Ponyville, 11:25 AM. It was a normal day, which isn't saying much. Perhaps an unexciting day would be a more appropriate term. Rainbow Dash was moving some clouds for some small amounts of rain later in the day, but nothing out of the ordinary was going on. Well, aside from Pinkie Pie bouncing down the road, which only struck Rainbow as odd because she was doing it backwards and saying bye to ponies she passed rather than hi. PInkie Pie being Pinkie Pie, she supposed. Rarity was out shopping, Applejack was selling her apples, a black and white streak flashed down the road, everything just plain bor-
"Wait, what?" Rainbow Dash took off after it, but couldn't catch up to it because she made sure no pony got hurt by that thing's speed. "Hey, slow down!" Rainbow yelled at the blur. "Don't you know that some pony could get hurt?"
Getting no response, she increased speed and began to catch up with the streak. It appeared to be running, but no pony she knows could run that fast other than her, and she like to think that she would know any pony who could. The blur didn't seem to notice any pony it nearly ran into, but it also didn't go out of it's way to hit any pony, either. If Zecora could move at Rainbow's speed, then it could be her, but she can't.
"Idea! HEY STUPID ZEBRA! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" Rainbow hoped that by making it mad it would respond. She was right... but not in a way she was happy with. It sent a bolt of electricity directly at her, not harming her but forcing her to land and stop after getting hit. Notably, that made her mad. "Alright, that's it. No more Mrs. Nice Rainbow Dash!"
She flies up to get a better view of where the supposed zebra went, and flies down after it when it comes to a stop a good distance from town.
"Where could she be? She should be - no, she has to be here!" Now clearly a zebra, and possessing a voice unmistakably male, he seemed to be berating itself. Noticing Rainbow coming closer, he got in a fighting stance. "Oh? Come back to fight? You may want to back down as I have the clear advantage."
"Wait, fight you? How do you have any advantage?" Rainbow hoped she didn't smash her hope of not getting into a fight.
"My advantages: I have way more speed than ever before and can't wait to keep using it, electric beats flying, and I am extremely desperate to find my partner so I have nothing to lose in a place where no one knows me. Do you still question my advantage?" He retorted immediately. "Satisfied, or are you going to keep me from my search?"
Rainbow did a double take. "Electric beats flying? What does that even mean? Also, if you were looking for some pony, why didn't you ask some pony before rampaging?"
"Electric beats flying means exactly what it sounds like: electric-type moves being good on flying-type pokemon. Sorry, did you say you would help if asked?" The zebra looked astonished.
"Okay, too many words strung together in a way I don't understand. I'm taking you to Twilight. She lives in the big tree over in that direction, got it?" Rainbow pointed a hoof in a direction. "I'll see you there in a bit."

"What are you? I mean, you're a zebra, but you are unlike any zebra, or any pony I know or have heard of, and I have heard of a lot of of ponies. How do you run so fast but maintain that much control over your velocity to turn and stop instantly? How do you have control over lightning and are able to channel it into bolts in whatever direction you like? Why don't you have a cutie mark?" A purple unicorn looked the zebra up and down, teleporting to either side, using her magic to take notes on everything and generally making the zebra wish for personal space. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, by the way. What's your name?"
"Mrs. Sparkle, have you HEARD of personal space?" The zebra glared at her, and she backed off with a sheepish grin. Rainbow Dash collapsed in silent laughter. "To answer your questions, I'm a Blitzle, I have always been able to control my speed but I have never had as much speed as I have here. How I can randomly have a huge speed boost just by being in a new area is far beyond me. All Blitzle, all electric types, and many other Pokemon can use electric type attacks, so for me it really is pretty standard. I have no clue what a cutie mark is, so I can't tell you why I don't have one. And as for my name? It's Blitzle. Pleased to meet you, Twilight."
"Wait wait wait, your name is Blitzle, and you are a Blitzle? I wouldn't want to be called Pegasus, I would prefer my name, Rainbow Dash!" Rainbow looked pleased with herself.
"Hey Mrs. Dash, may I ask you a question?" Blitzle looked at her with a puzzled face.
"Yeah?"
"Exactly what did you mean when you called me a stupid zebra?"
"I... erm, what I mean is... well... just tell Twilight why you're here."
Smirking, Blitzle turned to the unicorn. "I'm looking for my partner. She should be here, but I can't find her anywhere. Can you help?"
Twilight thought for a minute, frowned, and then her horn started to glow. A bunch of books floated over to her and began circling her, one coming out of the circle and to her face at a time. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, and no! I don't have a book with a locator spell. I'm sorry Blitzle, but I don't think I can help you. I could ask the others, but I can't make any promises."
"The others?" Blitzle looked on edge and sparked up. "What do you mean by 'the others'?"
"Woah woah woah calm down! She just means our friends!" Rainbow yelled at him. "Geez, don't you have friends?"
"No," Blitzle stated immediatly. "I have my partner, and the Guild. Any questions?"
Twilight looked stunned. "How can you not have any friends? Who is your partner? What does she look like? Who is this guild? How did you get here, as you seem to know you are from somewhere else?"
"Very easily: don't talk to people. My partner is Ponyta, a cream horse with red fire for a mane and tail, a little taller than me. The Wigglytuff Guild, lead by the afformentioned Guild-Master Wigglytuff. And as for how I got here, it's kind of a long story. Perhaps I should start with what I am. Just, promise me you'll explain what you guys are."
Twilight nodded. "Done."
