Family Of Chaos

Prologue

It's now Discord and Fluttershy's 42 year wedding anniversary, and all of their kids and their grandchildren are somehow managing to show up. The quiet suburbian house where Discord and Fluttershy had raised their kids was now chaotic as hell, with one foal after another screaming their heads off and absolutely refusing to be quiet.

Discord joined in on the chaos, playing basketball with one of his grandchildren Glucose, the son of his eldest son Entropy and his wife Butterball.

"Swoosh." Discord hooted, after scoring the game winning goal, making it 15-0.

"That's not fair grandpa." Glucose smiled, "You can't use your magic to cheat." Discord laughed.

"Who said I can't." Discord smiled, twirling the basketball on his claw.

"I did, just now." Glucose said, rolling his eyes. "We all know I would've beat you otherwise." Discord cackled.

"Oh, you would've beat me? That's so typical coming from a pink unicorn colt." Glucose stared haphazardly at the sky before rolling his eyes back down to the ground.

"Well, mom won't let me dye my coat red so it's her fault. I was born this way." Glucose went off, after Discord managed to make him feel inferior for the eighth time that day.

"Relax." Discord said, ruffling through his naive grandson's name. "I know you would've beaten me, your cutie mark is a basketball hoop. I felt like I needed to give myself an edge." Discord turned an ear as Fluttershy called everypony inside for dinner. Homunculus and Faye sprinted inside with their water guns.

Discord sighed. "Well I must go, your magesty eagerly awaits me in the kitchen." Glucose smiled.

"I'll be in with the rest of 'em." Glucose stuck his tongue out in concentration before shooting one straight in the basket. The rest of the family gathered around the dining hall into their seats, with a few of the children squeaking their chairs against the floor for good measure. Glucose ran in after them.

"A toast to a wonderful husband and a wonderful family." Fluttershy called, with the family all clinking their glasses in unison.

"And 42 years of marriage." Discord smiled, guzzling down his drink of choice, chocolate milk. Discord's eyes darted around the table, and he saw his daughter Halcyon on her cell phone and her son Walnut playing with his brussels sprouts. He then looked to see Homunculus and Faye slapping eachother.

Discord saw Ataxia chatting away with her husband, oblivious to Homunculus and Faye's antics. Discord thought his eldest son Entropy was doing well, having played with his grandson earlier. Glucose's older sister Kelpie adjusted her glasses and daintily picked at her food while Glucose's younger sister Daiquiri took no such care in gobbling up hers.

Discord was proud of what he overcame to become a father to four children, and was glad that each of his children now had a family of their own. Somniferous had not stopped by much to see him since she flew away many years ago, and he never got to spend any time with her children Misty and Barley.

Somniferous was as chaotic as it gets growing up, and her two teenagers were giving her all kinds of trouble as they began to make the same mistakes she did. Her husband Acquiescence was a doormat, and Misty and Barley did whatever they could to manipulate him. Misty would make poor choices and get in trouble, and soon after Barley would follow.

Discord wished he could sit down with the two and tell them what to do, or steer them in the right direction. Despite often being one to pull the strings himself, he resented when Misty and Barley were pulling the strings on her daughter, and wanted to talk to Somniferous to see how she was dealing with it all.

After everypony left the table, Discord went up to Somniferous to talk. She turned away in disgust. She wasn't about to let him get mad at her about running away and leaving town.

"Look at me." Discord growled. He needed to talk to her, and he wasn't going to let the incident with her leaving get in the way of that.

"What dad?" She complained, giving shades of what she was like as a teenager. "If this about me leaving..." She left to do what she wanted, and she was tired of Discord's tyrannical nature. Then she got married, had kids and didn't tell him about it. That's an awful lot to digest.

"It's not." Discord shook his head. "I wanna know how your kids are doing."

"Misty got into a fight at school and Barley's grounded again for sneaking out of the house." She answered. "I have to get them out of Fillydelphia, it's a bad town."

"Why don't you come stay with me and mom?" Discord proposed. "We've got plenty of room."

"Really?" Somniferous sobbed. "Even after that fight?"

"Of course dear." Discord smiled and hugged her. "You and your kids are welcome to stay as long as you like."

"And my husband?" She said, raising an eyebrow.

"Fine." Discord rolled his eyes. "And your husband. You know, I never really liked him. He's like a common household pet."

"But it's so cute when he humps my leg." Somniferous joked.

Discord shook his head. "That's more than I needed to hear."

"Are you sure you can handle me and my kids?" She asked nervously.

"Sweetie." Discord said, as he kissed her on the forehead. "I can handle it."
