//------------------------------// // Chapter 7: Christmas Day Part One // Story: College Roomates // by Penguin_Pop34 //------------------------------// Christmas, a time of year where kids open presents, and parents laughing with joy. Sonata can make it a big deal, while Aria and Adagio sit on the sidelines. No, really. That's what they're doing. Sonata begged them to go to the ice rink for a fundraiser, and Adagio regretfully agreed. An hour passed, and Sonata began doing spins and glides in the ice, Aria and Adagio sat on the bleachers, shivering and muttering angrily. "Come on! Don't be such a grouch!" Sonata said, as she held up ice skates. "NO, Sonata. The cold is not for me!" Adagio said, pulling her hood over her head. "Nah, rather finish my Super Mario Galaxy game," Aria said, pulling out her game console. "Oh come on! We can have hot chocolate later!" Sonata yelled. "UGH!" When they made it back to the dorm, Adagio was pulling the keys out of her pocket, Aria was beating the final level of her game, and Sonata pulled her hood over her head, upset. "YES!!! Beat that! YES!!!" Aria cheered, when she beat the final level of Super Mario Galaxy. "Girls! Is Christmas not important to you! Just video games and being the grouchy people you are!" Sonata said, as she sat on her bed. "Well, it's freezing, innocent kids are playing in that freezing snow, and... It's freezing!" Adagio said. "Heh, you can only think of freezing! What? Don't want your poofy hair to freeze?" Aria smirked. Adagio glared at her. "Would you shut up!?" Sonata tip-toed to the bathroom. She took a warm shower and got dressed in her nightgown. After she grabbed a hot chocolate from the Canterlot University Café, Sonata laid on her bed, pulling her blankets over her body. You know what? I will show them that Christmas means love and cheer. And I know just how to do that! Sonata thought as she drifted off into a peaceful sleep. "Canterlot students! Since it's Christmas Eve, and it's winter break, all classes are canceled for the week! Have a wonderful Christmas!" the speaker blared, as students ate their breakfasts of warm pancakes, with melting butter and syrup, along with hot chocolate. Sonata gobbled her breakfast down, downed her orange juice, grabbed her purse, and rushed out of the café doors. "What's her problem?" Aria asked. "I don't know. Probably buying chocolate again. Remember when Sonata ate a whole box of Hersheys and she had a major sugar rush during class?" Adagio giggled. "Oh yeah!" Aria laughed. After Sonata left from working at Taco Bell (Yes, she has a job now.) She grabbed her purse and left the warm building. As Sonata walked to the mall, she heard the snow crunching under her boots, and children building snowmen and laughing. She even heard a girl asking Sonata to join them. But she just shook her head and smiled. "No thanks. But I appreciate it," Sonata said as she pat the little girl's head. When Sonata entered the mall, people were rushing to buy last minute presents. She searched from store to store, but not a single thing could be perfect for her two best roommates. especially when most stores are sold out of items. "What am I going to do!?" Sonata whimpered as she took a bite of ice cream from the frozen yogurt shop. Sonata glanced at a jewelry store, with all kinds of trinkets. But one catches her eye. Yes! That's what I'm going to get them! she thought as she ran with her ice cream.
