It was an interesting day, here in Hoofenova Village. I was told that it was the first village to accept all three tribes of pony, even passing zebras and mules. Overall dragon attack were low thanks to their odd strategy of giving the pegasi armor with sharp needles and have the earth ponies launch the pegasi over their head. Reminds me of Lord Sombra and his fair queen, who died recently.
Those two were a great team until the end. Nopony knows how she died and rumors floated around that a unicorn assassin snuck in a poisoned her. Its one thing to believe rumors and another to have a dead end in the truth. I decided to give up the case and tell Vector that I failed him, but my student Clover the Clever noticed a dark cloud forming over the small village...
Oh my Faust... Giant lifeless-looking lady bugs ran around, slaughtering the populace with flying creatures that shot magic from its bottom half with more accuracy that even I could have.
I turned to my student, dead in the eyes, "Grab my hat, this is going to be a long day..." As she did I transformed my dull, brown cloak back into the form of my glorious, blue enchanted cape. With an extra spell, it shifted into blue armor and my hat stuck onto me, only falling off in my time of need. "What're you doing?"
Clover barely held a stick in her magic, "I wanna halp you Sir Starswirl."
"No. I cant let you near his disaster! What would I tell your parents when their little girl dies? That a little filly fought well?"
"Sir, I mean no-" I put a hoof to my young assistant's mouth.
"I know you mean well, but these aren't manticors. I fear their power even as I stand." She started tearing up, but she got the message and stayed behind in my wagon. I teleported into the village, taking out my wand to double my attacks and conserve my magic. Each creature made of magic and armor broke by my will, until something new showed up. It was a green and black creature that held me by my neck, high above the ground.
From the sky, a loud, booming laugh filled the village as a creature formed the face of a pony similar to Sombra with glowing blue details that resembled ripped parchment. "Starswirl the Bearded... actually not yet. The goatee is an interesting look on you, but I'm not here for fashion tips. Hoof over the village lest I summon more Metal Scourge and make your early death slower and more painful than your would be future death." The Bearded? What kind of title was that? And future death? These creatures... I don't think they were from this time at all! I was saved by a purple blur that tore the metal creature to pieces.
"Espio?! Vector? Oh... um ...hi Charmy." Stood with me were the Chaotics. A purple striped zebra "ninja", a green crystal pony with the biggest muscles ever seen and a voice that will never have a singing career, and a black and yellow pegasus "bee" with a black helmet with an artificial unicorn horn I made... used for poking his enemies instead of magic. They based their rag tag group off of mythical creatures, but that's for another day.
I took out two my wands and started drawing arcane marks around me as Vector took out his cragodile war hammer. Where he got it out from, I wish to never ask. We charged at these 'Metal Scourge' that flew out of the beast's mouth in a gruesome matter. When he finally stopped, he gave a smirk, "Finally! A time where things flying out of my mouth is creepy. The future is weird."
With my arcane gunpowder spell (need a name for it) I sent metal parts flying all over the place. With the new ammunition, I started tossing what I assume are his head and two odd shaped hooves at its brothers. We were doing so well until the beast summoned another being. A small blue creature, not made of metal, but still dangerous. He has a long black mustache that extends from under angry eyes. The blue creature stood like a Metal Scourge and held a wooden staff in his hand. He was clothed in a black cloak and had determination in his eyes. "Its great to be young again," he said. "And even better to kill your enemy at a time before he meets you!"
"Have at him Master Zik."
I dodged his attacks with his staff, only for him to use my arcane marks against me as I was blown back towards him. He quickly held me close in his magic, rapidly kicking my body before I could finish another mark. Luckily like the legendary thoom the dovahkiin has, even tough it wasn't complete in my eyes, I had a useful mark. I pushed him away, the mark being a simple wind bend and element increase without the soil reactivate detail. I rushed him, rolling so that I could drop kick him before punching him in the face.
That last part failed as he kicked a Metal Scourge head in my face, obscuring my vision long enough for him to move behind me and crescent kick followed by a powerful upper cut behind me. Physics caught up to me as I bounced all over the place, feeling like a rag doll. Out of the corner of my eye, over on the hill where my wagon stood was Clover prepping a canon.
I almost thought she would reveal herself, but instead she shot my diamond staff towards me. I used the head of it to send this Zik fellow flying a few hooves. He then returned with a giant land dolphin (no jest, a gargantuan sea creature that swam on land) as he fired some magic bolts towards my way.
"Hey Sonata, you don't mind a little adventure, do ya?" Wolf Sonic said, standing at the time ring they made.
"I'm not really up for any excitement..."
The Sonic laughed, "The history book says you're going with me anyway." He said, opening the book at a young Starswirl the Bearded at a time when he was called Starswirl the Boasted.
"I don't see us..." Sonata said, trying to read the book. Sonic fed the machine with anarchy beryl as Sonata tossed the book away. When the portal opened, Sonic tried to get Sonata to go with him, but she didn't budge.
"Look, you wont be in any major fighting and there's a cute little filly you can take care of."
Sonata thought about it.
"You're the reason the Griffon Kingdom has tacos," Sonic said flatly, causing Sonata to run in first for her obsession for mexican food. Sonic just stood there thinking:
before jumping in after her.
I looked into the eyes of my grim reaper. An ugly blue thing with two tiny horns that burned off part of my facial hair, leaving him with the best mustache. I'm so dazed right now, I need a miracle to fully realize my situation. Suddenly I hear... music playing? More of those Zeti things had instruments, playing interesting yet terrible music.
Another blue creature, similar to the Metal Scourge, wearing an odd formal outfit ran by with a sword with eyes. He used the blunt side of the blade to push Master Zik away from me. A canteen was dropped next to me as he ran to save the Chaotics and turn to attack Zik from behind with a series of fast paced kicks and some sort of rolling attack that defied the laws of physics.
Sonic homed in on the younger Zeti, Master Zik. Using his bladed homing attack, he killed the dolphin. "Nice look, old timer," Sonic said, leveling his "borrowed" Caliburn, who also smirked at what would be a great fight. He ran at them, but Sonic was faster than his future counterpart, who needed gold shoes to beat Rainbow Dash in a race. Sonic twirled in the air, his blade finding his target in five rapid rotations before he was blocked.
Vector tossed his hammer like Shining did with Cadence, knocking Zik out of the air as Sonic increased his speed with Caliburn under him. He gave the Zeti a cut arm from the delayed reaction. Espio tossed some shurikens while Charmy flew head first into Zik, "stinging" him.
Sonic landed, giving the trio a thumbs up, "heh. Pony Chaotics, I guess this world has more to it!"
Everyone ran towards Zik, except Starswirl who seemed out of it. Zik slammed his staff on the ground with both hands, creating explosions all over the ground. Sonic blade spin dashed at him, leaping when the explosions happened and homed in. He slashed Zik a few times mid air before circling him. He jabbed and slashed at random times before he was magically pushed away.
"LASER!" Sonic quickly changed into a cyan laser, bouncing off all surfaces as he constantly collided with Zik from unpredictable directions. He was prepared to block a laser, but Sonic got out of the power, kicking the staff away and knocking Zik onto the ground. Sonic aimed his sword at his foe's head, "Yield! Do it now!"
"Seriously?" he asked, almost laughing. "Come on hero, end this!"
Starswirl got up from his spot, the confusion spell slowly leaving. He took out a purple shell and started blowing it, the unnamed Zeti disappeared, but their music still played as it faded out. Master Zik held onto his head in pain. Starswirl got in Zik's face, "You think me a fool? I'm a master in magic, even unknown magic such as your own." He went back to flowing some air into what Sonic called "the magic conch shell" before stopping and laughing, "I should probably give this to Clover, thine tone deaf as it is. It will be amusing to her, no?"
As soon as the shell returned to Starswrl's face, Zik disappeared in back time smoke. Time Sombra conjured a hand that he let slide down his face, "OK, why is it so hard to kill you now, but almost easy to kill your future self?! You're like a plague that wont end!" He returns to a calm state, "Our battle will come. You have your friends and I have mine." He disappeared, all traces of him gone.
Sonata held the first taco feast with the worst tacos ever made and Sonic got to tell the pony Chaotics about his Chaotics from his home. Everything cooled down as they waited for Metal Sonic to take them back home...
Jet opened the door to Amy's house, surprised to see Princess Twilight standing outside. Twilight had on saddlebags and smiled, "Hey Jet, is a Sonic home?"
"Um... No, but I can leave a message." Jet put down his board and watched as Twilight opened a history book, showing Clover the Cleaver banishing the sirens, now Dazzlings, to the human world.
With a stern look she said, "The past is changing. We need Sonic, now." She took off her bags, revealing her lack of wings, "It's about to go down..."
