When they got back they found Trixie still in stone. Loki took the Alicorn amulet off the statue before setting her free. Trixie blinked her horn was on her head and yet she didn't have the amulet and she was staring into the faces of two Discords.... "Trixie suddenly feels small." Trixie said. Loki walked up to her.
"Yes you are and you almost became a tyrant by the way." Loki answered. He looked at her and held the amulet with his magic. "You realize that this amulet is evil right? It’s dark magic." He then gave her a glare. "You should be exiled for even using this but I have a better idea." with a snap of his talons Trixie looked as she was in Loki magic shop. "You’re going to be my apprentice as a magic seller."
"What, why in the world would the Great and Powerful Trixie work in a shop with the likes of you?" Trixie asked looking up at Loki in disgust.
"Well it's either this, or I'm going to turn you back into a statue." Loki said flatly.
"Please don't." Trixie whimpered. Loki then went up to Trixie's ear and whispered to her. "Look on the bright side. There might be a book here that can help you become stronger than Twilight." Trixie perked up at that and gave Loki a smile.
"Trixie supposes that she could make do with working here. It is better than that rock farm." Twilight frowned as she turned to Loki.
"Do you really think this is a good idea? There are some dangerous items here."
"Don't worry I'll keep an eye on her." He reassured her.
Trixie had finished her work for the day as she read one of the old books Loki had. Discord was in the shop as well doing tricks as Nyx ate a cotton candy cloud. The wendigo Frieza flew around with a ball. The shop’s owner Loki had finished another date with Twilight.
"Well then my lady I bid you goodnight I hope you can find the spell Celestia gave you." Twilight had a smile.
"I hope so too." Loki went back inside to see Trixie open a book that suddenly had dark laughter. With his powers he closed it.
"I told you some of these things are evil." He said. He felt the magic of the spell being used. "Oh great." He said.
The next day he saw Nyx kicking a cloud out of the way of the shop. "Nyx what’s going on?" The Alicorn filly flew down.
"Rarity’s trying to control the weather."
"Uh oh, are you absolutely sure about that?" Loki asked worriedly. Nyx nodded.
"Yeah, though she's just trying to arrange the clouds into a pattern, it's really weird."
"Well considering it's Rarity her doing that is par for the course for her. Remember the sleepover where she tried to style your ethereal mane." Nyx giggled a little as she remembered that.
"Yeah most of that stuff tickled. Though, I'm pretty sure she tried to use cement at one point. Daddy, is this because of that book Trixie looked into?"
"No, this is something different. I think we need to go see Twilight. She needs to know about this if she doesn't know about it already."
"Okay, but why don't you just help Miss Rarity right now?" Nyx asked with a tilt of the head. Loki chuckled a little at that.
"Well, while I might be pretty silly, there are times that I do, or in this case don't do things for a reason. Now, let's go see Twilight. I bet she'd let you and Spike roast marshmallows with his fire again."
"Okay!" Nyx cheered as she fluttered along at her adopted father's side.
When they got there they saw Twilight singing as she did they followed her. Nyx was going to call out but Loki kept her from doing anything like that for a moment. Finally Twilight saw Rarity with her cutie mark it was not her own.
"What the?” Loki appeared with Nyx. "Twilight I'm guessing the spell may have caused this." Rarity lost a cloud right as it started shooting off lightning.
Nyx jumped upon the cloud and started fighting it. "Frieza, boy come." The little windigo came to help his 'friend' fight the evil cloud.
"Should we be concerned with that?" Twilight asked.
"CMC come help me the cloud is evil!" Nyx screamed.
Loki just rolled his eyes as he lit up his horn and fired a beam into the cloud causing it to dissipate into water vapor. Nyx landed on her rump and bounced slightly as she looked around and noticed the lack of an evil cloud. She then looked up at Loki with a bit of confusion.
"How'd you do that?" Loki chuckled a little at her question.
"Well, I used a flash heating spell to instantly cause the cloud to evaporate."
"That was quick thinking on your part." Twilight said with a warm smile.
"Thanks, I couldn't just let my little girl possibly get hurt."
"Can you teach me that spell, daddy?"
"Later Nyx, right now there are other things to worry about."
"Yes, like why Rarity has Rainbow Dash's cutie mark." Twilight pointed out.
"It's a little more complicated than that Twilight," Loki started.
They walked into a animal settler Fluttershy had. What they saw was rainbow dash trying and failing at what she was doing. Next they came across Fluttershy trying to make comedy. Then they found Applejack in rarities shop. Finally pinkie pie was taking on applejacks job. When it was over Loki had to look at the spell. "Of course Star Swirl never had friends so this spell must have switched their marks.
"Are you saying that I accidentally ruined the lives of my best friends?" Twilight asked as she looked down.
"Don't think about that right now. Right now, we have to figure out how to get them back to normal and finish that spell." Loki told her as he placed a hoof on her side.
"Is there anything you and Discord could do?" She asked. "The two of you can warp reality, isn't there anything you can do?" Loki started to bite on his lower lip. There was something he could do, but he didn't want to interfere with what was going to happen. Loki hated having to lie to Twilight, but he didn't have a choice.
"Under normal circumstances I'd say yes, but these are anything but. You and your friends are tied to the Elements of Harmony. That amount of Harmony magic could interfere with anything we do."
Twilight sighed she couldn't get Discord or Loki to undo this spell. However an idea shot though her. "Harmony? That’s it Loki you’re a genius." She brought the elements out.
"We are tied to elements and it’s our friendship if Star Swirl couldn't use the spell because he had no friends then perhaps our friendship could set things right." Twilight said. Loki thought it over.
"Well that actually could work however you going to have to get them to remember what they truly are."
“And that'll be the easiest part." Twilight claimed with a smile. Loki smirked back at her and gave her a sidelong look.
"Where'd all this confidence?" He asked. She just smirked back at him as she took the elements out.
"I guess you've been rubbing off on me." She stated as she placed her element crown on her head.
"You make it sound like a bad thing."
"It isn't, but if you catch me making my decisions with a dart board then it might be." She returned with a giggle.
"Hey, I've never made my decisions with a dart board, a spinner yes, a dartboard no." Twilight just rolled her eyes as she opened the door to leave.
"Sometimes I wonder what I see in you."
"Me too, now let's go solve this."
"Even Pinkie?" Twilight asked with a giggle.
"I have ideas about that but we'll figure that out later." The two of them went through the whole thing as they sang the song for season three’s ending. As he jumped in he managed to bring Discord and Trixie to join in (much to their displeasure). Nyx came down with the CMC and the clubs mascot Freiza who was actually paying as well. With the song finished they finally got there cutie marks back.
"We actually did it and I have the perfect way to finish Star Swirl’s spell." Twilight said. Back in her home Twilight had finished it. Suddenly the elements flashed as Twilight was flashed away by the elements to ascend. Loki disappeared in a flash with a snap of his talons. In the pocket dimension where Celestia was finishing up the song Twilight caught out of her eyes Loki.
"Well I guess I should call you princess now?" Loki said with a bow.
"Wait a minute, what are you talking about?" Twilight asked as she looked between Loki and Celestia. Celestia smiled warmly as she motioned for Twilight to follow her. Celestia then started to show Twilight images from her time in Ponyville.
"He's right Twilight because of your actions not just today but throughout your time in Ponyville and even before, you've earned the title of princess. And the right to be an alicorn."
"W-wait a minute, I'm going to be an alicorn, and a princess?!" Twilight sputtered unsure of what to make of everything.
"How will I even be a princess? I don't know the first thing about being one." Celestia chuckled as she looked at the image of Twilight meeting the others of the mane six.
"You will learn to be a good princess the same way you became one. By continuing to learn and grow with those you care about supporting you. You've grown so much from the little filly I met all those years ago. I have the utmost faith that you will grow into your new role splendidly." Celestia concluded as she stopped. Loki then placed his paw on Twilight's shoulder as he smiled at her. "She's right, Twilight. You'll do great, and I'll be right by your side whenever you might need me... even if you don't want me to be there."
With a snap they both disappeared. Back in Ponyville the sun had started to set. "I can't believe this." Twilight’s friends were taken into shock at the sight of their friend the way she was. Loki himself looked at his shopkeeper apprentice, his fellow chaos being and even his adoptive daughter.
"Trixie’s eyes must be deceiving her." Trixie said looking at Alicorn Twilight.
"Well this is a strange development." Discord said.
"Well I kinda knew it was going to happen.... oh crap." Loki just remembered. 'Tirek I can't believe I forgot him.......'
Twilight just looked at him with an incredulous look. "What do you mean you knew this was going to happen?" Twilight asked.
"Uhh," Loki started not sure of what to say.
"Loki, you better not be trying to think of a way to either lie to me or escape." Twilight warned him with a death glare that rivaled Fluttershy's stare.
'And while they're distracted by the flying monkeys I can make myself a jet ski and cross the... oh dear god, that face is the window to hell itself!' Loki cried out in his head.
"Well, I may or may not have known about a few of the things that happened before they happened." Loki said with a weak chuckle.
"Like what?" Twilight asked.
"Well, I knew about Chrysalis's invasion, and of course you becoming an Alicorn." He admitted.
"Anything else?" She asked.
"Umm, there may be a monkey, centaur thing that can steal magic on the loose. I've looked for him a few times and I've come up empty every time. And it wasn't for lack of trying, the guy sticks out like a sore thumb."
Discord knew who he was talking about. "I don't think he’s free.' Discord said. "I can sense imbalances as well and he isn't free." Loki had to ask himself maybe he did alter time.
"Well besides that there was this town I took care of it before anything could get bad and I knew Sombra was going to return after the invasion." Loki finished. Twilight blinked at how he knew so much. "Call it time travel in a sense if you must but I've been very active around the world." Loki finished.
"Wait, what was so bad about that town you dealt with?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Well it wasn't the entire town just their mayor. She was stealing cutie marks from ponies and brainwashing them into a sort of cult with a idea what harmony was however it was Disharmony. I revealed that she actually hadn't given up her own cutie mark, released the marks and left her in the capable hooves of mob justice." Everyone blinked at Loki's explanation.
"Wow, that's pretty crazy." Rainbow Dash said to break the silence.
"It's kind of what I do. Anyway, shouldn't somepony start planning a 'My friend is an alicorn now' party?" Loki asked as he turned towards Pinkie Pie.
"Ya know, you and I don't always get along, but you just made a super duper point!" Pinkie cheered as she rushed to gather her emergency party supplies.
Nyx jumped at this. "Yeah mommy’s an Alicorn." Nyx said jumping around.
"Momma?" Applejack asked.
"I was made with Twilight so she’s my mommy." The filly said giving a look of adorableness. "Right." She asked. Twilight couldn't say no to her.
"I guess technically I am your mother." Twilight said.
Loki blinked at this, little Nyx managed to defeat an alicorn, a pony demigod with cuteness.
