//------------------------------// // Prologue part 1 // Story: The Batpony Exile // by Firewire9941 //------------------------------// Prologue   Nightmare Moon was defeated, and the Sun finally rises across Equestria but the fight against the Night Guard still continues. The Royal guards are still trying to drive the Night Guard out of the castle but they have to fight brutally for every room. “Defend this position, this is our last defense before they can get to our princess’ room!” the bat pony sergeant ordered. “But sir we are outnumbered! Holding this position will be our doom!”  “We are the Night Guard! We defend this position until the last one dies!” “Incoming Royal guards from the main entrance!”   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Princess Celestia~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   “Your Highness” A Royal guard came bursting through the half destroyed throne room. He had several bruises on his body and a large gash on his left foreleg.   Looks like this guard had had quite a beating from the fighting. I hope that this battle will end without too much casualties.   “We have driven back the Night Guard to the mess hall, but they still won’t surrender!” The guard said, trying to keep from leaning on his left foreleg when he bowed to me. “Tell your commander that I want his guards to drive them into a dead end and keep as many as Night guards alive! There was already too many ponies fallen. As well to let a medic look over at that gash on your leg!” “Of course, your highness!” the guard said before running back to his commander. I tried to keep my regal voice but he clearly hear the sadness in my voice because of the recent events that had played out this day. Why are they still resisting, after everything I tried to end this peacefully. I had no other choice to banish my sister. They didn’t that understand she was turning evil.   Looking up, I see how worse the damage is in my throne room. Torn banners slowly waving in the wind, the roof being full of holes, and the  broken windows. These windows were so you could always could see the moon and sun rise as well sink but now it’s gone. In its place, is nothing more than rubble and broken glass.   This is going to take years before the throne room is completely repaired and there’s still the rest of the castle and the houses in the vicinity that have taken damage from fallen debris.   A second Royal guard came running into the throne room bowing quickly for the princess, sweat dripping down his body like he had just run a marathon. “Yes?” I asked, slightly worried why he had come to the throne room this fast.   I hope Luna’s guard didn’t escape. I don’t want to involve my citizens in this battle.   “Your Highness, I came from the marketplace and large group of bat ponies are protesting! According to them, you banished Princess Luna just to get full control over Equestria!” the guard screamed, breathing heavy to get some air.   I was in pure shock.   First my sister’s guard and now her subjects! I don’t have enough guards to end both conflicts peacefully!   After some thinking I came with a temporary solution. “They have the right to protest, but take ten guards, who are patrolling around the castle, and try to keep them from doing any harm to anypony.” “What if they will act violent?” the guard ask, his voice slightly worried about the lack of ponies he was handed.   “When you suspect they are up to something, your first priority is to keep my subjects safe from harms way and then try to restrain them. If things get out of hand I will send reinforcements for your aid.” “Yes, your highness. But, with all due respect, I think ten guards isn’t enough.” “I know it’s not much, but we are still dealing with my sister’s guards so we need as many guards as possible in the castle alone.” I wanted to give him more guards to help, but most of her guards were in the hospital or busy to handle the situation in the mess hall.     “Yes, your highness.” The guard then turned around to gather the troops he had been given.   The guard was almost through the door before I called him back. “Guardsmen, come back. I change my decision.”   “Yes your highness? ”The guard said, wondering why he had been called back.   “Take my guards in the throne room with you as the reinforcements.”   The guard stood pondering on my decision. “Are you sure, your highness? What if a Night guard entered this room?” he asked.   I am strong enough to handle a few guards. Even after I defeated my own sister, do they really see me as a weak princess. So much that they think that I can’t handle a single guard?   “I still have two guards stationed at my door, and if one managed to get in here I’m still able to overpower him. But thank you for your concern for my safety and if you excuse me, I would like to be left alone for a while.” “Yes, your highness.” The guard said before leaving with the other guards from the throne room and towards the main marketplace in Canterlot.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(Night Walker) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   “Look at that crowd. Almost every bat pony is at the marketplace!” I said looking out over the marketplace from the roof of a store called Quils and Sofa’s. The marketplace was a huge place where most ponies did their shopping for almost anything. In the middle of the market place was a Statue of Princess Celestia. The market stalls were placed in a circle where most ponies bought their food and basic supplies- well, actually the stores around the marketplace sold luxury things like clothes and jewelry rather than useful things such as food. “Well, that makes our plan easier!” The pony next to me said. Dark Armor said, a Night guard and a childhood friend of mine. Dark Armor is a stallion bat pony who has a dark blue coat and a bright orange mane with a black stripe in the middle of his mane, his eyes are green, which is unusual for a bat pony. He was lucky that he didn’t had guard duty today or else he be at the fight between Princess Luna and Princess Celestia. He would be stuck in the castle like the rest of Night guard or maybe worse dead. “How does that make easier?” I asked Wouldn’t it be hard to get away if so much ponies are blocking our way. “Well now we can blend into the crowd, so getting to the statue will be easy and when the statue falls all over, they will start causing chaos so our exit will be covered!” “Okay, but how are we going to tip that statue of Princess Celestia down, there are only two of us. We are never going to be strong enough!” I said hoping that he has thought of something. “I have gathered some of my friends in the Night guard who are still in the city to help us.” He said, a small smile on his face. Dark Armor was always the planner of our group. He always had a plan ready, even at unexpected situations. “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” I said, still wondering why we are waiting. “We just need to wait for Shadow Dancer.” Shadow Dancer is a dark grey bat pony mare, with golden eyes and a bright red mane. She also is the prankster of us three, always trying to scare the crap out of us. “Did someone called my name?” A feminine voice came from behind us. “Sweet Luna stop sneaking up on me, Shadow Dancer!” I yelled Someday I will get a heart attack from that mare. “I can’t help it, you’re face is just hilarious when you’re scared!” Shadow Dancer said smiling innocently. “There are fifteen Royal guards guarding the marketplace, most of them are guarding the entrances. The statue is unguarded and around fifty bat ponies are protesting, you guys can easily pull this off!” Reported Shadow Dancer. “Fifteen guards is more than we expected, but it’s still possible if we are careful. Night Walker, you got the rope with you?” Dark Armor asked. “I have two ropes that are three meters long in my saddle bag.” “Alright that should be long enough, Shadow Dancer, I need you to mix into the crowd and and as soon as the statue falls you make sure that the bat ponies start to riot against the guard.”   “Making chaos... Hmm, yeah I can do that.” Shadow Dancer said excitedly. “Okay, the others are already in the crowd waiting for us, so let’s go!” “Let’s show the princess of the sun, how much we appreciate her!” I said. After meeting with the other four bat ponies, we started walking towards the statue. “Okay, we need to act quickly once we reach the statute because the guards are going to stop us.” Dark Armor said. “I want a rope tied to the neck of the statue and the other rope tied to the torso of the statue.” “Once the statue off celestia falls, the marketplace will erupt into chaos. When that happens we need to split up and get to our hideout.” I informed the others. “What if one of us gets caught?” one of the bat ponies asked. “If that happens then you will be on your own.” I said to the young stallion who said that.
