//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 // Story: Haunted // by MidnightBlaze16 //------------------------------// Waking up on the morning, Rainbow Dash went through her regular morning routine of having a shower, eating breakfast and reading the newspaper. She sat at the table and picked up the newspaper reading the headline; RAINBOW FACTORY MYSTERY As most ponies know, if a foal fails the Cloudsdale flight test they are banished to an unknown land. A few days ago, whilst delivering equipment to the upper parts of the Cloudsdale Weather Factory, known only as ‘The Rainbow Factory’, the delivery mare was supposedly greeted by a stallion covered in what looked like, according to the witness, blood. Whilst the stallion, known as Dr Atmosphere, reassured her that it was just red spectra, the mare panicked and flew straight to us, having a fit about the whole situation. “THEY’RE MURDERERS! MURDERERS I TELL YOU!” This yellow maned grey pegasus is has been temporarily facilitated in a mental asylum until further notice. Some ponies say that the mare was telling the truth and have started protesting against the production of Rainbows. This year’s test failures include: Aurora Dawn Leon Roar Hurricane Orion Stars Little Wings Spring Song Scootaloo Dash’s head suddenly throbbed as she read her former adopted sister’s name. She shook her head as he pain faded and flew over to the Factory for today’s work. Rainbow Dash collapsed on her couch and turned on the TV. It had been a long day at work. Every time she saw a combination of both orange and purple she felt a throbbing in her head and a pain in her heart. She was flipping through the channels but, finding nothing to watch, decided just to hit the hay. It was pretty late after all. She dragged herself upstairs and lay on her bed, quickly falling asleep until… “I know what you did” “What?” “You did this to me” “You will pay” Rainbow looked frantically around the room in search of the voice, but, seeing nothing there, lay back down. “I remember” Dash bolted up and, muzzle 6 inches away from Dash’s, floated a orange pegasus filly with a purple mane. “Gah!” “Hello Dash” Scootaloo’s voice practically spat out the name as it echoed around the room, coming from seemingly everywhere however the figures mouth didn’t move. “Wh-what the…” “How do you feel about brutally murdering me now?” “Leave me alone!” Dash yelled, burying herself under her bed-covers. “I’m insane. I’m just seeing things, I’m going crazy,” Dash muttered to herself. “Well, crazier.” She was left in peace for about 5 minutes when the voice came back, a more masculine one joining it. “We know what you did” “We don’t forget We don’t forgive” Dash poked her head out and saw Scootaloo standing on air again, this time joined by a young colt, a friend f hers when she was still…alive. Orion she thought was is name, she couldn't be sure. I said leave me alone!” Dash picked up the closet thing, which turned out to be her lamp, and threw it at the two…things, staring shocked as it just went through them. “Wha- what happened to you two? What are you two?” “You did this to us” “Now you will pay" “What…” That’s when Dash decided to run, she ran through her cloud mansion, paying no attention to where exactly she was going. She ran into a random room. A spare bedroom, and hid under the bed. “Don’t tell us you never felt guilty” she heard Scootaloo say bitterly form he place under the bed. “You never felt the least bit remorse?” “You were worth everything to me” “I trusted you” “You were the sister I never had” “You betrayed me” Dash looked to her side to see Scootaloo’s ghost right next to her, an emotionless expression on her face. Dash scrambled out under her bed and baked herself against the wall, immediately regretting it as she found herself cornered. “No, please, stop, I’m sorry!” Dash begged. Slowly she noticed Scootaloo begin to fade away. “What the…” She held a hoof to her face as rays of sunlight peaked through the window and shone into her eyes. “Huh? Morning already?” Surprisingly, Dash wasn't even tired. She figured she was just hallucinating the whole time and went back to life as normal… Rainbow dash flew inside her house, immediately slamming the door behind her. It happened again, this time at work. She was going to the toilet during lunch break. Washing her hands when suddenly. “Hi again” Rainbow looked up to see her reflection had transformed into that of Scootaloo’s. “Wh-what do you want from me!?!” Dash asked. “To make you suffer the same why I did” Dash flew home quickly after that, locking the door after her. “Don’t run from me” “Just leave me alone!” “Never!” A game of Hide-and-Seek followed that, lasting for hours on end. And Scootaloo was always it. Whenever she found Dash, she would disappear, only for it to start again moments later. Dash ran into the bathroom and locked the door, leaning against it, breathing heavily. She looked through the window in the ddor and saw Scootaloo a ruler's length from the door. 'You're not very good at hiding' Dash, panicked and ran away from the door, dashing inside the medicine closet, peering through the crack in the door. Somehow Scootaloo had gotten into the bathroom, and was searching for her. She looked in the bathtub, but she was not there. where are you, I wonder 'You couldn't have gotten very fa'r 'Are you in the closet' Dash shook her head as if to say 'No, no I'm not here!" Her silent prayers fell on deaf ears however as the closet door opened. 'Found you' Hours later, The great Rainbow Dash was reduced to a shaking mess on the floor. Her eyes were darting back and forth as she crouched in the lobby. She saw some orange and out of the corner of her eye an made a run for it, finding her way into her kitchen. “I can’t take this anymore!” she screamed, running towards the draw and pulling out the sharpest knife she could find. “I have to escape…” She stabbed herself in the stomach and collapsed, one again clutching her head in her hooves. “I have to escape. I can’t take much more of this. I can escape. I can stop. I can end this…. “It’s over.” And with that, the insane mare took her last breath.
