//------------------------------// // Chapter Two // Story: [C] Hard Working Princess // by scribe-feather //------------------------------// Hard Working Princess Chapter Two By Scribe Feather ✶✶2✶✶ Celestia slept, for lack of a better phrase, like a baby that night. She couldn't recall the dreams that her relaxed mind dazzled her with, but she could remember the lingering good feelings they left behind. Every night was spent like this, leaving the princess refreshed and rejuvenated.. She slipped effortlessly into her dreams every night and was able to slip back to being awake every morning. The crib seemed to bring a sense of security and peace to the stressed mind of the princess. Other than the peculiar change to her sleeping arrangements, life for the Princess of the Sun continued as usual. Her nerve-racking work continued like always, however she noticed a considerable reduction of stress from a good night's sleep. She was rather embarrassed to admit it, but sleeping in a foal's crib had actually helped her a lot. However Phosphor didn’t stop there. Another strange addition to Celestia's daily routine was the new training potty that now sat in her bathroom. It seemed redundant to have the big plastic furnishing sitting across from the real toilet, but Phosphor seemed insistent. With this new addition also came new rules to which Phosphor was quick to recite for the busy princess. "This bathroom will remain locked when not in use, except at night so you don’t have to wake anypony up," Phosphor explained as a guard placed the large plastic training potty on the bathroom floor. "If you need to use the potty you'll have to find me." "But what if it's an emergency?" Phosphor answered back with an understanding tone. "You need to learn to rely on me for it. Its an important part of your treatment." Celestia appeared uncertain about all these changes and Phosphor was quick to notice. "I will come by and check on you every now and then. Your body will get into the rhythm soon enough." Even with Phosphor giving her sound reasoning on the choice, Celestia still had her doubts about the choice. The pink plastic training potty stood out among the regal and white features of the bathroom. She already knew it’d be incredibly embarrassing to use the childish thing every time, let alone asking for permission to do so. “Would you like to try it out now?” Phosphor interrupted Celestia’s train of thought. “Well I don’t really need to go that badly...” Celestia stared at the pink “All the better to test it out,” Phosphor answered. “Come now, I’ll help you.” Celestia’s cheeks grew pink as Phosphor took her by the hoof like a child. By the other pony’s guiding hoof she found herself gliding closer towards the childish toilet. She slowly lowered herself onto the large hunk of plastic, shivering for a moment as the cool plastic made contact with her butt. The potty chair was an unusual place to sit for the regal pony. It’s stouter height made her legs bow out in front of her, making her feel like she was squatting more than sitting. Her cheeks burned warmly with embarrassment as she sat there on her pink throne. She stared at the ground the entire time, wanting to avoid making eye contact with Phosphor who patiently waited at the door. A long ten minutes passed by as the two ponies waited in silence. Throughout this time Celestia begged her body for cooperation, desperately trying to coax it into using the plastic potty. Strong mental barriers kept her bladder from releasing, no matter how full she perceived it to be. Every now and then she would look up from her plastic throne and see Phosphor watching patiently from the doorway. The unicorn would still have that patient, warm smile on her face no matter how long the wait was. After waiting for so long for her body to obey, Celestia finally opted to closing her eyes, mentally flushing any worries she might of had to give her a blank mind. Another ten minutes passed, the alicorn’s body still refusing. However in the blankness of her mind, she felt she was making some progress. Slow and tedious progress, but progress all the same. As if answering her prayers, a hollow hissing sound suddenly erupted from inside the potty’s container. Her bladder finally started to listen to her commands, releasing itself into the plastic basket that hung inside the potty. She refused to open her eyes however, convinced that one glance up at Phosphor would make her pee shyness strike back with a vengeance. The loud hissing continued for a solid minute until it finally trickled to nothing. With the embarrassing and stressful task completed, Celestia finally opened her eyes. She turned to face Phosphor, who smiled at her proudly from her spot by the door. “All done?” the unicorn asked gently. “I-I think so,” the princess meekly answered. “Was it that so bad?” “I guess not,” Celestia answered. Looking back at it now, the ordeal of using a training potty instead of the normal one wasn’t THAT much different. If anything it was only five feet away from her usual spot. The biggest threshold was the fact that she’d be supervised from here on in. “Why don’t you go get cleaned up and ready for bed. It’s about that time,” Phosphor chimed in. Celestia pulled herself up from the training potty, catching a faint glimpse of the pool of yellow water that floated inside the training potty. “B-but what about-?” “I’ll clean up the mess, sweetie. Don’t you worry,” Phosphor gave Celestia another warm smile before guiding her out the room. “O-okay,” Celestia complied, finding a hint of solace in knowing that she had somepony to look after her like that. Without another word, she shuffled off to her bedroom. After only a few weeks of the new sleep schedule Celestia found herself getting use to the extra hours of sleep. She would become tired earlier in the day and the nightly routine that Phosphor walked her through became second nature before she knew it. She didn’t put up a fuss when Phosphor helped her get ready for bed each night, finding the pony easy to rely on. In fact she practically expected it, waiting patiently for the unicorn to lower the crib gate every night. She complacently allowed the other pony to tuck her in every night. “Goodnight, sweetie,” Phosphor softly said, raising the crib gate. “Goodnight Phosphor,” Celestia said with a yawn, snuggling into the warm blanket that was draped over her body. The overhead lights were turned off and in a matter of minutes she drifted off to sleep. The room silence faded out of her conscious and was slowly replaced with chirps of little birds and the rustling of leaves. Suddenly Celestia found herself standing on a small bridge, one that stretched across a wide river bed and connected two sides of a thickly wooded forests. The numerous leaves that filled the many branches overhead were richly green and healthy as they vibrated in the gentle breeze. Colorful birds fluttered from one branch to the next, chirping away their little songs that reverberated off the quiet world. Celestia paused for a moment to listen to the little birds, calmed by their music and relaxed by their simplistic fluttering. She took in a steady sigh, breathing in the fresh, outdoor air. She then peeked over the bridge's railing, the sturdy wood holding firmly against her weight. She diverted her attention to the little stream that trickled down the wide, rocky river bed beneath the bridge. It was rather odd to see such a thin stream flowing through a wide river bed and even odder to build a bridge over something so small. As she watched it more and more, the thin ribbon of water began to widen. Steadily more water began to flow under the bridge. In a matter of minutes, the little stream turned into a wide, slow moving river that better matched the pebble covered river bed. Instead of wondering how such a river could grow so quickly and yet so calmly, Celestia felt at peace. She leaned against the sturdy wooden railing and sighed, listening to the flow of water and the chirps of the birds. The dream suddenly fell away and was quickly swapped with reality. With tired, stinging eyes, Celestia awoke from her slumber. A cold, wet patch could be felt around her waist. A tentative hoof lowered itself down onto the offending spot. It came back moist and much to Celestia's disbelief it smelled faintly of urine. "Im-impossible!" Celestia groaned, her hoof darting back down to the wet patch to confirm that she did in fact wet herself. With a glow of her horn, the crib gate was magically lowered as she hastily hopped out of the wet bed, her inner thigh quickly freezing in the nightly air. Celestia stared at the yellow patch on the mattress as her wet fur clung to her inner thighs. She felt humiliated, ashamed, almost terrified. She fought back small tears in the corner of her eyes as she stared at the mess. "M-miss Phosphor!" She heard herself weakly force out. In the distant castle rooms she could hear movement. Her pink tinted ears followed the hoofsteps through the nearby rooms and down the connected hallway. Shortly after Phosphor was entering her room, staring at the white alicorn in her embarrassed state. Now with the other pony there and staring at her embarrassing display of bed wetting, Celestia felt a crushing feeling of shame fall upon her. Her voice shook only a tiny bit as she did her best to hold it back. "I...I just don't know what happened!" "Oh sunny bun," Phosphor cooed, trotting to the crib to inspect the damage. She avoided looking at the large wet spots that stained Celestia's rump to keep whatever was left of the alicorn's pride intact. "I was afraid this would happen," she nodded, "I shouldn't have let you go to bed without protection. It was only a matter of time," she stated as she shook her head to herself. She then turned to the other pony, patting Celestia’s cheek as she comforted the princess. "Well, I suppose this is a good indication. We'll be moving to the next step then." With that said, Phosphor trotted to the closet. As Celestia did her best to recuperate herself, Phosphor dug through the boxes inside. She then pulled out a soft plastic box and brought it over to the princess. The box was bright pink with white fluffy clouds dotting it's eye catching shell. With the use of a vibrant, cloud shaped font, the words 'Dry Clouds Pull Ups' could be seen on the front. "Y-you mean I'll have to..." "I'm afraid so, sweetie," Phosphor said as she gently placed the pack of pull ups on the ground, ripping a slit on the top. "Tell you what, you can put this one on yourself. No help from me at all!" Celestia sighed a defeated sigh, taking hold of a pull up from the pack and floating it in front of her. The crinkling garment didn’t seem all that thick, but the humiliating design made it difficult for her to hold back the shame that swelled up inside of her. A crib was one thing, but wearing a pullup with little flower shaped wetness indicators seemed to be unnecessary. "Oh sweetie, it won’t be hard, I promise," Phosphor consoled the alicorn, giving her a light hug, "getting use to wearing pull ups is an important step in your treatment." Celestia hugged Phosphor back, feeling a little bit better about her predicament while in her caretaker’s hold. Meanwhile Phosphor proceeded to magically float the pull up out of the alicorn’s hooves. She continued to pat Celestia’s back as her magic floated the pull up down to her feet. With careful and well practiced levitation, she slowly threaded Celestia’s hooves through the pull up, tugging it up between her legs. Celestia was fully aware of the invading pull up and had half a mind to refuse. But once the crinkling thing was securely around her rump, she found it less intimidating. It felt thinner than she expected, almost nonexistent considering how her worried mind made it out to be. And with the extra padding around her waist, she felt protected, less likely to have this sort of accident happen again, and in a strange way relaxed. Phosphor continued to console the princess, occasionally patting her back and insuring her that everything was going to be okay. With another glow of her horn, she quickly changed the sheets of the crib, swapping the starry printed sheets out for a brighter colored one with little flowers dotting it’s surface. “Good as new,” she said as the old bed sheets floated next to her head in a ball. Celestia felt a little better with the pull up and the fresh sheets to sleep in. At least she wouldn’t have to smell urine while she slept. With quiet crinkles from her pull up accompanying her, she climbed back into the crib, allowing Phosphor to lovingly tuck her in under a fresh, warm blanket. "Sleep tight, sunny bun," Phosphor said as she flicked the bedroom lights out. "G-g'night," Celestia quietly said back, wiping the last watery eye she'd be having tonight.
