 There once was a pegasus pony named Derpy. She had a grey coat, blond hair, and gold eyes, and was very clumsy and kind of derped, hence her name. Well, at least her eyes were derped. She was a mail pony. Her colt friend, Time Turner Whooves, was a brown earth pony with dark brown hair, blue eyes and an hour glass cutie mark, who was very geeky and protective, loved her dearly, but later he grew distant. One day, Derpy went to work on her usual route. But when she tried to get her mail bag, her boss said she didn’t work there. "Derpy, if you don't have any mail to send, then go home," he said. Derpy looked at him weirdly. That didn’t make sense, so maybe he was playing a weird joke. 
She sighed. She finally gave up after 15 minutes of arguing with her boss. When she got home, she looked and saw her cutie mark wasn’t a bubble stream. It was a treble clef! That was Tavi’s cutie mark! She screamed. First her boss, and now THIS!? What the hay was going ON?! Then she remembered: Twilight’s friends’ Cutie Marks were switched, too. The Magical Mystery Cure was happening to her!
The next day, Octavia, a grey earth pony with violet eyes and black hair, who loved classical music, was on her way to the TARDIS. She knocked on the TARDIS door, and Time Turner answered the door. There was a look of fear in his eyes. Octavia asked him what was going on, and showed him her new Cutie Mark. Time gasped and said the same thing had happened to Derpy! It’s like they stepped in to another universe.

Together, Derpy and Octavia ran to Bon Bon’s house. Bon Bon was a cream colored earth pony with blue eyes, blue-and-pink hair, and usually a three-wrapped-candies cutie mark. But now she had a harp cutie mark! That was Lyra’s cutie mark! They ran to Lyra’s house and found Lyra in her living room. Lyra was a mint colored unicorn with golden eyes, mint-and-white hair, and usually a harp cutie mark, who was completely obsessed with humans. But now it was a stream of bubbles! Derpy’s original cutie mark! 

Together, the four mares galloped to find Vinyl Scratch, Octavia’s irresponsible unicorn twin sister. Vinyl had a pearly white coat, spiky blue-and white hair, violet eyes like her sister, and usually a music note cutie mark. But now it was three wrapped candies instead! What's going on, thought Derpy. Octavia looked as though all her fears had come true.
The five mares ran back to Derpy’s house, to find that Time Turner had disappeared. 

Dear friends, 
I had to run away because this mystery is no mystery. This is all my fault. I should have never have went back in time to save Derpy from her own past mistake.

Derpy read the letter over and over. When she read the letter for the tenth time, enough realization of the matter made her see what was really happening. She started crying. “H-h-he l-l-left because he changed the course of history to save me from my third grade science experiment. It exploded, leaving me with my derped eyes,” she exclaimed, “and by doing that, he switched everypony’s cutie marks.” She started crying again. 
Vinyl was confused. “What does your third grade science experiment have to do with our cutie marks?” she asked. She didn’t realize that Derpy’s experiment happened on the exact same day they all got their cutie marks. Derpy began to explain. “My experiment happened on June 17th. The exact same day we all got our cutie marks. Don’t you remember we were all in the same class that year?” 
The truth was: they did remember. That same day, after Derpy’s experimental disaster, they all found their special talents, thus receiving their cutie marks. 
Vinyl was quick to comfort her friend. “We’ll find him, Derpy. And we’ll set everything right.” First they had to find Time Turner, then convince him to go back in time to stop himself from changing history, thus saving every pony’s destinies. 

Derpy finally stopped crying. She stood up and said, “Come on, everypony. Pack up some supplies into your saddle bags. We’re going to find Time Turner. I’ll give you each a list with what you need written down.” She ran to get some paper from a near-by desk. She grabbed a quill, and began to write: 
Bring the following items:
canteen full of water
sleeping bag 
apples
celery
carrots
tent
compass
headphones with built-in microphones
flint and steel
matches
Please do NOT pack any other electronics besides the headphones.
Derpy ran to the copy machine and made five copies of the list she wrote. She passed out the lists to her five friends and kept the original copy. “Alright everypony! Pack up ONLY the items on your lists. Take one pair of saddle bags. When we run out of food Lyra and Vinyl will summon more with their magic. When we run out of matches we will use the flint and steel to make a spark. When we run out of water we will find a river to refill our canteens. And we will use our headphones to communicate with each other if we split up. Vinyl, you can get the headphones.” Derpy smiled at her friend.

  5 days later…
Derpy, Octavia, Vinyl, Lyra and Bon Bon trekked through the deep, dark terrain that was the Everfree forest. So far they found nothing that gave a clue about Time Turner. “Derpy, how long are we gonna keep this up? We’ve been walking for hours on end, and what have we found? NOTHING! When are we gonna take-” Vinyl was interrupted by Derpy screeching, “I FOUND TRACKS! Let me scan them to see if they’re Time’s.” She used her golden magic aura to scan the tracks, and saw that they were Time Turner’s tracks! “Yay! He went this way! Follow me!” She ran in the direction the tracks led to.
“DERPY! COME BACK! Oh no! She’s gone! After her!” Vinyl led the chase to catch up with Derpy. 
 An hour later…
Derpy ran to find her coltfriend. She had to set things right with him. But she only knew that the tracks would lead her to her true love. She knew he only left because he changed the past and didn’t realize the consequences. No matter what would happen, she would find him. No matter what it took. 
When Derpy got to the end of the trail, she found a tent and a pony snoring inside of it. When she looked inside the tent, she found her missing coltfriend sleeping alone with his teddy bear. He was cute when he was asleep.

When Time woke up, he had a mare sleeping next to him. He didn’t realize she was Derpy until after she woke up. “Good morning, Time. I’ve been looking for you. Why did you run away?” Time was speechless for once. Derpy had a playful edge to her voice. That must’ve meant that she knew why he ran away. 
“You know what? I know why you left.” She got up and walked toward him. “You left because you changed history and changed everyone’s cutie marks. But what doesn’t make sense is how we all remember our true talents and pasts. How come we haven’t forgotten? Shouldn’t we forget?” Time was baffled. How could they remember? Twilight’s friends forgot, didn’t they?
Time was getting up and walking toward the opening of the tent. He heard hoofsteps coming toward the tent. When he stuck his head outside the tent, he saw four mares running toward him. He soon realized that the four mares coming towards him were Bon Bon, Vinyl, Octavia, and Lyra.
What are they all doing here? he thought, I ruined their lives by changing the past! Derpy came over to the tent door. “What is it, Time?” she asked. Then she saw her four friends rushing towards the tent, too.
“What… Oh. They followed me here,” Derpy said. Wow they really know how to follow tracks, she thought. The four mares were getting closer and closer to the tent. Derpy and Time Turner taught them everything they knew about survival and tracking.

As the six friends neared home they saw pegasi flying in the air carrying search lights. They’re searching for us, Time thought. Time and the others galloped out of the woods and into the light of the search lights. “There they are!” some pony shouted. It was Rainbow Dash, a cyan-coated pegasus mare with rainbow-colored hair, raspberry eyes, and a primary-colored lightning-bolt-in-a-cloud cutie mark. 
Rainbow was famous for her speed and agility. Little known fact was she was the third daughter of Equestria’s Princess Celestia Liana-Celeste Starlight. Rainbow Dash, commonly known as Dashie, flew toward the six missing ponies. “Where have you been?!” she asked angrily.
“Dashie, we’ve been looking for Time Turner for 5 days and Derpy was the one that found him first,” Octavia explained, “It’s a very interesting tale--” Dashie interrupted Octavia, “I don’t care if you went to Pluto at the end of the solar system! Time, travelling back in time and changing the past is OUTLAWED here if ya didn’t know!” 
Oh, now she’d done it! When Derpy heard those words, she went ballistic! She flew straight up into Dashie’s face and bellowed, “SEE HERE DASH, I DIDN’T RUN ALL THE WAY INTO THE FRIGGING EVERFREE FOREST TO GET TIME TURNER BACK JUST TO LOSE HIM AGAIN!!! IF YOU WANNA ARREST HIM, YOU GOTTA GO THROUGH ME!!!!” Octavia stepped up and said, “And me.” 
Vinyl said, “And me.”
Lyra said, “And me.”
Bon Bon: “And me.”
Dashie knew she was stumped when her friends Pinkie, AJ, Twilight, Flutters and Rarity stepped up and said no. She sighed and said reluctantly, “Fine… He can stay out cause he’s got 10 ponies backin’ him.” The ten ponies cheered. 
epilogue
7 months later...
Derpy and Time Turner were on their way to Canterlot, the capital of Equestria, to have dinner because Time wanted to give Derpy a surprise that would change their lives forever. Time fixed everything that he messed up with his friends. He was tapping his hooves on the seat the whole ride. It’s just dinner, Time, he thought to himself, you’re going to give her that ring and ask her to marry you. What are you afraid of?
Just about everything. Derpy saying no. Derpy laughing at him. Him dropping the ring in his food. The list goes on and on. 
When they got to Canterlot, they walked down the street from the train station and ended up in the shopping district. “Where are we?” Derpy then saw the sign. “Shopping district? We need the restaurant district!” Time looked over at the town directory sign. “Alright, we need to take Martini Road onto Fillydelphia street. Then onto 74th street and then a right to go to the restaurant district,” he finished.
After four minutes of walking they finally made it to the restaurant district. “Finally!” Derpy said, “Now we can go eat. Now where did you say we were eating at?” 
The problem is he forgot to make reservations at a restaurant. So they had to wait to get a table at someplace. So they went to the nearest restaurant and waited ten minutes. “So… Time, why did you bring me to Canterlot? I mean, we have a couple restaurants in Ponyville." They finally went to their 'table for two'.
Time ordered a daffodil sandwich and Derpy ordered a maroon carrot soup. Time was half-way done with his water when he answered. “Derpy, there is something I’ve been meaning to ask you… Well, you’ve been my marefriend for two years now and I’ve wanted to ask you this.” He pulled the ring case from his pocket. “Will you marry me?” he asked nervously, anticipating her answer.
Derpy looked at the ring with a surprised look on her face. She’s going to say no, he thought. But that wasn’t her answer at all. She smiled with her eyes wide and gleaming and said, “YES!” 
Now it was Time’s turn to beam. “Y-y-yes?” he said nervousitedly. He was both nervous and excited at the same time. Derpy nodded vigorously. “YES!” he repeated.
