Special Episode: The Power of the Normal Type

Bidoof found that he was easily able to fall into society here, at least in Ponyville. He missed the Trailblazers, and hoped that the business in Canterlot finished soon. He couldn't complain about Ponyville, though. Partially due to the lack of Guild members, Bidoof had been able to take more help requests in a weekend than most teams got in a week. Mostly they were odd jobs, but a few needed some more work. He was also happy that Chatot had agreed after consideration that the Guild could be used as a sort of hang out for those who wanted to. It was Monday and he was going to go get three fillies from school. They were fun to be around, and the promise of being told more about the Guild and Pokemon was enough to make hem do their school work as fast as they could. Bidoof found them a little excitable and maybe a bit reckless, but they were good kids and he liked seeing them having fun. When he arrived at the schoolhouse about 5 minutes after class ended due to taking a wrong turn, however, he found them having anything but.
"You blank flanks aren't going to amount to anything!" A pink pony taunted.
"Unless you've gotten your cutie marks. Oh wait, you haven't!" A grey one called to a group of three ponies, who looked disheartened.
"Back off, both of you!" Bidoof yelled, walking over to the three fillies he came to get, standing between them and the bullies. "What's wrong with you two, picking on these three?"
"There's nothing wrong with us, it's what's wrong with them! They still don;t have their cutie marks!" Diamond Tiara said.
Bidoof considered. "I have to agree that there's something wrong with these three, but it isn't cutie marks or the lack thereof. It's the fact that this sort of joke bothers them." Bidoof heard the 'Huh?' from all five, and figured it was time to give them as much of a lesson as he can give. Chatot's the one who should do this kind of thing, but he isn't here! Bidoof took a deep breath.
"I think that these three are like me, at least for now."
Silver Spoon rolled her eyes. "Annoying and useless?"
Bidoof laughed. "Is that the best you've got? No, I think that they're normal types, basically."
Diamond Tiara laughed. "Like she said, useless."
Bidoof shook his head. "You don't get it! The normal type isn't the type with the best average special attack, or best defense, or the hgihest average anything. Normal type Pokemon are just that: normal. There is almost nothing they can do that other Pokemon can't." At this point, the fillies aren't sure if he's trying to help Apple Bloom, Sweetie Bell, and Scootaloo or bully them. "However, it goes the other way too. There is almost nothing that other Pokemon can do that normal types can't do as well. The thing about normal types is that they are the most varied Pokemon type. Most water types are fish or other marine life. Most flying types are birds. Most normal types are, well, abnormal. There is nothing harder to define in Pokemon types than the normal type. Normal types have the most potential out of any other type. We have the capability to do far more than most Pokemon of the other types. You two are stuck in a box, like how fire types rarely can deal with a water type on their own. These three? They can handle anything life throws at them, and from what I've heard they've done that. So please stop picking on them for being normal, because they seem to me to be anything but. Come on, you three. Chatot's probably going to think I got into a battle because I've been gone so long." Bidoof starts to leave with the Cutie Mark Crusaders. He stops and turns back towards Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. "If you ever want to come hang out at the Guild, I won't hold this against you. If you bully in the guild or around me again, though, Lopunny and Chatot may have more than a few words with you. Have a good day!" Bidoof then turned and ran to catch up to the Crusaders.
"Thanks Bidoof. Those two really get into our heads." Sweetie Bell said.
"I was really just parroting what I heard Chatot and Wigglytuff say to defend me from bullies back in Treasure Town. It was because of that event that I joined the Wigglytuff Guild in the first place." Bidoof smiled. "Maybe a helping hand is all it takes to turn a day from bad to good."
"That doesn't matter! You could have waited and watched, but you didn't." Scootaloo said. "So thanks."
"Get behind me or run. There is a menacing looking Pokemon I don't recognize." Bidoof said, his tone gaining business. The three immediately hide behind him.
The Pokemon turns to look. "You are a Bidoof, yes?" Its voice sounded a mechanical, like Officer Magnezone's. Its arms were bent, as though carrying It gestures with its head towards the guild's tent. "You live in this house?"
Bidoof nodded. "Who are you and why do you care? What do you want?"
The Pokemon looked at Bidoof, its eyes glowing for a second. "I am Genesect. I asked because I need help, and I saw a Pokemon giving its face for a tent. I need help, but I did not wish to come in without being invited."
Apple Bloom peeked out at Genesect. "What do you need?"
Genesect's eyes glowed again. "I need someone to talk to, and... I need my friend to be healed. She is the reason I have control of myself again." Genesect knelt down and showed what it was carrying. It looked female, was sort of curled up, and looked badly hurt. The most identifiable part of her was her hair, wrapped around her like a baby in a blanket. Her hair was green with several lines across and through it, with blue dots on some of the lines. "I saw her being attacked by dragons. I drove them off, but she's badly hurt. She spent her energy while she was conscious to rid me of the order to destroy. I need her healed. Help Meloetta."
