Discord was sitting on his haunches and covering his ears with his hooves. His eyes were screwed shut and he was gritting his teeth. Rarity was still screaming. She finally gasped for air and Discord took an opportunity to shut her up. ’‘Would you please stop screaming and just listen for a minute?’’ Discord relaxed and his hooves left his ears and made contact with the ground. He shook his head in an attempt to rid it of the ringing. ’’I suppose. If you meant to hurt me you would already ha-’’ She was disrupted by a purple dragon erupting from a bush. The small dragon puffed out his chest and it looked like he was flexing his very nonexistant muscles. ’‘I’ll save you Rarity!’’ Spike said as he lept towards Discord screaming. The scream was high-pitched and was very similair to that of a filly half his age. He started hammering his fists into Discord’s chest. Discord just looked down confused at the baby dragon ’punching’ him. He looked back at Rarity who just shrugged. Spike had started panting from the effort it took to barrage the intruder with vicious blows. Discord had enough of the afternoon massage and used his right hoof to push away the dragon to arms length. Spike opened his eyes, confused. He was punching, but he wasn’t landing a single one on the strange stallion. He noticed that the stallion was holding him away with a hoof on his head and a gentle push. He looked thoroughly unamused. Spike’s face flushed a little as he realized that Rarity wasn’t in danger. He stopped punching and gulped. ’‘Heh... Heh... eh... ‘Sup?’’ Spike grinned sheepishly. ’‘Spike!’’ Rarity shouted his name, immediately turning his attention to the white unicorn while muttering something. ’‘That was horribly uncouth of you! Apologize for your actions at once!’’ She punctuated her sentence by lifting her hoof and gently thumping it back to the ground. Spike just groaned and turned towards Discord, who had a smug grin. Spike cleared his throat. ’‘Well?’’ ’‘I’m sorry for... y’know, running out here and punching you like I did... I guess...’’ Spike rubbed the back of his head and chuckled nervously. ’‘It’s nothing really, and you didn’t punch that hard.’’ Discord nonchalantly lifted his left hoof, inspected it for a while before he rubbed it against his chest. ’‘But I must ask; what were you doing in that bush?’’ Discord asked Spike, arching his eyebrow at him. The young dragon seemed to tense up and blush slightly before brushing it off. ’‘Um... I heard... I heard screaming. Yeah, screaming! So I ran here and saw you, and expected the worst. I was totally not in that bush to watch Rari-’’ He covered his mouth and adopted a panicked expression, much to Discord’s amusement and Rarity’s slight confusion. ’‘Well then, run off if you would. I have a beautiful mare to apologize to.’’ Discord knew that the dragon had a crush on Rarity, as it was glaringly obvious. Spike however seemed to dislike the stallion more by every passing moment. Spike turned around and stomped off to Ponyville. Discord couldn’t contain his laughter and fell onto his back while clutching his side. His back legs were kicking skyward. Rarity cleared her throat, unamused. ’’Oh. Right.’’ Discord sat back up. ’’I presume I should be the first one to apologize as I started screaming and wouldn’t listen to what you were saying. I’m sorry for acting like I did.’’ Rarity shuffled her hooves around, looking slightly looking up at Discord. Discord unvoluntarily stretched his back a little. ’‘And I guess I should apologize for just turning up like that and startling you...’’ Discord faked feeling bad as what he had originally planned for the white unicorn was much worse than scaring her and making her scream. She was going to scream when his plan was fulfilled anyways. ’’Oh! How terribly rude of me not to ask for your name! My name is Rarity, I live in Ponville.’’ She blew a stray hair from her mane out of her face, stood up and walked closer toward Discord. ’‘The name’s Phasmatis.’’ Rarity seemed to be very interested in his name. ’’I came to Ponyville about four days ago.’’ Discord stretched his back. Rarity was now standing just in front of him, eyeing his cloak cautiously. ’’I say, who made this exquisite cloak?’’ Rarity lifted her hoof and rubbed his chest, to feel the fabric of the cloak. ’’Uh... I... I made it myself...’’ He realized that Rarity was coming on to him. Rarity’s eyes widened at the revelation. Discord took a step back out of Rarity’s reach. Rarity pouted a little. ’’My, my. A gentlecolt AND a colt that can handle fabrics..’’ Her ears splayed backwards as her eyes closed halfway and she leaned a little towards him. Poor Discord was lost. He didn’t know what to do and he was working very hard to not release the control of his wings. Easier said than done. Words were hard to find at the moment. ’‘Um... Miss Rarity, I’d appreciate it if you would stop... All I got from my last relationship was a shattered heart...’’ He wasn’t lying. He distanced himself from feelings like those after it collapsed on his own shoulders. ’’It changed me, and I released something that should’ve never seen the light of day...’’ Discord sighed and walked past Rarity, his head slightly hanging. ’‘I- I’m sorry, I didn’t mean t-’’ She was disrupted by a crimson flash as Discord teleported himself away from her. Rarity sighed and returned to lying on the blanket she originally placed on the shore. ----- Five high-ranking unicorn guards were standing around a table in a dark, quiet room. On the table was a map of Equestria. The map was shimmering slightly from the magic used to pin-point the location of the chaotic outbreak. All of the guards were highly focused on the task. One slight disturbance and they’d have to start the process again right from the beginning. All their work would be fruitless should they fail. The map started growing brighter, it now required more magic than before. All of the guards groaned from the strain and after a bright flash that lighted the entire room, the map was glowing slightly. One of the guards reached for the map and controlled it. The result made his eyes widen of the realization of where the outbreaks had been. Just outside of Ponyville, where the Elements of Harmony were living. He took off running rolling the map up as he charged down the halls of the castle. The remaining guards all exchanged a glance. A reaction like that couldn’t mean anything good. As he thundered around a corner, he had to shout for a few ponies to get out of his way. This new information was more important to get to the Princesses than helping Prince Blueblood change clothes. This was a matter of national security, not a complaint about always waking up blinded by the sun. He was running down the last hall leading to the massive throne room where Princess Celestia and Princess Luna were holding court for the day. The guards by the door understood that something big was happening so they opened the door so the running guard wouldn’t have to slow down. Once he was inside the throne room, he charged past the high-class ponies judging his appearance and pace to be uncouth and dangerous. He ignored them like he always did and stopped by the small staircase leading up to the thrones were two very confused and troubled Princesses were sitting. They understood what had happened. Celestia stood up and adressed the crowd. ’’I am terribly sorry my little ponies, but today’s court must be cut short for other important matters at hoof.’’ The small crowd mumbled a little before they complied and walked out of the room. As the last of them walked out, Princess Luna used her magic to lock the door and soundproof the room so nopony could eavesdrop. Celestia turned to her frazzled guard. ’’I believe you have found out where he is, correct?’’ Celestia held her breath, awaiting the answer she hoped for. Luna was leaning slightly towards them both. ’‘Yes Princess, we have.’’ Both of the Princesses sighed in relief. ’‘However, his location is, to say the least, very unnerving.’’ The Princesses shared a look and stared at the guard. ’‘What do you mean?’’ Luna walked towards the guard and looked straight into his golden eyes with a look of genuine concern. ’‘Take a look.’’ He levitated the still glowing map to Luna, who snatched it from him with her own magic. She looked at it closely. Her eyes widened at the result and she lost all concentration, making the map drop to the softly carpeted floor. Celestia gulped as she saw the expression on her younger sister. ’‘Where... Where is he?’’ Celestia walked up to her sister and placed her left wing on her back for comfort. ’‘Ponyville...’’ Her voice was hollow of emotions and her eyes distant. ---- ’‘That damn harlot!’’ Discord had flown into the Everfree Forest. He bucked a tree with all he could muster, making the trunk of the tree crack. ’‘Who the hell does she think she is!?’’ He shouted as he focused his horn on a large stone, shot a red and yellow beam against it, making the stone explode on impact. ’‘I’ll show her... I’ll show them all...’’ He was panting heavily from the effort he put into destroying a small part of the forest. He laid down and started shivering. Rarity had reminded him of the love he had and then lost. It was a long time since he had given it a moments thought and Rarity just went right ahead and brought it up... again. ’‘They will pay...’’ He yawned and rested his head on his arms, falling asleep almost instantly.
