Friendship: a new type of animalism.

Clover's memories

Clover was just in Ponyville, running some errands for Her friends. She looked at the stalls for any food, and saw that Applejack was running an apple stand near Sugarcube Corner. She really didn't like doing these errands, but on the positive side, there was now long ling to wait in, three costumers were only there as a matter of fact. She took a spot at the end of the line for any apples available, and all of a sudden, she thought of Boxer. She thought of the good times they had together when he was still alive. She and Boxer were really great friends even before Jones' evil days. She thought of the time a lamb sprained her hoof while landing on the fields while prancing in an awkward landing. She and Boxer would help and comfort the crying baby, and Clover would patch the poor lamb up with a cast, making him all better.

Next, she remembered the times when she and Boxer weren't working in the fields, they would play with each-other, and graze on the farm's grass side by side with Benjamin, and then looking at the drinking pool with him, and then the really painful memory with him being sent to the glue factory, making her shed a single tear from her eye. Next to Benjamin, Boxer was one of her closest comrades, no, they could have been mates of Napoleon didn't overwork him and send him the damned knackers. Those memories are all that was left of Boxer, and nothing more. All of a sudden, right in the middle of her thoughts, She gently felt a tapping on her backside. She gave a little startled gasped and looked back.

There was a line behind Clover, looking a little impatient with her. "Aren't going to move soon?" said Bon Bon. The other ponies behind her made comments like "Move it" or "get to the front of the line.

"S... sorry!" said Clover sheepishly. she made a nervous laugh, and went to the front. "Hello, Applejack." she said

"Ah, howdy Clover." said Applejack. "Are you alright? Because you looked a little... frozen."

"It's- it's nothing." said Clover. "I just... got a little distracted."

"Right... so, what can I do you for?" said Applejack, returning to business.

"I need a large barrel of apples, please." Clover answered. She dug her hoof into her side-bag, and placed five bits on the counter to show Applejack that she can afford it. "Will this cover it?" she asked

"Yep, well. I can make an exception for you." said Applejack. "Would you like to buy it for free?"

"Why is that?" clover asked curiously

"Well, you and all your friends been through a rough life haven't you? So how about I make an exception."

Clover thought about it for a moment, and was touched by Applejack's kindness. "Very well." she answered, and put her bits back in her bag. Applejack then pulled out a large bag for Clover to carry that consisted of ten to fifteen apples inside.

"So, may I ask what you're doing with these apples?" Applejack asked.

"Oh, I am going to give them to the orphanage for all those homeless foals." Clover answered.

"Well that's mighty kind of you, Clover. I'm pretty sure that Old Major would be very proud of you." said Applejack admiring Clover's kindness. Clover smiled back at her. She was about to leave the stand to the Ponyville orphanage when Applejack stopped her again.

"Wait, I also wanted to ask you, what were you daydreaming about?" Applejack asked

Clover felt very uncomfortable, for she didn't feel like talking about Boxer, for it was too painful. "Nothing." was all she replied. "Nothing important that you would want to hear."

"Okay." said Applejack, kind of knowing that she was lying or holding something inside of Clover like a secret she won't share.

"Well, I might as well be on my way." said Clover about to leave. "Thank you, Applejack."

"You're mighty welcome, Clover." Applejack replied. "Pleasure doin' business with ya." Clover smiled at her response, and went to the orphanage, with the next costumers asking for apples now.

Clover was at the lake not to far away from town, and was looking at her reflection. At the orphanage, everypony was happy to have some food donated to them. All of the children thanked Clover for it. However, it did not stop her from thinking about Boxer. She just stared deep into the lake's waters, and then she saw Boxer as a reflection instead of her own face.

One of Clover's memories

It was a very beautiful evening on Animal far, which was called Manor Farm. This was long before Mr. Jones became a cold, mean, cruel, and an abusive farmer before the damaging lawsuit that came to him

"Oh, Boxer. The beauty of this drinking pool is so sparkling beautiful." Clover said looking at the drinking pool at Animal Farm in the sunset.

"I agree." said Boxer. "I am blessed that we have this beautiful pond as our own drinking pool."

"So am I boxer. God be praised." Clover replied. They laid on the soft green grass looking into the beautiful sunset sky, side by side and nuzzling eachother's faces.

End of Clover's memory

Clover began to shed a few tears, just thinking about those really happy memories of his dead fiance. "Oh Boxer." said Clover. "I wish you were still here right now. I.... i miss you." then she began to sob a little more. While sobbing she covered her face, and her tears dropped into the green grass of Equestria.

"Clover?" said a familiar voice. "Are you alright?"

Clover lifted her face up and saw Jessie walking up to her. "Oh, i- i'm fine, Jessie." she said, wiping the tears so that Jessie wouldn't noticed. "Just fine." Then she turned her face back to the lake so that Jessie wouldn't see her crying.

As Jessie was right next to her, and said with a comforting voice "Please, Clover. Look me in the face. What's wrong?"

Clover couldn't lie any longer, She said while sobbing "I miss Boxer alright! You happy?" she then began to cry a little more louder and buried her face in the grass.

"Oh, Clover." said Jessie with great sympathy, she gently touch the side of her back with her paw. "I miss him too."

Indeed, Jessie did feel Clover's pain, and wished that the evil berkshire Napoleon hadn't take poor Boxer to the knacker's for he most definitely did not deserve something as horrible as that. If only... if only Jessie, Benjamin, Muriel, and Clover could have been there earlier to protect him before getting to the death van. "Look, would you like to go to Sugarcube Corner?" she asked her.

Clover didn't reply for a few seconds until she said at last "I... I suppose."

Jessie smiled, and said "Good. But... would you like to stay here for a little while?"

"Please." Clover replied. Then she and Jessie sat together looking at the beautiful lake in the morning light.
