My Best Friend, My Only Friend - GTA - Garret Chapter 3(BGR)

I watched as the blade stabbed through my friends neck withdrew. Ryu fell to his knees, turning around and we both got a look at the skeleton that stood before us. All of the skin had burned off of Scorpion. "I win," He said with a growl. I felt something change about myself, Crack. Red appeared in front of my vision in just a quick flash. Another flash. My eye started to twitch and a magma hot feeling rose in my chest. I started to breathe heavily and was starting to scare myself with how much I was losing control. I jerked suddenly as I felt a red hot feeling all over my skin. Red pooled over my vision, and it quickly faded to black.

My Best Friend, My Only Friend

Third Person

Luna was surprised at the figure that stood there. It was obviously who they had been fighting, but she was sure that he was supposed to look different. It appeared as though he was just a skeleton. Luna was wondering how he had even got here when she noticed that standing next to her, Garret was taking in short and progressively aggressive breaths. He clenched his fists then unclenched them looking up.

Garret looked up, but it didn't look like Garret anymore. He had red light that was emitting from his eyes. When he spoke his voice was different, as though another more angry person had decided to take over him, "Do you know, how excited I was to see him. I was excited at their possibly being another human being, so that I wasn't alone. I was thrilled that it was my best friend. Then yo- you... you harmed him. Without him even being here for a minute! You took that away from me."

"Am I supposed to be scared of you? What are you going to do? Stare me to death? Try to fall on me?" Scorpion cackled and spread out his arms. "Try to hurt me."

Garret looked at him and slowly walked over to where the skeleton was standing. He smirked and pulled out a green squareish object with box attached to the side and a red and yellow wires coming out of it. Scorpion seemed to show a surprised look, somehow with only having a skull, and quickly tried to take a step back. Garret jumped at him knocking him down he stuck the object onto Scorpions skull and kicked the rib cage of scorpion to make him stay down. Garret looked and saw that Twilight, Luna, and... Ryu, would be in the blast if he didn't move them. He grabbed ryu by his clothes and heaved him a safe distance of way, thinking he saw movement come from him, but found himself disappointed, and grabbing Twilight and Luna, one in each of his arms, and threw them under him. He pulled out a switch from his pocket and slammed it down onto the ground, as a large explosion erupted from behind him.

Debris flew everywhere and he looked back the smoke still clearing. The ponies around him seemed even more terrified of him, and even in his different state Garret still felt slightly hurt by this. Twilight and Luna got up from the ground looking at the smoke. As Twilight was about to speak a kunai came from the smoke. It looked as though it was intended for Garret, but unfortunately impaled Twilight in the stomach. Garret pulled out a knife and cut the rope before Scorpion could pull back. Twilight's friends, all forgetting about their fear of getting injured rushed over to help her. Garret looked as Scorpion came out of the smoke. "See?" said Scorpion, "You can't do anything to me. So have fun for the next few seconds, before you die!"

Then just as it seemed he was about to attack Garret, a bright purple light flashed throughout the room. The light was coming from the element in the Tree of Harmony. Suddenly an orange light shown, then blue, purple, yellow, and pink. They all started to come together. All of them pointing directly at Scorpion. Scorpion covered his nonexistent eyes as the colors merged into a rainbow fling at him. "What-" He didn't get to finish his sentence as the light shone through him.

As the light died down Garret looked at where Scorpion was standing. Where once there was a skeleton was, still a skeleton. However it now didn't look like bone. Scorpion was turned to stone. His form of him on his knees with his arm spread out behind him. Garret looked back at the ponies, that were now worrying about their friend and the blood coming from her stomach. He looked back at Ryu's co-body. It might be too late for him, but she can be saved. Garret looked contemplative, You'd better do this one, the one controlling Garret thought back, You are the better leader.

Garret's body shuddered again before blue light replaced the previous red light.

Luna looked at Twilight's friends, not knowing what to do. They were all screaming at each other. Each one of them trying to gain control. She wanted to tell them what to do but she found herself frozen. The death she had seen and the ruthlessness of these people made her remember. Remember back to a darker time. Suddenly Garret ran up. He seemed more authoritative now, and less intimidating. Garret spoke with a voice of power as well, "Is she still breathing?"

"Yes" Fluttershy's normally meek voice stood out over the arguing of he friends.

"Than you can still save her." Garret pointed at Rainbow Dash, "You, pick her up and get her to the hospital." Rainbow Dash turned around as though she wanted to retaliate, but a quick glance at Garret and she picked Twilight up, carrying her off. "Everyone else we have to get to the hospital quickly." Luna saw him look at the body of his friend again. He walked over to Ryu and picked him up. Garret sounded like he was whispering something to him before turning around and saying, "Let's go."

Luna made to follow before she stopped herself. How did Garret know that Rainbow Dash would be able to get Twilight to the hospital? She dismissed it for another time. Before she opened her wings though she noticed two things strange. The fact that nearby where Ryu had been there was two small spots of water, that she was sure hadn't been there before. Then she looked over at where Bowser was, seeing that the spot was empty of the turtles. She followed the footsteps until she saw them lead deeper into the Everfree Forest. Then she turned around and spread her wings to fly to the hospital.

Garret was running next to the ponies. Even with the added weight he knew he was currently running the fastest he had ever been before. He looked down at his friend he was carrying. Blood still seemed to be coming out of his bullet wound. He felt himself going faster and looked up to see he had gone ahead of the rest of the group. The hospital was in sight over the rest of the buildings in the town now. He kept running through stalls, ponies, and anything that got in his way. As he approached the hospital he realized that he wasn't going to be able to slow down in time to not hit the door. So taking a huge breath he readied the impact and charged ahead.

A giant crash he heard as glass fell around him. Some had pierced into his skin. Blood pouring out of the holes in his skin like magma from a volcano. Garret groaned and turned himself around seeing all the glass around him. He took a look at the frightened nurse in front of him, "I don't have to pay for that do I?" Garret said before his vision was once again consumed with darkness.

The ponies ran into the hospital, being careful to not touch the glass. They saw the hospital staff putting the new arrivals on stretchers to take them to their rooms, knowing they would be safe they all headed to find where Twilight was.

First Person: Garret

I woke up to feel the softness of a bed enveloping me into it's fluffy blankets. No that's not what I felt. Not even close. I awoke to feel my whole body hurt like hell and the blankets weren't that comfy. In fact they were the exact opposite. Opening my eyes and taking time to let them adjust to the brightness I realized why. Blood was on the bed. Bed. I didn't remember falling asleep. I didn't remember bleeding. As I started to question my surroundings the door to my room opened, it was Princess Luna and a doctor. At least he looked like one. The doctor had opened the door for Luna and he nodded at her, looked at me with a mixture of sadness and a flash of... anger? Then he closed the door.

I sat myself up and Luna took the chair to the right of my bed. She looked down thoughtfully before asking, "How are you doing?"

"Well besides waking up having no idea why I'm in a hospital with blood all over me, and this being the second time in this world that I've woken up in a bed... I'm great. Absolutely fine." The sarcasm dripped over my words like, well, like the blood all over me.

Conflict danced in her eyes before she spoke again, "You don't remember?"

"I remember parts of what happened earlier today... I think."

She looked at me again with sad eyes, "You didn't black out today. Garret, you've been unconscious for five days."

I couldn't believe my ears, "What?"

"You brought Ryu here so that he could be operated on after he was... injured."

"I did? I don't remember doing that." I thought about it carefully and realized that it had happened again. I had blacked out and experienced that again. Suddenly it clicked with me how my best friend was hurt. Luna must have seen my eyes go wide as she quickly spoke.

"Don't worry Garret. Ryu is in a room. He is... stable right now."

"I need to see him." I began taking out the tubes and wires that were connected to my body. Luna stood up and attempted to stop me but I pushed her hands away.

"Garret you can't, you need to rest you're injuries are bad as well."

"No, I don't need to rest. I need to see him." I had gotten up and already felt pain throughout my body. Every step seemed to be hurting me. I felt a coolness wrap around my body and saw a blue light on the corners of my vision. My steps seemed to become less tiring and a few seconds later I was able to walk. I looked back at Luna and saw her panting.

"It's hard to do spells like that, they require magic and strength." She looked up at me, "Go see him. He's in room 87." She sat down in her chair again, looking very tired.

I ran through the halls. Nearly knocking over multiple people in the process. Unluckily for many doctors I was not going to be stopped. I ran through the halls counting the numbers down until I finally reached room 87. The door nearly broke from how hard I swung it open. Ryu was lying down on the bed. His face and neck were covered in bandages. Which was good, because I could barely take the sight of seeing him with bandages.

I heard hoofsteps from behind me and turned to see the dame doctor that had brought Luna in my room. He had a dark red coat and bright blue eyes that contrasted greatly. The doctor didn't even seem to be surprised by my appearance. He looked at me in the eyes and said, "Are you his friend."

"Yes, why?" I said taken a bit off guard with the question rather than a demand that I get out of the room.

"I figured so. From the way you brought him in," I felt a slight hotness in my cheeks. He seemed to notice, "Don't worry, Princess Luna said that she would pay for the repairs of the glass door," He looked behind himself to see the nearly destroyed door, "And I assume that that will be covered as well. Anyways the reason that I ask is because you are the only other member of his species," The only other one alive, "So you have to decide on whether to go through an operation or not."

"Operation?"

"Yes, it's an operation that if done, will allow you're friend to go on living. Almost unaffected. All we have to do is fix the parts of his throats by cutting it open and healing him with concentrated magic in specific parts of his throat. It's a very good opposite compared to not taking the surgery, and keeping him on magical healing. He likely won't survive from that healing so-"

"What did you mean by almost unaffected?"

The doctor for the first time looked downcast, "If the operation is done... Ryu will never be able to speak again."

The statement hit me hard. I had to lean against the wall to prevent from falling over. The doctor noticed my nervousness, "I'll give you some time to think about what to do." He turned and closed the door as much as he could.

I didn't know what I was going to do. What do I do? My choices both end up badly. On one hand I can just not do anything to save my friend and possibly let my friend die. On the other, my friend could end up never to speak another word again. What was I going to do?

After several hours of debate I decided. I went outside and told the doctor my choice. He nodded and gave me a sincere look, as I could only remember back to his last words, "Equestria will be free of any other evils." I looked down at myself and saw my hands turn into shadowed claws. The thoughts of what else might have happened while I had blacked out. What other things had I done? I realized that Equestria may be free on the surface, but hiding in the depths is where the real evils hide. Where my evils are.

Ignore the double author's note at the top. There's also a reference with Ryu's door number. Let's see if someone can figure it out. Thanks for reading and I hope to get the next one out sooner. See ya.
