Canterlot High School is known for many things. It is known for it's high ranking sports teams, academically achieving students, and it has been the target of magical beings from some other world. But today, the school may or may not be known for another thing. That is because, nine students will represent their school in a movement that started on the internet and has been sweeping the nation since March of this year.
This movement involves one person banging on an object, table or wall rhythmically while one person at a time talks in beat. When that one person is done talking, the entire group shouts a word that is supposed to keep the circle going. The setting seems to usually be either in a street, lunchroom, classroom, or at home. Since the nine students are in a lunchroom now, it seems that this a good time for them to take part of the movement.
It is currently lunchtime at CHS. Students are meeting up with their fellow classmates, eating with them, talking about highlights from a game that happened the previous day, talking about an upcoming test the next period, the gossip about whose eyebrows are on "fleek" as they say, the typical high school talk. One set of students, all of which are girls, are not doing any of these things. They are getting ready.
These girls are known as the Dazzlings and the Rainbooms. The two groups used to be enemies. Reason being: the Dazzlings were defeated by the Rainbooms during a recent battle of the bands. The Dazzlings are, or were, actually sirens from another world trying to feed off negative energy from the students of CHS. They were going to use that energy to make the inhabitants of this world adore them. The Rainbooms would not allow that to happen. So by using their magical music, the magic of friendship, and a friend of theirs who is from the same world as the Dazzlings used to live in, the Rainbooms defeated the three Dazzling girls, taking their feeding powers away at the some time.
Some time after the battle of the bands, and the other worldly friend returning to her original home, the Rainbooms tried to become friends with the Dazzlings. The more positive one, Sonata, accepted the Rainboom's friendship almost immediately. The other two, Aria and Adagio, took some time. But Sonata was able to coax the other two girls to show that the friendship the Rainbooms are offering is actually what they needed all along. It was never attention or being adored that they (used to think they) need, it was just simply friendship.
As the bond between the two groups were getting stronger, they all have shown appreciation for each others taste in media. Two students from the Rainbooms, known as Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, both love viral YouTube videos and trends. One day, the two were watching a video out of sheer boredom. This particular video involved a group of people shouting something, a rhythmic beat, and everyone talking over the beat. They even found a bunch of other videos similar to the one they first watched. It turns out, it is all part of a movement. It was not for any cause, like the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, it was just for fun. That is it, plain and simple.
The two girls showed everyone else in their friend circle, including the three new additions, this video. All of them were intrigued and watched some of these videos on their own time. All of the girls started to get hooked on this trend. So hooked, they wanted to make one on their own.
So that is what they are about to do today. They are all seated at a lunch table in the cafeteria, all getting ready to take part of the movement. They would do it sooner, but the nine of the girls have to wait for someone. That someone is going to be the one to record the girl's take of the movement.
"Where is Vinyl?" Rainbow Dash asks, giving off the impression she is becoming impatient. "We've been waiting for her for the past ten minutes! What's taking her so long?"
"Now calm down darling," Rainbow Dash's fashionista friend, Rarity, says. "Vinyl was in Adagio and I's class last period. Everyone was taking a test and everyone finished before the bell, except her. She's just finishing up. Just relax and wait."
"I know. I just wanna do this SO badly! I've been waiting a while to do this."
"All of us have since you and Pinkie showed us that video," Sonata says. Everyone nods in agreement. Rainbow Dash lets out another sigh and allows the seconds of time slip by until the group's final component arrives.
In just a couple of minutes, Vinyl Scratch enters through the cafeteria doors. She scans the area for a moment to locate the friends she is supposed to help out. After only one quick scan, she finds them no problem and lightly jogs towards them.
By the time she reaches the nine girls, both Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash let out a: "Finally!"
"Was the test difficult?" Aria asks. "I have that class next period and I didn't really care to study." Vinyl lifts up her hand and does a see-saw motion with it, telling Aria that it was not too bad. "I guess I should be alright then."
"So girls, whose ready to make a viral video?" The girl sitting next to Rarity asks. She goes by the name of Sunset Shimmer.
"MEEEE!" Pinkie piratically shouts with excitement in her voice.
"Um...do you think...um...we should do this?" The shy one of the group, Fluttershy, asks. "I mean, I know it looked fun and all on those videos, but...I don't know."
"It'll be fine sugar cube," Applejack, the country girl of the group, assures her. "Just think of it like it's one of our Rainboom performances. It's still a performance one way or another."
"Umm...okay."
"Okay, who's ready?" Rainbow Dash asks, very excitedly. Everyone raises their hand. "Awesome! Pinkie, you got the beat?" The pink haired girl rhythmically bangs on the table for a couple of seconds to let the others know what to expect for as beat. "Awesome! We got the order?" Rainbow Dash takes another look at how everyone is positioned. That is how their routine will go. It will start with Rainbow Dash, then it will go to Sunset Shimmer, followed by Rarity, then Pinkie, Sonata, Fluttershy, Applejack, Aira, and finally Adagio to conclude. "Yes we do! Our order is set. Vinyl, you ready?" Vinyl Scratch pulls out her smart-phone and opens the camera and sets it to record.
After that, she gives the thumbs up. "Okay Vinly. Ready to record in five, four..." Rainbow Dash mouths the last three numbers to Vinyl. The girl presses the button to record. She waits two seconds after there is a small, flashing red dot on the screen and points to Rainbow Dash to start. The Rainbooms and Dazzlings take of the movement has begun.

"Everybody say sausage and keep it going!" The instant the rainbow haired girl proclaims this, Pinkie starts to rhythmically bang on the table. "Eggs, bacon grits!"
"SAUSAGE!"
"Red n' yellow hair and I get that..."
"SAUSAGE!"
"When I have my breakfast, I eat that..."
"SAUSAGE!"
"When I plan a party, I always have..."
"SAUSAGE!"
"When I eat a taco, there's always..."
"SAUSAGE!"
"I maybe a vegan, but I get that..."
"SAUSAGE!"
"Fruit are to apples as protein are to..."
"SAUSAGE!"
"I'm a skinny chick, but I get that..."
"SAUSAGE!"
"Human or Siren, take your pick..."
"SAUSAGE! SA-SA-SA-SA-SA-SA-SA-SAUSAGE!" Suddenly, the cafeteria doors burst open, only to reveal Principal Celestia keeping the doors open with her wide spread arms. It kind of looks like she is about to say something. With all eyes glued to her, and the girls stopping their performance, she says,
"Someone tell me, does the cafeteria sell sausage?" She asks loud enough for the girls to hear.
"AYYYY!"
