//------------------------------// // Prologue: A Story to Tell // Story: MLP: Heroes of Equestria (Season 1) // by SlashaDragos //------------------------------// Twelve years later... A young filly had put down the story book she was reading, the story of the Heroes of Equestria and their battle against Nightmare Moon. She had wanted to be just like them, to help and defend those that couldn't defend themselves and the Heroes had been her inspiration since she was born. The filly was happy that her father had written the book, though it slipped her mind to ask why he did. Just when she was about to put the book back where she found it, she heard her father's aged yet gentle voice behind her. "Reading that old thing? You like your stories, don't you? Just like your mother." The father said with a happy chuckle, causing the young girl pony to feel a little embarrassed. "W-Well, who doesn't like these stories? A-Anyways, aren't you at work today, daddy?" The filly asked. "That's an advantage of working with friends, kiddo. Taking a day off to spend more time with the family, though your mother seems to be napping at the moment. So it's just you and me for now." The stallion replied, this made the daughter excited, as she already had an idea of what they can do together. "Can you tell me more heroic stories, daddy?! Like the one in this book?! There's gotta be MORE adventures than just this one, right? I've heard some things from my friends but I've never heard it from you!" This request from the cute filly once again made the dad chuckle, he then sat down on his favorite chair, leaving a spot for his daughter to join him, which she happily did. "Nothing gets past you does it, little one? Well, I'm sure you've heard from the townsfolk, but things were often quiet 12 years ago... I can hardly believe it's been THAT long already... man, I feel old... but anyways, anypony here can tell you when things kicked off, they REALLY kicked off. But it wasn't all bad, some days were peaceful, sometimes even boring." "Well, I wanna hear EVERYTHING, daddy." The sweet little daughter's eyes glimmering with excitement. "Heh heh, okay then, if you really want to. I'll tell you everything from the beginning. All of this I'm about to tell you still shows up crystal clear in my mind and it has changed my life since." The father said with a deep breath and a clearing of his throat, he then got a blank book and a quill with ink, thinking he may as well write the story while briefly telling the events to his little girl, the filly focusing her attention all on her daddy. "And so our story begins..."
