Long ago, a law was made. A law that would forever change harmony between ponies. This law stated,
Every pony race has equality. Each has a certain part to our society. Each carry their own special abilities to help the world around us. It has come to concern, that although these differences make each pony unique, we cannot possibly have a different race of ponies be with others. The last thing we need is to have a filly fall from the sky because it was born in Cloudsdale, without wings because one of it's parents was not a pegusus. Now, this doesn't mean that pegusus,earth ponies,and unicorns can't live together in harmony. No. It just means that different pony races cannot love one another in a romantic way. It is for the good of the ponies. We do not want to cause any chaos throughout the ponies, just keep in mind these new law. Thank you.
This law was to be followed, and ponies became respectful with it as the years went on. But there will always be those who go against this. Not every pony will be okay with this, of course there were those who still were in romantic relationships, even when they were different pony race. They would always receive glares and sometimes much worse. Some would never stay together after a while. Times have changed since then, but it all started with the greatest love story. One who would define the law. One who would change what other ponies thought. Our story begins with a colt of blue eyes and light brown fur. His name was Time Turner.
It was a beautiful day in Ponyville. Birds were flying around and songs could be heard throughout. Well musicals to be in fact. It will always amaze me how they are able to come up with songs so easily. He quietly thought to himself. Time Turner had just exited his house and stopped for a minute to enjoy the scenery. He loved it here in Ponyville, everything just seemed so amazing and simple, well except for those special days of giant plants and everything going chaotic. He had no big plans today but didn't want to stay cooped up inside.
What should I do today? he thought as he trotted away to get something for breakfast at Sugar Cube Corner.Since it was so close to his house he arrived after five minutes, problem was, he didn't know what to buy. At least there were still three ponies in line, so there was still time. He went over to see what there was at the counter.
So many choices! How could I possibly choose? Maybe a hot chocolate, now that does sound good. He thought not noticing the pony ahead of him, already turning after ordering a muffin. Suddenly there was a collision. Three muffins went up into the air, as the mare in front of him crashed right into him. This definitely woke him up from his thoughts as he suddenly reached down to help her up.
" Oh gosh are you okay?" He asked as he helped the gray mare up.
After she took his hoof, he quickly took a glance at her. She had a blond mane and light gray fur. As he looked into her eyes, he noticed that there was something unique about them. While one pupil was looking at him, the other was looking downwards.
"Thank you mister." she said ever so quietly.
" No problem, miss.......?
“You can just call me Derpy Hooves.” she said looking up, smiling gently at the colt in front of her.
Little did he know, that every second longer that she stood there with him, her face glowed up more and more. She was not typically the one to develop feeling towards others this quickly, as she had been judged by many by her eyes. That never stopped her from making a few friends though. Yet this one colt, who had a dark brown mane and light brown fur, had something special about him.
"Miss Hooves?"
"Oh sorry,just lost in my thoughts." she said quickly
Then she remembered the muffins that had fallen down. A blueberry, a chocolate, and lemon surprise.
"Oh no my muffins!"
" I'll buy them for you, it was my fault they fell down." He said heading for the counter.
"Hello there, sir what can I get you?" said a pink earth pony, who was currently working at the counter.
"Hi I would like, what that grey Pegasus ordered and two hot chocolates,please."
" Coming right up!"
He got the orders and faced the grey mare again. He smiled and said,
"Here you go, miss Hooves."
Her eyes sparkled once more as she was handed the muffins and a hot chocolate. I can't lose this potential friend! He so kind and very friendly she thought to herself.
"Um wait mister! Before you go would you like to join me at the table over there at the window?"
Everything went quiet. Not a sound to be heard. All except for the whispering of An earth pony and Pegasus sitting together? or He wouldn't say yes, would he?. He never was one to like the law of different pony races not being able to be together. Yet this situation right here, he didn't know what to do. I don't want to be rude...... A few seconds had passed or possibly minutes, before he noticed the glares going towards Derpy. Although he had just met her, he didn't like the glares she was receiving. Looking back at her, any pony could tell she was quite embarrassed. Looking down, not wanting to see rejection. Yet before he could say anything else, she ran for the door and to the outside of Sugar Cube Corner. To the other ponies surprise, he ran right after her.
