//------------------------------// // The Final Lesson...on the Moon. // Story: Asura's Wrath: The Final Lesson...with Luna. // by Tom2rules //------------------------------// It was a glorious, all things considered. The stars were shining; the night sky was beautifully illuminated by their everlasting light. The calm cool air rushed through the hills of the kingdom. And even the moon was in the most perfect position in the night’s sky. It was simply fantastic. Just as she had hoped. But it was to be expected, it was her job after all. And after being banished to the moon for a thousand years, it was a duty that Luna was eager to return to. Standing upon a balcony was Princess Luna herself, the sister of Princess Celestia and co-ruler of all of Equestria. This graceful alicorn, with her long gallant mane fluttering in the wind watched her beloved night in such joy. For so long she could see only darkness when she gazed from his prison upon the moon, the very symbol of her power. But after being freed from her imprisonment and the evil force that caused it in the first place, Luna gladly returned to her rightful place, right next to her sister. It was her duty to bring the night once her sister’s day had ended. But it was upon this very night that Luna felt something…was off. It was something that only a being such as herself and her sister could feel, but it was exclusively special to Luna. For this feeling…came from the Moon itself. “What…what is going on up there?” As the goddess of the Moon and the night, Luna couldn’t help but wonder what could be happening on her old prison. Not that she would openly admit it, Luna had about as much interest in returning to the moon as Celestia had in walking on the sun. Although…being stuck there for a thousand years does that too you. Still, the feeling she had…it wasn’t something she could ignore. So with a powerful burst of magic, Princess Luna vanished in a fantastic blue light. -The Moon’s surface- After arriving on the rock’s surface, Luna imminently began to search for the unyielding force she felt, which had grown immensely since she left her home. But it did not take long for the Lunar Goddess to find the source of this unbelievable force… and she was sure as hell shocked at what she saw. Standing in the center of a single crater on the moon’s surface were two figures, and they sure as where not ponies. On the right side was tall imposing figure standing on two legs. The creature’s upper body was covered in strange red marks and its arms (three pairs of them!) were entirely made of metal. And the creature’s face…Luna had never seen an expression of such rage and hate before, not even her Nightmare Moon form had ever been that angry. The creature standing opposite of this one was actually quite similar…only bigger. This one had white hair and a beard, along with only two arms. This one also had one of the largest swords Luna had ever seen attached to its back. Due to the limitations her kind had (hooves made it quite hard to hold anything in battle), the use of sharp weapons such as that were quite rare. Still out of all of this…what these two creatures were doing is what shocked Luna the most. They were fighting. Fists swinging back and forth with extreme force, the two creatures traded blows with such a massive force that the entire moon shook in fear. Whatever these creatures were, they were extremely powerful. “You’re beaten!” A massive fist suddenly slammed into multi-armed creature’s face, knocking it backwards. Luna expected the smaller of the figures to be knocked out cold by a punch such as that. But not only did the creature remain standing, but it easily launched back into the brawl with its own strike. But this seemed to only excite the larger of the two even more as the two continued their struggle. “Fall! Fall!” Another punch forcefully impacted the face of the smaller figure, but this repeated the same performance as before, knocking the creature back only a few inches before he returned the blow full force (with two fists!). But even this couldn’t keep the larger of the two down, as they soon resumed their epic brawl. “Scream for me!” This strike slammed into the chin of the smaller of the two with a sickening crack. But this time the creature didn’t even budge, his enraged eyes staring into his opponent’s with an untold fury. Backing off for only a moment, the enraged creature slammed three fists into the monster’s chin. The grueling match continued for a few more moments before something amazing happened. Almost in slow motion, the two imposing figures traded a single punch to each other. But the taller of the two soon found itself with a metal fist in its face before being sent flying with amazing force. Luna could only watch in horror (and excitement) as the larger of the two fly at amazing speed toward the edge of the crater. But to her shock, the figure only stayed down for a brief moment before standing back up. Then suddenly, an extraordinary power exploded from the large creature (at the same time a massive ring appeared behind the figure’s back). With a very sadistic grin, the figure began to speak again, “I have had carnal knowledge of all the fairest maidens in Heaven…” Grabbing the hilt of its massive blade, the figure continued, “…and have tasted the finest whine in Gaea!” “But none of it…none of it!...” “Excites my blood more than using my blade!” With that, the massive figure due its sword and tossed the sheath behind him, imbedding it the very stones that make up the moon’s surface. Looking at the sword, Luna realized it was much more terrifying then she ever imagined. It was an impossibly long sword (for pony standards), its edge sharp enough to slice through even the toughest of dragon scales. But that’s not made it so terrifying…it was the aura the blade released while being wielded. It was so blood thirsty, so violent; it was something no pony had ever experienced before in all of Equestria history. “Prepare to meet your end!” The figure swung his sword upward, “Asura!” Swinging the massive sword at this ‘Asura’, the massive blade unleashed a large arc of energy that carved its way through the moon’s surface. Asura was barely able to dodge the attack, but as soon as he did his enemy launch himself at the massive figure with the sword raised high. “Show me what you’re made of! Asura!” Luckily for Asura, he was able to get all six of his arms up in time to catch the blade. But his arms were unable to hold up against the force behind the blade and were forced to push the blade off the side. It was at that time the blade touched the moon and unleashed its fury. It cleaved a large portion of the moon in half, like a knife cutting a piece of cake. Luna was speechless at the chaos she was witnessing; she couldn’t believe that such destruction could even be possible. But as the lunar princess saw the two imposing figures about to clash again, she knew she had to interrupt it. Vanishing in another burst of magic, Luna appeared between the two imposing figures. “Enough!” Luna shouted in her royal canterlot voice hoping to force some fear into these creatures and stop this senseless violence. And while her voice was able to stop these creatures, they didn’t seem scared at all…or even surprised. If Luna was to guess, they just looked annoyed. “As the co-ruler of Equestria and commander of the night, I command the two of you to stop this senseless violence imminently!” Luna roared at the two, but the larger one simply gave her a glare. “Really? Do you need a pathetic little horse to fight your battle for you Asura? Did all that time in the ground make you soft?” The sword wielder asked his enemy, who just grunted before taking off into a dash. “Argus!” Asura roared as he neared Luna. Luna attempted to put a magic barrier between the massive monster and herself, but it was useless as Asura easily tore thru it. "Get Lost!" But as the princess thought her life may have come to an end, she felt a small tug on her tail and before she knew it she felt herself suddenly lift into the air. Looking back at the ground (which was much farther away then she remembered) and the two figures, Luna came up with a quick conclusion. That douche just grabbed her by her tail and threw her away like trash! Flexing her wings, Luna regained her balance in the air before looking back at the duo (now known as Argus and Asura). While in a brief absence, the two had imminently started up their battle once again. Despite having an advantage with his weapon, Argus didn’t seem to have any sort of edge when it came to Asura. Jumping, rolling, and even blocking with this multiple arms, the enraged demi-god continued to beat down on his former master. But Asura found this much more difficult than he ever imagined. If he thought Argus was powerful in hand to hand combat, then he was a true god of war when it came to his sword. Luna couldn’t stand to watch any of this senseless chaos. She may not know who these two warriors were, but why did they have to fight like this, what was to gain from beating the unholy tar out of each other? Why? So in an effort to stop this destruction, Luna used her magic to try and separate the two. Using the countless boulders that made up the surface of the moon, the lunar princess created countless of make-ship Mountains in an attempt to stop their battle. But it was all for naught. May it be Asura’s fists or Argus’s blade; the mountains were reduced to stones in a matter of seconds. With all of her powers over the night herself, Luna couldn’t do a damn thing to halt this battle of the gods. Using three of his arms, Asura slammed his fists into his former teacher’s thick skull, sending the behemoth of a man flying backwards. But it wasn’t nearly enough as Argus regained his stance seconds later. “Haha! This is what I live for!” Luna was appalled at that man’s words. How could someone live for such dangerous combat, what about the other things in life? Love? Happiness? Friends? Luna believed these were things a pony should live for, but combat? That's absurd. “This is why we exist!” Argus roared as he flared his power, swinging his sword as he did so. Leveling his sword with his student’s body, Argus grinned with a murderous gleam in his eyes. “But all good things must come to an end…” Luna briefly wondered what he could mean by that. “…you knew this was coming!” Then suddenly, the blade of Argus’s sword shot forward at unbelievable speeds. In a blink of an eye the sword was already upon Asura, preparing to impale the demi-god in the torso. But somehow, Asura was able to get all of his arms up in time to catch the blade (although four of them were impaled while doing so). But the force of the blade slowly pushed the enraged god backwards across the ground. “This is where real men belong! In the Fight!” Argus shouted as his pupil tried to push against his weapon, but Asura just sneered at the old man. “I don’t give a damn!” Luna tried to help Asura (he didn’t seem to enjoy this combat, the lesser of two evils perhaps) by creating a few barriers to try and slow the man down. But it wasn’t enough as the multi limbed man crashed thru her barriers like it was nothing. “Only the strong survive! I taught you that much!” Argus continued to gloat, forcing his sword to extend even farther. “That isn’t for you to decide!” Asura roared back. But the strain of the deadly sword proved too much for the demi-god’s metal limbs. As Asura soon neared the edge of the crater, two of his limbs suddenly gave up the fight and broke apart. And then yet another amazing thing happened this fateful night... His feet lifted off the ground and Asura was shot into space! With a massive grin on his face, Argus rushed after his pupil and jumped off the surface himself. Watching from her position in the air, Luna briefly gave a glance at the current condition of the moon. It looked about as bad as Celestia's room did after that unfortunate incident with the Moon shine...oh, that was a one bad hanger over she had after all that was over. But with the two demi-gods finally gone from her domain, Luna allowed herself to relax for a few seconds. But unfortunately that’s when it hit her…where were the two of them heading now? ….. “AH! They’re heading for Equestria!” Luna shouted in shock. If these two creatures could cause this much damage on the lifeless surface of the moon, what could they do to the kind and cheerful world that she had grown to love? It was a horrifying idea to say the least. Beating her wings as fast as she could, Luna took off towards the direction these two were heading. But as her eyes focused on their last known location…something odd happened. They were gone…just gone. No shouts of rage, no hysterical shouts of battle, and no painful sounds of something or someone getting punched. There was nothing, it was like they were never there. Lightly dropping back down to the surface of the moon, Luna looked at the chaotic state her moon was in. That just made the princess’s mood even worse. She was already nervous due to the sudden disappearance of those two warriors, but now she was just annoyed. It would take her forever to repair all the damage the moon had sustained because of those two. Letting out a tired sigh, the Princess began the monumental task of repairing all the damage…hopefully she would be able to finish by the time the morning came. “Why Luna, I never thought you would be the type to redecorate.” A sudden voice surprised the alicorn. Quickly turning her head, Luna was greeted with the sight of her dear sister, Princess Celestia. The beautiful alicorn glanced around, taking in the sights as her sister tried to come up with a reasonable explanation for what in Equestria's name had just happened. But after a rather lengthy explanation (which included a variety of hand gestures and sound effects), Celestia could only shake her head at her sister's tall tale. There was no way such an event could go on without her noticing, it just wasn't possible. Heck, it sounded more like one of Discord's old wise tales he used to tell before he went all "Lord of Chaos" on them. Celestia couldn't just tell her sister that she didn't believe her though, that would crush her sister (especially after all the work she put into making the Moon actually look like the event she spoke of had actually taken place). So to calm her sister down, Celestia gently gave her worried sister a calm look and told that while she believed her, they still had much work to do before the morning came. Luna could accept that, she had a feeling that her sister thought she was a bit crazy (Again), but still at least she would get some help in the task of repairing her moon. So without any other thoughts, the duo began to channel magic into their horns, preparing for the gigantic task that lay before them. But as the two rulers of the skies began their task, neither of them noticed a very large sheath still imbedded into the stone surface of the moon...
