It was a new day, James and Luna were on their way to Rustboro City So Luna could challenge the gym right now they were on their way to Petalburg City. Suddenly they heard something in the bushes beside the road and out came a Pokémon and it was hurt and scared. Luna did not know what it was but it James did.
"A Riolu. Weird to see one her in Hoenn."
Luna used her Pokedex.
Riolu the Emanation Pokémon. It has the peculiar power of begin able to see emotions such as joy and rage in form of waves.
"Where did that pathetic thing go?"
Riolu was even more scared and hid behind one of Luna's legs. Out of the woods came a man with red hair, he wore a black jacket with red stripes and bright blue pants. He stopped when he saw James.
"You."
"Hello Zack, it's been a long time. I see that you still treat Pokémon with violence, how you are still a trainer I don't understand."
"Whatever. That Riolu belongs to me." James look at Riolu.
"It does look like he dont want to be with you."
"I do not care, get out of the way."
"No." Zack took out a Poké Ball.
"Okay, then we do it the hard way. Go Ursaring."
Luna checked her Pokedex.
Ursaring the Hibernator Pokémon and the evolved form of Teddiursa. Although is is a good climber, it prefers to snap trees with its forelegs and eat fallen berries.
"Luna, let me handle this. Let's go Lucario." A new Pokémon appeared.
Lucario the Aura Pokémon and the evolved form of Riolu. A well-trained one can sense auras to identify and take the feelings of creatures over half a mile away.
"Ursaring use slash."
"Mach punch."
Lucario disappeared, suddenly he appeared in front of Ursaring. Lucario struck Ursaring so hard that he fainted. Luna could not believe what she saw, Lucario struck out Ursaring with one blow.
"You never learn Zack, when you treat your Pokémon with violence you will always lose."
"Just keep it, I do not care about weak Pokémon." He just disappeared into the woods.
"Idiot."
Luna was astounded by what she just saw, she had never thought that James was that strong. She came out of it when James waved a hand in front of her face.
"You okay there Luna?"
"That was incredible, you beat him with one attack."
"Well, I've had Lucario here for a very long time."
"Ok, but how was that boy?"
"That was Zack, I encounter him while I was in Johto. He cares only about strong Pokémon, you must treat them with love and care not with violence. Let's help the little guy here."
James took out a Oran berrie and tried to give it to Riolu, but it did not work because it was still afraid.
"OK, I think he's afraid of me her Luna you can try." He gave Luna the berrie.
"Do you think he will take it from me?"
"Riolu hid behind you for a reason so yeah I think so."
She took the berrie from James and tried to give it to Riolu but he was still a little nervous.
She smiled at him. "If you eat this you will fell better." He look at Luna then at the berrie, he took it and began to eat it. When he was finished he looked at Luna and smiled
"I think that he want to come whit you."
"Do you think so?" She took out a Poké Ball and Riolu disappeared into it.
"Congradulations Luna, you just got a Riolu."
And whit that they walk towards Petalburg City. When they arrived, Luna was surprised how big the city was.
"This is a big city."
"Well, Petalburg is the second largest city in Hoenn."
When they arrive at the Pokémon center they saw a man flirting with Nurse Joy. The man has brown pants, orange t-shirt and a green vest.
"Nurse Joy will you go out with me?"
"Sorry, but I have a lot to do."
James just shake his head. "He never learns, excuse me for a moment Luna." He walked over to the man and took him by one his ears and drag him over to where Luna was.
"After so long you still have not learned anything."
"Ouch, careful with my ear." James let go of his ear. "What is the meaning of this? James?"
"It's been a long time Brock."
"About 4 year I think. What are you doing here? I saw what happened six months ago."
"I'd rather not talk about it, I'm here because I'm helping Luna with her Pokémon journey."
Brock looked at Luna and smiled.
"Nice to meet you Luna, my name is Brock and I'm a Pokémon doctor. Well, I trying to become one."
"What is a Pokémon doctor?"
"Can we find a place to sit first?"
"Luna, you can hand Rioul over to Nurse Joy while I and Brock find a place to sit."
Luna went to Nurse Joy whit Rilou's Poké Ball while the boys found a cubicle. After Luna's got Riilu back she went over to where the boys was.
"A Pokémon doctor is the same as a regular doctor but I tend Pokémon, right now I'm on a vacation."
James just rolled his eyes. "And I guess that includes flirting with every girl you see, it's strange that you did not bring with you Croagunk."
"Not funny James."
Luna did not understand what they were talking about. "Croagunk?"
"Croagunk is a Pokémon he caught in Sinnoh and every time Brock was flirting with a woman Croagunk appeared and used Poison Jab on him. It was incredibly funny every time."
"It was NOT funny."
James started laughing while Luna wondered whether they were serious or not. She was taken out of her thoughts by Brock.
"So Luna, are challenging the Pokémon league?"
"Yes, I thought it might be fun."
"That's good, you have to remember to have fun on your journey. Can you stop laughing James?"
Both looked at James who held his stomach. "I'm good." He wiped away tears from his eyes. "Anyway, I thought we could go to the park so Luna could get more battle experience. What do you think Luna?"
"Sure."
And with that they went to the park. When they arrived, they saw many people who had Pokémon battles. Brock was the first to say something.
"Her are there many who engage in battles."
"Well, Well. Look who we have here."
Everyone looked in the direction the voice came from, and there stood the girl from Oldale Town. She looked at Luna
"I thought you had given up already."
"What do you want?"
"I challenge you to a battle, we use three Pokémon each. Do you accept my challenge?"
"Let's do it."
Luna and the girl stood a few meters apart and James stood in the middle again.
"This is a 3 on 3 battle Luna vs. uh," He look at the girl. "What is your name?"
"Sunset Shimmer."
When Luna heard that, she was shocked. 'What' James noticed that.
"Ok, vs Sunset Shimmer. If both are ready." Both nodded their heads. "Begin."
Sunset was first.
"Go, Fletchling." Out came a small bird.
Luna took out the Pokedex.
Fletchling the Tiny Robin Pokémon. These friendly Pokémon send signals to one another with beautiful chirps and tail-feather movements.
"Come out Poochyena."
"Fletchling use quick attack"
"Dodge it." But Poochyena was not fast enough. He slipped back slightly.
"Use tackle Poochyena." It was a direct hit.
"Don't give Fletchling use peck."
""Dodge it." This time, he was quick enough. He barely got away.
"Use tackle again." Poochyena hit Fletchling hard and it past out.
"Fletchling is not able to fight anymore, Poochyena is the winner."
This did not Sunset liked. "You got lucky. Let's go Torchic."
Torchic the Chick Pokémon. Torchic has a place inside its body where it keeps its flame. Give it a hug-it will be glowing with warmth. This Pokémon is covered all over by a fluffy coat of down.
"Poochyena used sand attack."
"Quickly Torchic close your eyes and then use ember."
Torchic closed his eyes and then he open his mouth and fire came out of it and hit Poochyena.
"Are you ok Poochyena." But before he could answer he was surrounded in flames. "What is happening?"
"That's burn, It damages the one being affected." Brock explained to her.
"Finish it with peck." Poochyena was hit whit flurry of pecks knocking him out.
"Poochyena is unable to battle, Torchic is the winner."
Sunset just smiled.
"Your turn Marill." When Sunset saw that, she became a little nervous. "Use bubble beam."
Bubbles came out of Marill mouth and they hit Torchic hard, he tried to stay on his feet but fainted.
"Torchic is unable to battle, Marill is the winner."
Sunset became angry. "I refuse to lose, let's go Magnemite."
Magnemite the Magnet Pokémon. Magnemite floats in the air by emitting electromagnetic waves from the units at its sides. These waves block gravity. This Pokémon becomes incapable of flight if its internal electrical supply is depleted.
'Electric, that's not good but I refuse to lose.' "Marill use water gun."
"I don't think so, use thunder shock." Bolts of electricity came out of Magnemite and hit Marill, she fainted right away.
"Marill is unable to battle, Magnemite is the winner."
"Just give up Luna, you can't win."
"I still have one Pokémon left, your turn Riolu." When Riolu came out of the Poké Ball he became very nervous.
"Luna are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Don't worry James, I have faith in Riolu." When Riolu heard that he was not nervous anymore. "Use force palm."
Riolu hit Magnemite whit his palm, it did great damage but Magnemite was not out yet.
"Use force palm again."
"Not this time, use supersonic." Suddenly, Riolu became confused.
"Riolu, are you ok?"
"Not after this, tackle." Magnemite hit Riolu hard. "Finish it with thunder shock." More bolts of electricity hit Riolu and he fainted.
"Riolu is unable to battle, Magnemite is the winner. That means Sunset Shimmer is the winner."
Sunset called Magnemite back and went to Luna.
"I told you could not win, see you around loser."
She went out of the park while Luna just stood there, she could not believe what happened.
"I lost."
