Is life worth it?

by Super57

Is life worth it? .......yes it is, and I'll prove it to you!

Chris sighed.

He has had many things happen to him in life, but it's all been getting to him now.

His parents, his social life, his loneliness, his feelings, his everything. He started wondering about his well-being and thought of one thing.

Is life worth it? Chris thought, sadly.

He thought of the many things that happened in his life.

His parents being liars, his social life to never having friends, and to how he was always alone to himself in life. He tried SO HARD to go and be social. But it never worked, and he would always get scared or too shy and just become awkward.

His parents left him in the middle of the street when he hit 17 years old and he's been all by himself for 3 years. He just didn't know anymore if life was worth it anymore.

Chris fixed his glasses so he could see straight. He had two hands, and many things in his bought home. Rope, Hands, a gun that he bought for protection, and many more things.

"How should I end it?" Chris whispered, tearfully.

Chris was crying, and he knew it. For his glasses started getting foggy and he was sniffing. His life sucked. Hard.

There were many tries he did to make it better, but his life never did get better. Not one bit.

He got a job, was fired the next day. Found an actual friend, who was dared to be with him. He got a house, till it was terminated and brunt to a crisp the next two days. His life just got worse and worse.

He hoped that his life would change around when he finally hit that spot, but he never did.

Chris closed his eyes and tried stopping his emotions from taking over. He knew if is emotions took over, that he would never end his life. Ever. But with how things have been going......he is going to be doing that very soon.

When Chris got up, he heard someone knock on the door.

Chris sighed.

"Hold on! I'm on my way!" Chris yelled out.

He walked towards his old wooden door and knew exactly what was waiting on the other side.

He opened it and put on the best sincerest smile he could muster.

"Yes........AJ?" Chris asked.

In front of him was an orange pony and her friends looking at Chris with worried stares.

"Are....you all right?" AJ asked.

Chris grinned.

"I completely fine! Nothing's wrong!" Chris stated.

Applejack looked nervous.

"Well....it's just mah friends have told me that you've been secluding yourself to your house and never coming out. They said it's been almost three weeks now. ......Are you really all right?" AJ asked, raising an eyebrow.

Chris sighed.

Out of anyone Chris knew, AJ was the only one that truly cared. Ever since he's came here to Equestria from an accident and was made a monster from Princess Celestia herself, Chris has been more alone then usual.

When he first met AJ and her friends, they weren't so close as they are now.

In fact, they were supposed to arrest Chris and imprison him before he did anything dangerous. The only reason Celestia and Luna changed their minds of not imprisoning him was because of AJ.

Unlike her friends, AJ saw what Chris was really like.

How scared and lonely he felt. When AJ found Chris sitting in a corner in fear with tears, she knew right then and there that Chris was not a monster.

She is the element of Honesty after all.

"I.....am not ok AJ," Chris said, being sincere.

AJ then listened very closely, while the others looked curious.

"I am just thinking about life and how..........it was for me," Chris said, smiling sadly.

AJ folded her ears.

"You've been wanting to go home for a while huh?" AJ asked, heart-broken.

"No I haven't," Chris replied bluntly.

"With how my life's been, I am happy that I ain't there on Earth anymore," Chris said.

"How so?" Twilight asked.

Chris looked over to her.

"My life was a living hell. People may not understand, and ponies may not understand, but my life sucks way more then anyone will ever think," Chris said, putting his head down in pity.

"I had no friends, no caring parents, no happy smiles, and no other things," Chris muttered.

'That may seem a bit much to you.....but it's how I feel,' Chris thought to himself.

"And then?" Twilight asked.

Chris tched.

"And then I thought about how life is really worth it or not and wondered how it's really worth living," Chris said.

The others looked really concerned now. AJ looked at Chris with eyes that spoke everything. Care.

"Is there anything you need to feel better?" Fluttershy asked, shyly.

Chris blinked and then stated, "With you guys needing to leave and letting me be by myself? Yes I'd love that," Chris said, rolling his eyes.

He shut the door, and sat on his couch.

He looked up at the ceiling in thought.

He heard clopping sounds going away from his house and was relieved that they would leave him alone.

"*sigh* Now then.....how should I do it?" Chris told himself.

He was still trying to figure out.....how should he kill himself?

By rope? By hands? Or by being killed?

Chris shook his head. No, if he was gonna die, It would be by his hand and his alone.

So, Chris got up to go and get the rope ready. Till another knock was heard.

Chris face-palmed.

"God dammit AJ," Chris muttered.

Chris went over to the door and opened it to a lone Applejack at his front door.

She frowned at Chris, "It's just me now. Can ah come in? So we can.....talk about this?" Jj asked.

Chris looked left and right to make sure they were really alone.

He looked at AJ.

"Are you microphoned?" Chris asked, skeptically.

AJ looked confused, and Then realization dawned on her.

"No! I would never do that! Your my friend Chris! Hay, if I wasn't friends with Twilight and the others. You'd be my greatest friend ever!" She said, making a huge smile for Chris.

That was another thing.

Whenever Chris looked at her big beady green eyes, he always felt his heart soar. At least a tiny bit.

If he had a reason to why life was worth it....he would say because of Applejack. But that would be too simple. For he has had a crush on the orange pony ever since they started getting to know each other. Which was about.........9 months ago. Chris met Her sister, her brother, her granny and much more. But out of all the company he had, He always loved AJ's company the most.

Applejack was probably his only true friend too in this world.

Chris regained some of his smile.

"All right.....come in then," He said, mentioning for Aj to come in.

She smiled and trotted in.

Her brown stetson hat, her green eyes, her hair, everything about her made Chris different. Made him........happy.

She sat her haunches on the couch and Chris sat by her.

"Now then......where can you start so I can make some sense sugar?" AJ asked.

She always said sugar when they were alone, Chris liked it. For she found a way to make their friendship even better.

Chris frowned, "This has been going on for a while, probably before I met you," Chris said, bitterly.

AJ shook her head and mentioned for Chris to continue.

"I was abandoned by my parents. left by myself in the world. No food, no water, no nothing. I don't even know how I got any money in order to live. But I did, and even though I did my life never did get better," Chris said.

"It just got worse," Chris added.

"How so?" AJ asked.

Chris felt himself shiver. Her accent and breath touched him, and he just felt more.........better.

'I love her apple breath so much," Chris thought to himself.

Chris did a cough and continued.

"I got fired from my job on the first day even thought I was early. I lost the house I had just two days when I got it. It burnt down and I became homeless. Then for about 3 years, I've been living off the street. Trying to live and get through life. It sucked and halfway down the adventure I started thinking: Is life worth it? And it just sticked with me," Chris said, sadly.

"It's sad, but also true. I also didn't have any friends to help or worry about me. The only friend I ever had was one who faked it for money and a dare. Told me the dare was to be with the "glass-wearing freak who is a loser." Or something like that," Chris said, starting to tear up.

He sniffed, then felt Applejack hug him.

"You've been through a lot for just being 20 years old, you know that right?" AJ said, in his ear.

"Yes," Chris said.

He felt a little light blush come up from the touch.

Then AJ grew a determined look and knew exactly what to tell Chris.

"I just want to tell you....is life worth it? Yes it is, and I'll prove it to you!" AJ said.

She looked at Chris in the eyes. Making it look like she was seeing him in his soul.

She smiled very big and caringly at Chris.

"You have never been alone, you've always had that feeling in your heart that it would get better! And it did! You met me, mah friends, and everypony else! I know that we aren't the same, but we've been there to help you threw think and thin. And ah wished I could've known sooner so I could've helped you," AJ said, tearing up.

"Life is worth it. To be with friends, with ponies who care for you, to be with ponies who protect you, to have fond memories of your life when your old, and" AJ looked at Chris in silent.

"Life is also worth it to find your one true love for life," AJ said.

She mentioned her point by giving a kiss to Chris on the lips. Full on.

Which she ended it with a smack and smiled.

"Life is worth it.....to be together, to fight together, and to always be there each other," AJ said.

"That, is why life is worth it," Aj ended.

Chris blinked.

Then smiled full on after who knows how long.

"Applejack?" Chris asked.

She hummed at Chris .

"I think.....I'll give life one more go. Just for you, and....for all the friends that I meet in life," Chris said, smiled at her.

They held each other a little bit closer, and fell asleep in each other's embrace.

Before Applejack fell asleep though, she looked out the window and put her hoof up.

Outside the house, were five ponies smiling at the view.

They left, and Aj smiled.

"Life is worth it.....for many more reasons then you think sugarcube, Because ah love you and we all care you. Way more then you think," AJ whispered in Christopher's ear fondly.

Then, she fell asleep and Things got better for Chris then on.

You know why? Because life IS worth it.

The end.
