     "Where did you get that suit?" Rarity said to Jet in astonishment. Jet had made a tight purple suit with golden strips with long sleeves. Worn over it was a black and gold cloak with crimson spandex inside and an enormous black cape encircling his head.
"I made it. Why?" He asked.
"It looks fabulous!" Rarity practically yelled fabulous. 
"Your soufflé is exquisite." 
"Isn't that a food?"
"Maybe."
Jet continued throught the town with Rarity by his side. She would keep staring at his cloths with astonishment. While in the town, Jet had gathered a few supplies for what he was doing. Many of Ponyville's residence were staring.
"Jet, if I may ask, can I study your style? It would mean so much to me. Please?" Rarity made a face like no other.
"Not now."
"So is that a yes?"
"Yah. Maybe tomorrow." Jet said sarcastically even thought he was fine with it.
"Ok." Rarity trotted off. "See you tomorrow."
Jet returned to his house to see the door opened. There was noise coming from inside, which sounded like talking.
"Hey-roo?" Jet called.
"In here." Twilight's voice said.
Jet walked in as Twilight was with Luna waiting in anticipation for him to return. There jaws dropped at his clothes.
"Those look cool." Twilight said. She then realized that she used the word 'cool.'
"They do look really good on you." Luna said. "Anyway, we are here to continue our research on your magic." Jet only smiled
"Alrighty then." He pulled out the iron capped wood wand and aimed it at the bookshelf. The vis expelled from the wand and as soon as all the vis went into the bookshelf, it transformed into one single book. The Thaumonicon. Twilight's and Luna's face expressed surprise.
"I've never seen that book before. Can I look inside it?" Twilight said steadfastly.
"We will open it together." Jet replied.
"When do we open it?" Luna asked.
"After I make the arcane workbench and the scribbling table." Jet pointed his wand at a square table and it transformed, leaving magical dust and a green cloth on it. A pattern was encoded into the cloth which made three by three boxes. He then placed the quills and ink on a separate rectangular table which looked like it did nothing.
"Ok, let's open it." Jet announced as they all sat down together in a couch.
"The book was heavy, around 30 pounds. The first page wasn't at all what Twilight or Luna had expected. There were tabs across the left side of the right page. The left page was blankly brownish-red. The first tab was pressed down to signify that there were on that page. The background over the book was purple with distant stars. There was also bubbles that appeared to be lighted and darkened.
"Is that the book you use to learn about spells. If that's the case then I'll take it home to read." Luna moved the book closer to her side only to be stopped by Twilight.
"No way. It's my bookshelf that made it and the nodes that the wand took to make the book. I'll take it. It'll probably take about a week for me to read it." Twilight lifted the book with magic onto her side of the table. Luna was about to interject but was signaled to stop with Jets hand.
"Ok, where to start? Jet help please?" Twilight glanced at him. He tapped a tab on the side of the book which was called artifice. He then tapped a hexagon with blue glass in the middle and gold around it. A page opened up and words wrote themselves on the left page. A picture of the object appeared and a 3 by 3 square did as well. Inside those boxes were objects that looked like shards.
"The thaumometer..." Twilight and Luna read on. Two minutes later they looked at the picture and wondered what it meant.
"It's the crafting recipe to make it. If you place those in the same order and with the right objects, it creates the thaumometer." Jet explained.
"So, can we make it now." Twilight questioned.
"We need these things called elemental shards, or something. They are found underground and by looting evil enemies. We should gather as much as we can because these are really important."
"Where do we begin?" Luna asked.
And so they all went on a three day trip around the world in caves and mineshafts looking for shards. Twilight brought Spike along to dig the "gems" up. He tried to eat an aqua shard which only made him barf up water. He noticed the shards were heavy at around 5 pounds each. Which adds up to 8 per trip back to Jets house.
Twilight looks for Ignis and Aqua shards which appear to be around water and lava. She had this on incident where Spike dropped an Aqua shard down a ravine, and into a pool of hot lava. It converted the lava into a really hot black stone. Twilight took note of this transformation and told herself to keep the shards apart.
Luna was in charge of looking for Earth and Aer shards. Earth shards appear under the dirt inside the top layer of stone. Aer shards appear inside mountains and more accurately, at high altitudes. Aer shards are lighter than air, meaning they float up if left without any assistance. Luna learned this the hard was as she used her magic to float next to her. She would let her magic go when she used another spell that removes dirt which lead to losing 20 Aer shards.
Jet had the most hardest job. He was assigned by himself, to get the Ordo and Perditio shards. Ordo would appear deep underground as well as Entropy shards. To deep infact and he would have to obtain it another way. He decided to summon a monster and destroy it to obtain these shards. He first went into the Everfree Forest and placed a few traps. It worked somewhat well. He managed to kill a few giant monsters. He 'farmed' these shards for a bit but they were heavy and had to take breaks for while until returning.
