When The Wind Changes

Boom

It was the day after Discord had arrived to Canterlot. The Princesses had been nice enough to offer him a room in the castle. The door had a lock just in case something bad happened. Luna was on her way to his room, humming a tune she remembered from her childhood. She opened the door and walked inside

’‘Discord, I-’’ She stopped talking as the spirit in question wasn’t in the room. She walked inside to see if he was just hiding. The only thing she found was a note that had been left for her. The style was messy and a little weak. She realised that he had trouble writing with his mouth. But she could read it.

’’To Lu

If you walk into my room to look for me and I’m not here, I have left to have som fun with your ’‘lovely’’ sister. She didn’t seem to happy about me getting a room for myself though. I owe you one.

Oh and don’t go into the kitchen until you hear a loud boom and some splattering noises. Trust me on that one.

~D.’’

Luna wondered what he meant with the last part, but when Discord says something like that, the best thing to do is to listen. She frowned a little at the thought of the hostility between Discord and Celestia. It wasn’t really surprising that they were going to have some second thoughts about eachother. Luna just hoped that they’d get along eventually.

Luna shrugged and laid the note down on his bed again and walked out of the room, continuing her search for him.

Celestia was walking through the halls leading to the kitchen. Her thoughts was on the cocky spirit that now resided in her and her sister’s castle. She knew that he would might be planning something. She was too hungry to care at the moment, as she hadn’t eaten anything yet. She would normally ask her chefs to make her something but she’s fully capable of doing it herself. Besides, she likes cooking from time to time.

Her thoughts returned to the troublesome spirit, she didn’t know why she was thinking about him like she did. He was fascinating. Discord could go through hell and just laugh it away and make fun of others without a care in the world. Discord also scared her as he was stronger than her, even when he was weaker as a pony. The necklace was something she was glad to have manufactured. And knowing that Discord was now in her castle and had a special place with her own sister unsettled Celestia greatly.

As she came around the corner leading to the corridor where the kitchen was, the spirit in question trotted towards her while whistling a jaunty tune. Discord acknowledged her and smiled, not grinned as he always did. It was a genuine smile.

’‘Top of the mornin’, Celestia!’’ He sang, stopping in front of her.

’’Ah yes, good morning to you too, Discord...’’ Celestia was suspicious to why he was in such a good mood today. ’‘Is the room okay?’’

’’It suits me just fine. Being improned in stone for a couple of thousand years makes you less than picky about where and how you sleep.’’ Discord said nonchalantly.

’‘Good.’’ Celestia walked past him. ’‘Have you had any breakfast yet?’’

’‘Just about to actually, I was going to find Luna but I can have it with you. Come on.’’ Discord turned around and trotted past her to the kitchen. Celestia wondered what was going on, but she shrugged it away and just thought about it as Discord warming up to her.

’‘Very well then.’’ Celestia walked into the kitchen, She looked back to see Discord just standing by the doorframe, casually leaning towards it. ’‘Aren’t you coming?’’

’‘Celestia...’’ Discord looked down at his hooves, he seemed to be miserable. Celestia became a little concerned.

’‘What is it, Discord?’’ She took a cautious step towards him. Discord just looked up at her. The solemn expression had been replaced with a mischevious grin and his eyes looked like he had something planned.

’‘Boom.’’ Discord simply said.

’‘What are you-AAARGHHHH!’’ Before she had answered, all of the ovens in the kitchen blasted open, and what looked like batter of some sort splattered all over the kitchen, including the princess. She stumbled forwards, trying to come to her senses but she slipped on some batter, yelped and fell over. Discord lost it as soon as she fell. He rolled over onto his back and clutched his sides. His laughter echoed through the hall.

With a bright flash, Luna appeared next to her. The loud boom had alerted her and reminded her of his note. When she saw her sister who was trying desperately to stand up, muttering something incoherent, she lost it and joined Discord on the floor, laughing at the now very flustered solar Princess.

Discord stood up, still giggling like a schoolfilly. He walked towards Celestia, reached out a hoof and wiped some of the batter from Celestia’s chestpiece and tasted it.

’‘Perfect!’’ He exclaimed happily. ’‘Needs just a little cocoa!’’ He grabbed some cocoa off the shelf and threw it at Celestia. It exploded into a cloud of chocolate. Another insane fit of laughter escaped Discord who decided that it was a good time to run away from the now extremely irritated solar Princess before she would come to her senses. Luna tried desperately to gasp for air from laughing too hard. Tears were brimming her eyes.

Celestia’s right eye twitched furiously. She started to shudder from the rage. She hadn’t used the Royal Canterlot Voice in a long time, but this called for it.

’’DISCOOOOOOOORD!’’ Her shout rocked the entire castle. Luna had to stop laughing to cover her ears, but she was still giggling like a madmare. Celestia teleported to her room, determined to wash it off and then search for the spirit responsible for this mess. Luna stood up, wiped her eyes and teleported away to find Discord.

20 minutes later, the batter had started to harden. That’s when a castle servant came to the kitchen in her usual round of cleaning. She sat down hard, lifted her hooves and rubbed her eyes.

’‘Fuck my life...’’ She groaned and went to work.

A couple of hours later, Celestia was in her private study room going through some papers about the economy. Celestia groaned and rubbed her eyes with her hooves. Luna was much better when it came to math and paperwork. Celestia was more diplomatic when it came to foreign relations. She perked her ears, as she heard some soft singing coming from somewhere in her room.

’’I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves...’’

Celestia turned around to see nopony in the room. She turned back to her papers and continued reading. The singing started again.

’’Oh, I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, and this is how it goes; I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves...’’

Celestia’s ears twitched. She couldn’t focus on her work or anything besides that annoying song. Celestia groaned as it continued.

’’Oh, I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, and this is how it goes; I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves oh, I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, and this is how it goes; I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves, everypony’s nerves oh, I know a song that gets on everypony’s nerves, and this is how it goes-’’

Celestia’s right eye started twitching furiously again. She started growling. ’‘ENOUGH!’’ The Royal Canterlot Voice seemed to work perfectly, as the singing stopped and two giggling noises came from behind her second bigger desk inside the room. Celestia used her magic and levitated the desk into the air swiftly, knocking all the papers, ink and books off it. She saw Luna and Discord staring back at her, both of them was smiling innocently and whistling.

’‘Out.’’ Celestia hissed. The mischevious two broke out into full laughter as they trotted out the room. When they had left the room, Celestia eyed the mess, groaned and grabbed the papers she had to read and teleported to her private quarters.

A few minutes later, the same servant from the kitchen had been sent to clean Celestia’s study. Her jaw dropped as soon as she laid eyes on the great mess. She laid down and covered her head with her hooves.

’‘Fuck my life...again.’’ She muttered and went to work on cleaning the horrible mess.

Discord and Luna had retreated to Luna’s quarters for the evening. They were talking about the pranks they had pulled on her sister. They agreed to pull many more on her poor sister. Discord was lying on her bed on his back, scratching his stomach. Luna had just brought forward her night.

’‘You know what, Lu?’’ Discord turned his head to Luna, who was walking towards the massive bed-

’‘What?’’ Luna climbed up on the bed and laid down next to him, resting her head on his muscular neck. The charcoal necklace was a little in the way for her but she didn’t care. It made his eyes look much more alive in some way.

’’I think I’m really going to work on this rehabilitation thing you and ’Ol Shiny got going.’’ Luna’s eyes widened and grinned, nuzzling into his neck.

’‘That’s wonderful!’’ She cheered, Discord looked a little less than enthusiastic about it.

’’I think I should go back to my room for the night.’’ Discord started to sit up but a midnight hoof pushed him back to the bed.

’‘Please stay...’’ Luna begged, pouting a little and making her bottom lip quiver. Discord tried to look away from that face. It was no idea in trying.

’‘Fine...’’ Discord laid back down and Luna returned her head to his neck.

’‘Discord?’’

’‘Yeah?’’

’‘Sing me a lullaby like you did three thousand years ago.’’ Discord looked into her cyan orbs. Even her eyes was begging him to do it. Her eyes was just as mesmerizing as he remember them.

’‘Alright.’’
