would always be together through thick and thin no matter what. They spent the whole day together but they really could not go anywhere. So they spent it playing card games and board games until Vinyl had to leave, it was a sad time for both of them. But Vinyl knew she would be back to take care of her new best friend. As Vinyl left, Octavia's mother and father came in. They had just got off of work and wanted so go see how their little filly was doing. When Vinyl reached the front desk she over heard the two ponies gossiping over what had happened to Octavia.
“Did you hear what happened to the poor dear? Some bullies beat her up.” One of them said as Vinyl stopped to listen.
“Yes I did, they should really watch more carefully to make sure that this sort of thing will never happen again!” The other pony said as she popped her bubblegum.
“I also heard that the poor little dear might die over night cause of her condition.” As soon as Vinyl heard that her heart sank, she did not what her best friend to leave her. Vinyl walked home and tried to not think about her friend dying. When she got home she did not eat or sleep, she was too worried about her friend. But she had a plain. She would go there early in the morning and visit her to make sure that she was not dead. After countless hours planning she finally had everything planed out.
“Alright it's settled tomorrow I will go there before school starts, that way I can see for myself that she is not dead in the morning!” As she dosed off she thought of a wonderful idea, she would be Octavia's teacher while she's out of school. It was a wonderful idea for a wonderful friend.
