Melody got up and looked into the distance.
“Rainbow Dash!” She could see Twilight’s friends, alongside hers and Princesses Celestia and Luna coming.
“Melody! You okay?” asked Greenie Hats.
“I… don’t think so…” she replied. “How did you all know we’re here?”
“I’ll explain this later,” said Princess Celestia. “Right now we need to help your brother. Take this, Twilight.”
Twilight got the item. To her surprise, it was her old crown, the Element of Magic! She looked at the others to find them wearing the Elements of Harmony as well.
“But… I thought that the Tree of Harmony needs them.”
“I’ve spoke to the tree. I told it that we’re using it in the case of an emergency.” She turned to Orion. “Right now I need to help him up. Luna?”
“Right here.” Together, with their combined magic, they restored some energy for him.
Orion, slowly regaining consciousness, opened his eyes.
“Oh, what…”
“Hang on, Orion. I got this.” Without hesitating, Melody took out one healing potion given by Zecora earlier and let him sip a few drops. In a minute, Orion was regaining strength.
“How are you doing?” asked Princess Luna.
“I think, I feel better now,” Orion got up, having his strength rejuvenated. “Wasn’t that Zecora’s potion?”
“Yeah, she gave it to me a while ago,” replied Melody. “Thank goodness it did came to use.”
“Well, Princess,” he turned to Princess Celestia. “How did you actually know we’re here?”
“I received your mother’s distress call a while ago. Then Luna and I went to the Tree of Harmony to obtain the Elements of Harmony, saying that we’re using the elements for emergency. Then I managed to gather your mother’s friends with some of yours as well to get to here.”
“I sent the distress signal the moment the entrance to here began to close,” said Twilight. “I promised to Princess Celestia to do this if anything wrong happens to me.”
“The moment I sensed Orion was in danger as well, we knew something terrible has happened,” she continued, briefly glancing at Queen Myra.
“But what about the others?” asked Melody.
“They’ve been told to evacuate this place as quick as possible because Princess is fearing something worse later,” answered Platinum Royale. “They’re in charge by your uncle, alongside Spike.”
“And how did you all came here without problem?” questioned Orion. “Did you use the same magic we did to enter?”
“It is the same magic, but I assume that Myra purposely did this for Twilight and her family, because all she wanted to target was Melody.” She turned to her. “Am I right, Myra?”
“Spot on, Princess,” replied Myra. “And I expect everypony to be my slaves tonight, because I have the power of Melody’s charm, and nopony can stop me!”
“Is that so? Because this is a part of the royal affair and it’s against the rules to steal it.”
“I guess I broke that. But, for the sake of my minions…”
Celestia turned to Melody. “Well…”
“I want to defeat her with my bare hooves and magic!” she said, determined.
“But don’t you know she’s invincible?” asked Twilight.
“Never mind, Princess Twilight. I’ve got a plan,” said Greenie Hats to her. “All we need to do is to weaken her defenses. Then I’m sure Melody will have the strength to finish her!”
“Are you sure this will work, Greenie?” asked Celestia.
“We’ve been discussing this on our way there!” said Pepper.
“And we’re not gonna let anything stop Melody from saving the world!” finished Chaos Control.
Melody felt touched. “Gee, you guys…” She shed a tear.
“As friends, we’ll always be around to help you,” said Beryl.
“We always know what friends are for, Sugarcube,” said Applejack.
“Always there for help,” added Fluttershy.
“Ain’t gonna leave ya behind!” said Rainbow Dash.
“You guys are so helpful. I can’t thank you even more enough with my sister,” said Orion. “I won’t let you all get hurt as well, and with that…” He turned to Myra, and powered up. “This is for my father!”
All of them prepared their stances.
“Well then, shall we continue?” asked Myra.
“Let’s,” replied Twilight.
“For the future of Equestria and the universe!” shouted Melody.
Myra launched a blast towards the group, and with them dodging in time, the real battle truly began.
It was a lot of hard work weakening her. With the aid of Rainbow Dash and Greenie Hats, they were able to land a few attacks upon Myra. Chaos’ beastly form further helped the situation. With the aid of Future Melody’s horn Twilight brought along, the other five were able to tackle her in their Alicorn forms.
Soon, a while later…
“Well, relentless, huh?” asked Myra.
“That sure was a good battle,” said Raisin Brandy.
“But I’ve got one more trick!” said Orion, as he lit up his horn and aimed at Myra.
Myra immediately retaliated. The others watched with awe and tension, especially Twilight and Melody, who feared that he might be taken down by Myra again. Is he going to do it?
Then, with a crack, and with a grunt, Orion lurched forward. Chaos managed to come and support him in time.
“Dude, you okay?”
Myra was shocked and flabbergasted when she saw fragments of magic scattering around her. “What?”
“Orion, perfect!” called Princess Celestia. “You’ve managed to disable her invincibility!”
“What!? I can’t believe it!” cried Myra, irked.
“Go, Melody! Finish her now!” instructed Twilight.
Concentrating hard, Melody eventually powered up to her ultimate form.
“This shall be your Waterloo now, Myra!” She said and gathered magic to form a huge energy ball. She hurtled it towards her.
“Not over yet!” She said and tried to repel the energy ball.
The two struggled for a long time. The others could see Melody grunting as she tried to fight against the resistance.
“I think she needs help!” said Rainbow Dash.
“It looks like she doesn’t have enough strength to resist her!” said Princess Celestia. “Let’s give her some of her energy!”
Immediately, Princesses Celestia and Luna gave part of their magic to Melody.
“Twilight! Give her yours, too!”
“Right!”
Twilight approached Melody.
“I’m going to give you part of my magic,” she told her.
“Will… this… be enough?” she pondered.
“I… hope so,” she said as she began to give Melody her magic.
“It looks like just the Princesses’ magic isn’t enough! I think we need to use the Elements of Harmony as well!” suggested Pinkie.
“Good thing, Pinkie Pie. Now get to action!” said Princess Celestia who was listening to what she said.
As the rest of Twilight’s friends contributed, Orion lifted his head up.
“I’m going to help her,” he said.
“Dude, can you still do it?” Chaos asked, concerned.
“I can… if I could. After all, she’s my dear sister…”
Chaos watched as Orion slowly went to Melody’s side and he started to give his magic.
As hard as Melody tried, Myra was still resistant to her attacking energy ball.
“Give up now, Princess! There’s no way you can defeat my ultimate form.”
“I… won’t!” She grunted. The others watched nervously, with some biting their lips and prayed.
“C’mon, c’mon…!” said Greenie. “You can’t lose!”
“DON’T GIVE UP!” wailed Platinum.
Then, suddenly, a bright light shone in front of Twilight, Melody and Orion. Everyone gasped. A figure resembling a Pegasus silhouetted within the brightness.
“Who’s that?” gasped Applejack.
“Congratulations, Me of the Past,” the figure spoke, revealing herself.
“Aren’t you…” said Twilight.
“… future me?” finished Melody.
“Future Melody!” cried Rarity.
“I can’t believe this…” said Fluttershy.
“You have demonstrated your true leadership in guiding your friends,” the spirit of Future Melody continued. “The spirit of friendship has clearly been passed on to you and your friends.” She turned to the rest of Melody’s friends, who responded with surprise.
“Chaos Control,” she smiled at him. “I wish you all the best in strengthening your romance with my past self…”
Chaos just looked at her, surprised and speechless.
“As for you, Mom,” she turned to Twilight. “Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, you all are successful in teaching your children about the knowledge of friendship. They will be the future assets of Equestria and the universe. As such, I hail them, the Inheritors of Friendship.”
“You…” said Applejack, touched.
“You are amazing, Future Melody,” said Princess Celestia. “For you to point out what would the future of them become.”
“Now, to begin the eternal peace for Equestria, I shall now give you the ultimate spirit in defeating her. Good luck, everypony…” At once, she began to fade.
Then, another miraculous thing happened. Rainbow began to envelop Twilight and her friends, and in a flash, they all gained more colorful appearances. Rainbow Power!
Princess Celestia was amazed.
“I… I feel like I’m healed totally!” cried Melody. Her powers have been completely restored.
“Give her all the energy you got!” ordered Celestia to the Mane Six. “This shall be our ultimate technique!”
“No way! Equestria is mine!” Myra continued to retaliate.
But it was no use. A supercharged Melody now enlarged her energy ball.
“I think it’s about time you visit us someday again, as a better self, Myra. Goodbye.” With all her might, she shouted and forced the ball onto the now disintegrating body of Myra.
“NNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!” With a huge scream, Myra disappeared within the exploding light, forever. But, within the chaos, Melody put too much pressure, and as a result, she lurched forward, her horn breaking at the same time.
As soon as the bright light was cleared with everypony returning to normal, the others were able to see Melody collapsing in time, with her horn on the floor.
“Melody!” exclaimed Twilight, feeling her all over while Orion picked up her horn. Chaos approached them.
“I guess she must have gave it her all, but she pushed too much,” said Chaos.
Then, tremors began to rock the site.
“What?” exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
“The hideout is starting to crumble from the impact,” said Princess Celestia. “We must escape, or we’ll be trapped!”
At once, everypony started to escape to the entrance. Twilight quickly carried Melody.
“Hang on, Melody. We’re getting out of here!”
