//------------------------------// // TARDIS Take-Down // Story: Doctor Whooves: The Temporal Schism // by Draconaquest //------------------------------// Sunset groaned as she stood up. She rubbed the back of her head where it had hit the floor. She walked over to Twilight and helped her up. "You okay?" Sunset asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." Twilight said, standing up. "What happened?" "I don't know." Sunset replied. "I time distortion hit the TARDIS, and it is now caught in a temporal schism." A voice said. "That sounded like..." Twilight said. "The Doctor." Sunset said, nodding. "I'm on the screen on the console, in case your wondering." The Doctor said. Twilight and Sunset walked over to the console screen, and, sure enough, the Doctor was sitting there, with a TARDIS wall behind him. His glasses were on, and he wore his brown suit, with a dark blue shirt, and a brown and blue stripped tie. "How are you communicating with us?" Twilight asked. "Oh, it's simple really." The Doctor explained. "I'm back in the TARDIS, and am transmitting the signal back in time to your timeline using a reverse feedback loop, carried with the power of the Rift, as well as the TARDIS Eye of Harmony, so we can communicate through time." Sunset and Twilight exchanged a glance of confusion. "Could you explain it in simpler terms?" Twilight asked. The Doctor rolled his eyes, and signed. "I'm sending a communication link back in time so I can talk to you." He said in a dreary voice. "But, I didn't think time worked that way." Sunset said. The Doctor sighed again. "People don't understand time, it's not what you think it is." "Then what is it?" Twilight asked. "Complicated." The Doctor replied. "How complicated?" "Very complicated." "Could you try and uncomplicate it?" Sunset asked. The Doctor thought for a moment, and licked his lips. "People assume that time is a strict progression from cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective, viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey- whimey stuff." "I think that sentence got away from you." Sunset said. "It got away from me, yeah." The Doctor said. "Okay, let me get this straight, you can hear us?" Twilight said. "Well, I can hear you." "From the future?" "Well, not hear you exactly, but I know everything your gonna say." "How?" "Look to your left." Twilight did so, and saw a small camera on the side of the TARDIS wall. "The camera?" "Yep. I'm watching the footage from it, while sending this transmission back to that time as well." "Then how did you get it?" "Oh come on, I'm a time traveler, I got it in the future." "It's still confusing." "Wibbly-wobbly, timey-whimey." The Doctor said. "Look what matters is, we can communicate, we have big problems now. The TARDIS is caught in a temporal schism, meaning it's going to jump between three different time periods several times, and then it'll just fall into the void." "What's the void?" Sunset asked. "It's the space between dimensions. Each parallel universe is stacked up against each other, the void is the space in between." The Doctor explained. "My people call it the void, the Eternals call it the Howling. But, some people call it Hell." "So, what do we do?" Twilight asked. "Well, since we probably don't want to go to Hell, I need you two to follow my instructions." The Doctor said. "First, you'll need a sonic screwdriver." "But, how do we get one of those?" Twilight asked. "I was getting to that, thanks." The Doctor replied. "Sorry." "If you go to second room on the third floor, you'll find cabinet in the entry way. Open it, and you'll find a toolbox. Inside it is a sonic screwdriver, it looks a bit like this." The Doctor held up a drawing of a of a sonic screwdriver. "I'll go get it." Sunset said and ran off. The Doctor turned to Twilight. "All right, so here's what we need to do..."
