//------------------------------// // Chapter 12 // Story: Resistance: Equestria // by Evowizard25 //------------------------------// Bullseye began to regain consciousness. His vision was clouded and his mind muddled. ‘What happened?’ He asked himself. He was still trying to piece together the events that had unfolded right before his blackout. He had been so angry. Everything seemed to be falling to pieces before his very eyes and when he talked about a Time Lord…He still didn’t know why he knew that word, but it filled him with rage none the less. Rage that surged through him, like the cooling fluids that ventilated his temperature, but that was stronger. He felt like he could do anything he wanted and he wanted them all to die. And right before he blacked out, he did it. He felt the energy surge through his horn and make his thoughts reality. ‘But why? How?’ He thought, as he raised himself up. As he looked around, he found himself staring into nothing but fog. ‘Odd. I thought I was in a building…THOSE HUMANS LEFT ME OUTSIDE!’ He made a mental note to kill several of them when he got back to his true form. Bullseye walked on, hoping to find his way back to the command post. He trotted on for what seemed like hours, until he saw something through the mist. He squinted his eyes, hoping to get a better look. When he could finally make out the shape, he stopped in his tracks. He growled and bared his teeth. From out of the fog stepped a human. One of the soldier variety and not one of the mongrels he had fought before. ‘I haven’t seen them in years. I kind of miss them. They always put up such a fight.’ For some reason, he wasn’t carrying any weapons. ‘Big mistake.’ “What are you doing here, human?” “I could ask the same of you, monster.” The human responded. He wanted to kill the biped right then and there, but he had to steady himself. ‘He probably knows those two builders.’ He wasn’t going to ruin his only chance of returning to his old body. He stomped a hoof to the ground. “I demand you to answer me.” “What’s the matter?” The human soldier asked. “Still pissed off because you lost your precious gun?” Bullseye took a step back. “How did you know…?” “I was there.” The human interrupted him. “No you weren’t.” “Yes, I was.” The soldier took several steps forward. “I was with you every step of the way. All the way back to the day you were created.” “That’s impossible.” “Is it?” The human quirked an eyebrow. “Weren’t you the least bit curious as to what human you were made of?” “No, why would I?” Bullseye scoffed. “I am the superior being.” The soldier scowled. “Of course you are.” His hands were balled up into fists. The human kept on walking towards him. With each step, Bullseye took a step backwards. He didn’t know why, but he was scared. For the first time, he was scared. ‘He’s just a human. You shouldn’t fear him. He should fear you.’ But he couldn’t will himself to stand up to the soldier before him. All the while, he noticed a black aura surrounding his aggressor. “For years I’ve watched you slaughtering innocent humans.” He spoke. “In all that time, I had no control of my own body, as you played reaper. No power to stop the needless rage and murderous instinct. But now…now I can have my revenge.” “Wh-what are you talking about?” Bullseye stuttered. A human carbine materialized right in front of the soldier. He reached out and plucked it out of the air. “You’re going to know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of this.” He pointed the gun at him and fired. The bullets pierced his body, making him scream out in pain. His legs gave out as he fell to the ground. The human kept firing for several minutes, as the air was filled with inhuman, pained screams. Finally, the human stopped and slowly walked his way over to Bullseye. Tears of pain fell down the unicorns cheeks. ‘Make it stop. Please, make it stop.’ The human knelt beside him. “That didn’t feel so good, did it?” He chuckled, when the grey unicorn whimpered. The soldier stood up. “That’s for humanity.” He kicked the Chimera pony’s side. “That’s for my country.” He kicked him again harder, tears falling down his own cheeks. They mixed with Bullseye’s own, as they became small pools of sorrow. “That’s for Berlin.” He raised the butt of his gun and slammed it hard into the pony, causing him to yowl. “That’s for using me all this time.” He kept on pounding into the Chimera, relentlessly. “And this is for my sister.” Again and again, he came down hard, trying with all his might to pound the Chimera pony into oblivion. ___________________________________________________________________ Mayor Mare laid by Bullseye’s side. Though, she rather ditested the stallion, she just couldn’t leave him in this state. ‘He’s still a pony after all…Still, it’s too bad we couldn’t get him to the hospital. Hopefully, the storm will clear up in the morning.’ Even from here, she could hear the gushing wind and pitter patter of the rain outside. “Here you go.” She heard somepony say. She turned her head to look at her secretary. She was holding a steaming cup of coffee. “Ah, thank you.” Mare smiled and took the cup in her hooves. “No problem.” Sarah Tailin smiled. She looked over to the unicorn, laying unconscious next to the mayor. “Has he woken up yet?” Mayor Mare shook her head. “I haven’t heard a peep out of him this whole time. I have to keep checking his pulse just to be sure.” She sighed. “And how’s that Pegasus doing?” Sarah frowned. “His wings were broken in several places. I doubt he’ll ever fly again.” “You don’t know that.” Mare responded. “The doctors could fix him.” She wished she could believe her own words. She’d seen the pegasus’s wings and knew that they’d never work again. Sarah nodded. “You’re right. I shouldn’t work myself up over it.” Just then, Bullseye started whimpering, which soon turned into full blown screams. He started thrashing about. Mare quickly grabbed hold of him. “Bullseye! Wake up.” He ignored her, and just kept on screaming in pain. “What’s happening to him?” Sarah said, fear evident on her face. “I don’t know, maybe the spell backlashed or something.” Mare said, as she tried to hold the grey unicorn steady. Screams could be heard, coming from down the halls. “Check on the others. They might be having nightmares too.” Sarah nodded and ran off. Mare looked down at Bullseye. He was squirming about, screeching. She kept on shaking him. “Wake up. Bullseye, you have to wake up.” She had to get him out of his slumber. She just knew it. After several minute of frantic, shaking, shouting, and screaming, Bullseye opened his eyes. She smiled at him, until she looked into his golden orbs. Tears were pouring out of them. They held the look of somepony in so much pain, a full eternities worth. All he could do was mouth the words ‘Make it stop’. She felt like crying herself when she made them out. She pulled him into a hug. “It’s okay,” She ran a hoof through his mane and down his back, reassuring him. “You’re safe. It’s all over.” She let a few tears fall, as she heard his constant whimpers. __________________________________________________________ Nurse Redheart awoke from her nap to the sound of something crashing. ‘Why did I have to agree to the night shift? Oh, right. Because I need this job.’ She grumbled inwardly, before she got up and started walking through the corridors. To her surprise, or rather not, she found Ravager looking out the window. Loose Screw was by his side, snuggling into him. They were kneeling down and seemed quite comfortable, if it weren’t for the stern look on the stallion’s face. “Is everything alright?” Redheart asked. “No.” Ravager responded, while not looking at her. “Everthing not right.” “What’s the matter?” Redheart was used to talking to ponies about their problems. She did it so often, that she considered becoming a psychiatrist a few times. ‘As if.’ “Humans in head try to talk to me.” He told her. “They tried to hurt me, but they do not. I hurt them.” He chuckled. “Little humans were crushed to pieces.” ‘Okay, mental note. He maybe suffering a mental illness.’ She thought. ‘Oh, I know that’s harsh, and it could be a dream, but ‘humans’ and crushing them? What kind of pony dreams stuff like that?’ “So you couldn’t go back to sleep?” The huge stallion shook his head. “No, little pony. Me no sleep.” “And that loud noise was?” She asked. She knew it wasn’t lightning. “Strange pony bark, so I break wall.” He said, as though it was a logical conclusion. She facehooved and groaned.‘Is he going to just keep breaking things.’ “She be quiet now.” Loose Screw went and licked his cheek. He chuckled. “She even like me do it.” Redheart chuckled. “I see that.” “Beside, human bomb throwers shoot at here.” Ravager said, glaring out the window. “I see their flashes.” A streak of light filled the sky. “Like that.” “That’s lightning.” Redheart tried to tell him. “It happens all the time during storms.” Ravager shook his head. “No, humans try to kill me in sleep. Now they try kill me here. They clever, but me too strong.” The nurse was starting to find his way of speaking annoying. “I assure you, that nopony is trying to kill you.” “Humans always want to kill me.” Ravager bowed his head. “And I want to kill them.” “And why do you want to kill them?” “Because it is fun.” Ravager smiled. “Hearing dead yells is so good.” Redheart cringed. To take pleasure in ending somepony’s life was just so…sick. “I’m sure it can’t be that good.” “It is good, little pony.” Ravager turned to look at her. “Maybe me take you out and we kill human together.” He smiled innocently at her. She forced a smile. “That…sounds rather…strange, but how about a nice, gentle walk?” Ravager snorted. “Fine. We walk.” Loose Screw barked in agreement. Redheart rolled her eyes. ‘I can’t believe I have to put up with those two.’ _______________________________________________________________ John made his way through the storm. His whole body ached, as the wind and rain battered his form. He was only walking on three legs, since he was holding his precious doll close to his body with a foreleg. ‘I have to make it. I have to.’ But he knew wouldn’t make another ten minutes in this weather. Fortunately, he spied a hut of some kind not far away. Soon, he was able to make it to the door. Using what energy he still possessed, he raised his hoof to knock on the door. He stood there for a moment, as nothing happened. ‘So, this is where it all ends.’ He thought, as his slipped into darkness. Before he did, the door opened up. In the doorway, stood a large red stallion. John didn’t have the energy to say anything. Instead, he fell forwards. He could feel the stallion pull him inside. “Zecora, get over here quick.” He heard, as well as the sound of somepony else’s hoovesteps, before he passed out. ___________________________________________________________ I own neither Resistance, or My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
