Chapter 7 - The End Of The World

Another day, another sunrise.

Rainbow Dash followed her regular route across the farmyard, waving a goodbye at Applejack's form in the distance. She barely made it two steps before a purple blur smashed into her. Rainbow hit the ground hard, groaning in pain and rubbing her head. She could hear the purple thing groaning as well just across from her. Rainbow rubbed her drowsy eyes and squinted at the purple thing.

"Aw jeez...Twilight!" Rainbow cried out, still wincing. "What in the hay was that all about? I may not be one to say this normally, but you need to slow down, girl!"

Twilight got up shakily. She shook her head, rubbing dust and soil out of her mane with her forehoof. She stood on the path momentarily dazed before remembering what she'd come to say. Twilight rushed up to Rainbow, almost bashing into her again and causing Rainbow to flinch backwards. "Rainbow! We have a problem!" She exclaimed, grabbing Rainbow with her forehooves and shaking her wildly "A big problem! BIG!!"

"Ooookay..." Rainbow calmly pushed the freaking-out Twilight away "You feeling yourself, Twi? Because you're talking crazy." Rainbow eyed her friend curiously, noting the frazzled mane and the eyes darting from side to side. "Well, uh, I'll just be going now..."

"Didn't you hear me, Rainbow?!" Twilight continued. "We might be looking at the end of the world here!"

Rainbow stopped dead in her tracks and turned back around. "Say...what now?"

Twilight nodded her head furiously. "If my studies are correct we could be looking at a serious, SERIOUS problem!"

"Okay, okay. Just take deep breaths Twilight." At Rainbow's command, Twilight calmed a little slowly breathing in and out. After a minute of silence, Rainbow continued. "Now Twilight, what's the problem?"

Twilight crept up to Rainbow's side, looking from left to right, as if about to tell her a secret. "Well..." She spoke in a hushed tone. Coming up right to Rainbow's fuzzy blue ear. "There's. No. More. Cider"

Rainbow collapsed to the ground. "No...more?" She began to weep, pummelling the ground in defeat. "Why!" She cried out, looking up at Twilight. Twilight simply smiled, stroking Rainbow's mane.

"It's okay, Rainbow." To Rainbow's surprise, cider began spilling out of Twilight's mouth. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head and her body melted away. "It'll be fine" More and more poured out as cider flooded the path. Rainbow screamed as the bubbling apple cider swept her away. The sheer force pushed her miles across Equestria. The pegasus struggled to stay above the aggressive waves, coughing and spluttering. Soon, Rainbow felt herself growing weaker and disappeared below the waves. She struggled to breath, cider pouring into her lungs-

"GAAAAHHH" Rainbow woke with a start in Applejack's bed. Beads of sweat covered her coat and her breathes were shaky.

"Sugarcube, you alright?" A soothing voice said beside her. Rainbow turned to see Applejack lying next to her, her face etched with concern. She softened a little and she cracked a small smile. "Bad dream?"

Rainbow laughed nervously, lying back against the bed. An orange hoof began to massage her and Rainbow instantly relaxed, melting at Applejack's touch. "Yeah, bad dream. Not nearly as awesome as usual."

"Well, we better get going, Rainbow." Applejack jumped up from the bed. "Twilight wanted to meet with us, remember?"

Rainbow's eyes shot open. "Wait, huh?"

"You've already forgotten?" Applejack couldn't help but laugh. "Twilight's been a little jumpy all week. Apparently, she needs our help or something." She turned to see Rainbow panicking on the bed "Sugarcube?"

"NOT THE CIDER!"
