//------------------------------// // Chapter 7: Me And My Guitar // Story: My Journey // by HopeForTheFew //------------------------------// I awoke with a want in my heart to go out to that field once again. Of course I wouldn't make the same mistake that I had before about letting the fish go, along with the daylight. So I got up went to the bathroom, took a shower, got breakfast, and headed out the door. But before I left I remembered something that I wanted to do. So I grabbed my guitar and then headed out the door. Once out the door I then walked to where the field was located. Of course I could have teleported and saved a couple hours but it was early in the day and my heart was merry. So I decided to take the scenic rout. ~Celestia~ "Sergeant." Celestia said. "I want you and your best ponies to go out and locate where the creature is and if it leaves its home, follow it, but do not engage. I want to know the creatures hobbies and what it does when it is alone." She said. "Yes your majesty." The sergeant said with a low bow and then headed out the door. Once the pony was gone Luna spoke to Celestia. "Wouldn't it be easier if we just kill the beast? I hate the thing" Luna said with disgust in her voice. "If you want it dead then why don't you go out and kill it yourself?" Celestia asked. "Maybe I will." Luna responded teasingly. And with that she left the room. ~Jesse~ Once I reached the field I sat down, brought my guitar up and played the song that was on my mind. It was surprising of this world, I never expected music to sound so live in this world. It made me actually start singing the song. It was wonderful, so peaceful and my smile never left my face. It was just so peaceful there. It was like all the beauty that could be found on Earth was compacted in this one little area. Though none of this was going through my mind at the time. All that was going through my brain was the fact that along with me singing the song there seemed to be music that came from nowhere but it fit the song perfectly. So I doubled my efforts with the guitar and played for a good long while. Once I was finished I leaned against a tree that was near me and rested my head. Thoughts of all kinds were going through my head. Thoughts of home, of here, of my family, and of my enemies. Though were they really my enemies? I suppose they were but how I wished that they were not. Though my wishes did not change the fact that I was at war, a war that needed to end as soon as possible. Next time I see the princesses I will make sure to try and negotiate instead of hurt. I thought to myself. I then proceeded to get up and walk over to the creek. I cast my rod in and started playing with the lure. After a few casts I received a bite along with a yank and then finally a hooked fish. I reeled the fish in and gazed at its size. It was a fairly decent sized small mouth bass (Or at least I thought it was a small mouth.). I put it in my bag that I brought along with me and cast my rod once again into the creek. And once again I was greeted with a bite, a yank, and a hooked fish. Only this fish was one I had never seen before. It had a very large mouth and two puny eyes, it was grey in color and had black and green stripes going through it. It really was a strange looking fish but none the less I through it in the bag and cast the rod again. ~Luna~ Luna watched the creature as it played its instrument and singing a song that she had never heard before. Though a being from a different world would probably have different music. She new the creature could talk their language but she did not know it was it's language she expected it was using some form of magic to adapt to their language. She eventually found herself nodding her head to the beat of the music and almost let her voice slip into the song as well. But she knew better then to compromise the mission so early. While she was starring at the creature she noticed that it had a look of peace on its face. Even with all the pain that it had endured in this world and she didn't know what horrors could be on its planet. But that look of peace never left its face and honestly it was almost a kind look, a very happy and content look. She and the guard ponies stayed watching the creature for quite some time play song after song. Then, after it was finished the creature set down its instrument and grabbed some kind of long pole with string that stretched down from a small metal basin through seven holes and then out the top hole to where the string led back down to where what appeared to be a rubber worm was located at one of the lower holes and a hook that went through it onto one of the holes. The creature then started walking out of the field. Of course they followed it, they had to it would be a failed mission if they left now. But something in her heart told her to leave, to let the creature be and go separate ways. But instead she followed the creature as it went down to the large creek that is known as Anabass Creek. She watched as the creature did something to its pole making the string come out of the end of it and land in the water. It then began to pull the rubber worm through the water to it by spinning a trinket on the bottom of the pole. It did this several times until it became clear what the was doing. It was fishing. Only this was the strangest form of fishing that Luna had ever seen. Normally fishing was done by Griffons bye them either swooping down from the air or by bow fishing. When the creature caught the first fish one of the guards almost puked but was able to hold it back and not let the creature know they were there. It was obvious that the creature was either a Omnivore or a Carnivore, she was not hoping for the latter. The creature caught several fish and said to itself, "That's good enough for a while." And then began to head to its instrument, it grabbed it and teleported away to what they could only assume was its home. They did the same thing only, they did not teleport to the direct entryway of the house but instead teleported a little distance away to where the house was barely in view. They neared the house and looked through the windows of the building. She sighed when she saw the creature pull fruit out of a storage box, but she tensed almost immediately when she saw the fish being thrown up on the counter and the creature taking out a rather large knife. "We've seen enough." Luna told her other guards and they headed off to Canterlot.
