A Dazzling Tale

Pondering And Practicing

The girls and I walked into our penthouse.

"What happened?" I said, throwing myself onto the couch.

"I have no idea," Aria said, "it was like we start talking to this girl and it just made me feel so relaxed and easy."

"Same here," Sonata agreed.

"She's just so easy to talk to," I said, "however, I know a weakness she has that we can exploit."

"So that's why you were so interested in being nice to her. So you could gain her trust and then exploit her weakness without her knowing," Aria said.

Exactly," I said.

"That seems kinda meanie, don't you think?" Sonata said.

"We're villains, Sonata," I said.

"Oh. Right," Sonata said, "but she's so cute, I just wanna squeeze her little cheeks off."

"Sonata, maybe Adagio might let her join us," Aria said, clearly on the same page as me.

"That's what I was planning, but let's think this over some more during the next couple of days," I said.

The girls nodded in agreement.

"In the meantime, this weekend is Battle of The Bands," I said, "let's discuss our plan."

"Alright, so what song are we performing this weekend?" Aria asked.

"I wrote one called 'Under Our Spell'. There'll be a killer drum bass drop in there," I said, "of course, the background music will be pre-recorded and we'll sing to it."

"Sounds awesome. D'you wanna rehearse it real quick?" Aria asked.

"Yes. Let's get to it!" I said.

I already composed the song myself on my computer and saved to several different external storage devices. I kept all the storage devices hidden so no one could find them and utilize our song or use it against us.

The girls and I rehearsed I quick bit of the song.

"Oh whoa oh-"

"Oh whoa oh-"

"You didn't know that'cha fell-"

"Oh whoa oh-"

"Oh whoa oh-"

"Now that you're under our spell-"

"Blindsided by the beat, clappin' your hands, stompin' your feet-"

"You didn't know that'cha fell-"

The girls vocalized a bit.

"Now you've fallen under our spell-"

The girls vocalized again.

"We've got the music; makes you move it-"

"Got the song that makes you lose it-"

"We say 'jump', you say 'how high?'-"

"Put your hands up to the sky-"

"We've got the music; makes you move it-"

"Got the song that makes you lose it-"

"We say 'jump', you say 'how high?'-"

"Put your hands up to the sky!-"

"Oh whoa oh-"

"Oh whoa oh-"

"You didn't know that'cha fell-"

"Oh whoa oh-"

"Oh whoa oh-"

"Now that under our spell-"

Next was my solo part.

"Listen to the sound of my voice-"

The girls vocalized.

"And soon you'll find you don't have choice-"

The girls vocalized again.

"Captured in the web of my song-"

"Soon you'll all be singing along-"

I motioned to the girls to stop.

"Fantastic job! We're going to nail it for sure," I said.

"Since when do we not nail it?" Sonata said.

"I hate to say it, but Sonata's right," Aria said.

I decided we'd rehearse the song a several more times over, this time with the dance moves to go with it.

"So," I drawled after we finally finished.

I looked up at the clock on the wall. It was 8:30 already.

"What do you say we go to bed early?" I suggested.

No one objected.

The girls and I headed off to bed. I pulled my pajamas out of my closet and put them on. They were a pretty shade of lavender with a gem and treble clef (my cutie mark, basically) sewn to the corners of the bottom of the legs on the baggy pants. I was ready to think over the events of today. So much had happened over the course of today.

There was something about Sunset Shimmer that was bugging me that I couldn't quite shake. She didn't seem to have anyone she was close friends with; she had mentioned being friends with some girls who called themselves the 'Equestria Girls' that have a band called the 'Rainbooms' but they didn't invite her to join the band. The fact that she wasn't really a part of a group makes things even easier for me.

My plan was just becoming easier and easier to carry out. I was counting down the days until Battle of the Bands. There was only three days before the competition. The introductory party or whatever it is, was two days from now, though.

I stared out my window; lost in thought. It was beginning to feel like my life in Equestria was just a distant dream. I sighed. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get back to Equestria.

What am I thinking? Of course I'm going to get back to Equestria! I'm not letting anyone stop me! Anyone who stands in my way will face the wrath of a real Siren; the cutesy pony side won't be seen and instead the menacing Siren side will be brought out.

In Equestria, I have the ability to transform into an all-powerful Siren at will, as do the girls. We can be ponies or Sirens at any specified time. As Sirens, the girls and I can turn even the calmest sea into a raging one and we can fight using our voices. As ponies, our voices can be used to put anyone under a spell and lure anyone into a false sense of security.

I'm not ashamed in the very least that I'm cunning like this. It's a part of who I am; it always has been and always will be. Anyways, in Equestria, I usually stay in my pony form unless I needed to be in my Siren form for some specific reason.

So, I'd really like to know how much Sunset Shimmer knows about Equestrian Sirens. I wonder if she's from Equestria. If she is, was she a pony or something else? Was she banished here or did she come here? I thought.

I yawned.

I should get to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be another long day.
