The SUN never SETS at East High...

Part I

Dear Princess Twilight,
I cannot wait to tell you about my time at East High School. But, the story begins about a week before that, before I ever even heard about the exchange program...

During Christmas break, my friends and went to a ski resort. On New Year's Eve, there was a party for the teens, so we went. "So, what kind of New Year's Resolutions did y'all make?" Applejack asked us.
"My resolution is to try to talk to more people," Fluttershy responded.
Rainbow Dash laughed, "I want to make it to the basketball championship next year. My team would have gotten there if it wasn't for the stupid captain of the East High team!"
"Hmm... East High basketball team captain," Pinkie Pie thought out loud "What's was his name again?"
"I don't remember," responded Rainbow "I think his shirt said 'Bolton'." We then watched as two people on the stage finished singing a karaoke song.
As everyone cheered, the manager of the resort came on stage, "Alright, who's gonna rock the house next?" Nobody volunteered. Two spotlight went around the room and landed on two teens. One was a boy with a dirty blond bowl haircut (a Bieber styled one, not a nerdy one). The other one was a girl with long, curly, dark hair. When they were pushed on stage, I knew they were from this world and not mine because of their tan colored skin.
The song started playing, but it was clear that these two did not want to sing. Nether less, the boy started singing, "Living in my own world. Didn't understand that anything can happen when you take a chance."
He looked so ashamed as the girl started singing, "I never believed in what I couldn't see. I never opened my heart to all the possibilities."
They started to sing together, "I know that something has changed. Never felt this way. And right here tonight this could be the start of something new. It feels so right to be here with you, ooh. And now looking in your eyes I feel in my heart the start of something new."
The two singers smiled. The boy threw off his jacket and sang, "Now who'd of ever thought that we'd both be here tonight."
The girl sang next, "Oh yeah, the world looks so much brighter with you by my side."
They both sang together again, I know that something has changed Never felt this way. I know it for real. This could be the start of something new. It feels so right to be here with you. And now looking in your eyes I feel in my heart the start of something new."
The boy sang ever so passionately, "I never knew that it could happen 'til it happened to me. Ohhhh, yeah."
The girl sang back with equal passion, "I didn't know it before but now it's easy to see..."
They sang together once more, "That it's the start of something new. It feels so right to be here with you, oh. And now looking in your eyes, I feel in my heart the start of something new." After their song, I couldn't help but give a standing ovation.
"I don't believe it!" Rarity said "They are actually really good!" My friends went back to talking, but I wanted to see those singers.
"Where are you going?" Fluttershy asked me when she noticed I was leaving.
"I want to see those two singers who just went. Just to tell them what a good job they did," I responded. They were both going outside into the cold, but I followed them anyway, despite having left my jacket in my room. I tapped the girls shoulder, "Hi!" They both turned around so I could continue, "I just wanted to tell you are both very good singers!" They both looked at me, from my bright orange skin to my dark red/dark yellow hair.
"Are you from the other world?" the boy asked me. I nodded and he introduced himself, "I'm Troy!"
"My name is Gabriella!" the girl added.
"I'm Sunset Shimmer," I said "Are you guys professional singers?"
"I'm not a singer. I play basketball," Troy explained, "The only one who has ever heard me sing is my shower head and I didn't even think I could sing."
"Just in the church choir," Gabriella continued, "One time I was assigned a solo and I nearly fainted."
I laughed, "Well, both of you are fantastic and you should sing more often!"
"Thank you," Gabriella thanked "I actually had a lot of fun singing."
I looked at my watch. It said 11:58. "I better go back to my friends! It was an honor meeting you."
Troy smiled, "You too, Sunset Shimmer."
"Goodbye!" Gabriella called as I ran inside, freezing. After that, I tried my best to shrug them off because, in all honesty, they were just two random people I would meet only once in my life, right? That's what I thought. But I was wrong. Dead wrong.
