“I don´t know where I am”, she murmured.
She had a strange feeling with her hands, which didn´t feel like hands. She hadn´t opened her eyes for five minutes; she hardly remembers what happened before her blackout. She tried to reach for something but she couldn´t, there was nothing around her that she could grasp. She tried to open her eyes. Her eyesight was blurry, and then she looked at herself when she recovered.
“I´m back to Equestria!” she screamed. She looked at her hooves, mane, and tail.
She couldn´t believe it, she was back! She jumped with joy; that her spell had worked. Sunset shimmer had been stuck in the human world for many years, when Twilight had returned to Equestria, suddenly the school wasn´t the same. Everyone now bullied her. She had always ran to the library to look at some old history magic for teleporting. Nobody wanted her around, so she missed lunches to research. She covered herself with a dark cloak.
“I´m here for some business”, she said.
She was in Canterlot, she had recently entered the city which looked a little bit different, everypony seemed scared, but not because of her presence, but because of something else, thought she didn´t know what it was. She opened a very dusty book. In the cover it said, “Legends that were kept Legends in Canterlot”. She had learnt about the Seasonal Pegasi; that was her only knowledge in those legends. She read more, sipped her coffee, until she found something quite interesting.
She read, “When Luna had become Nightmare Moon, Celestia battled her. It was not only a battle between sisters, they had used dark magic. So much dark magic was used that all of the remaining dark magic was stored in an egg, it is said that the sisters´ hate was so much that the creature inside would cause chaos and the battle would be brought up again. They only had been rumors and that is what it is thought to be, because if the sisters had used only dark magic, what could come from it? Dark magic only makes more dark?”.
She also found out that the egg was securely guarded in the castle. Sunset thought it would obviously make sense, so she put back her book, and headed towards the castle. She knew she couldn´t enter directly because somepony would recognize her, so before that she looked for a wig and a little cute outfit to cover her cutie mark. She made a braid to her mane to make herself look like a normal teen citizen. After that, she went for the entrance, nopony asked her questions. She looked around the tour area, but no egg to be found. She kept on looking while the guards were driving the tourists to look at some art and sculptures that were there.
“Twilight,” Celestia called, “come here, I need to tell you something.” The white alicorn had an unhappy look. Then another purple alicorn came running.
“I´m here, what is.. it?” she panted.
Celestia showed her a dark yellow egg, she later told her about its origins. The purple alicorn, Twilight Sparkle, paid close attention to the explanation, she had noticed something weird about it, it was not that it was a magical egg, it was that she could hear something.
“And I need you to take care of it and not let anypony to open it. Your responsibility to this thing will start tomorrow.” Celestia said.
Twilight left along with Celestia, but her view was focused in the strangeness of the egg.
Sunset still looked everywhere, but there were no results. Then, she saw Twilight and Celestia coming from a hallway; she then inferred that they had done something over there. Sunset looked for a way to escaped but one of the guards seemed to suspect and stopped her.
“Where are you goin´ , little miss?” the white unicorn guard asked. Sunset ignored him but he kept on blocking the way.
“That´s none of your business!” she told him. Everypony turned and looked at the two.
“I´m sorry, but I´ve got to go to the bathroom.” She said. The guard looked a little bit embarrassed.
“It´s over that way to the right, pardon me.” The guard said. Later Sunset started for that way.
When she noticed that the tourists and guards would no longer be a problem, she headed to the hallway were the two princesses came from. She remembered the reason she had to come back to Equestria to steal a legend. Of all the ponies and princesses, TWLIGHT had to be the one EVERYPONY loved and admired, nopony hated her. Everypony seemed to think she was perfect, even the people in the human world thought that she should was the perfect girl in the world. But Sunset knew that some of the background characters hated her too, but no one hated Twilight more than Sunset. She had to make Celestia think that Twilight was not the face of perfection, so she planned to steal something, worry Celestia, make Twilight look for the lost egg, and later show Celestia how had her student failed her. They were a lot of rooms, she also inferred that the darkest and old-looking one was the room where they kept the egg. She was right, but a guard standing beside the egg that was under the protection of glass. Sunset dropped a vase nearby. The guard darted to the noise. Sunset hided with an invisibility spell, and then she entered the room and locked the door.
“My precious little baby, you´re the answer to all of my future happiness,” Sunset said. She imagined how harsh would her princesses take the news that the dark egg was stolen.
She knew she had to escape somehow, she looked up and saw the vent. From her bag she took out a rope, she was ready for everything. Ponies knocked on the door. She broke the glass and grabbed the small dark yellow egg, she put her book in another side of her bag and placed the egg inside the empty bag. She threw her rope to the vent and tied it steady. She climbed and when they finally opened the door, the only thing they saw was the broken glass. The guards searched but there was not a clue of how the thief looked like or how had it escaped.
Sunset escaped successfully, she was in the garden, her mane looked a little bit messy but she still looked like a normal citizen. She went to the exit and walked around town. News haven´t been spread, so it gave her time to think. She was too confident that she bought some cake and fruit. She had some leftover bits to spend. She hadn´t taken a bite since her last supper in her home, so she took a slice of cake and ate it. She had to look somewhere to sleep, she looked and saw a train. When she came to the train station, she noticed that the mane five ponies were leaving it, along with a little dragon, she hided behind a newspaper she picked up, and waited for them to leave. After that, she took a ticket to Ponyville and left. She thought about the worried faces they had, except the pink one.
"Probably Twilight sent the news to them..." she murmured. She looked at the window, secured her bag next to her and slept.
After a few hours, she woke up and left the train. She had arrived, looked around for anypony that could recognize her, the way was clear so she asked for directions to a nearby hotel. The hotel was nice, she got a room and walked to it. Only few days would last her stay, stored her food in the fridge and took out the egg. She closed the curtains and lit the room with lamps. Sunset tried to open the egg with a spell but it seemed to be glued to the eggshell, used every kind of spell to open it but they failed. She used a knife but it didn´t work, used a rock; nope, a hammer but it was the same.
"How am I supposed tor ruin her life if I can´t open this!?" she screamed, then she covered her mouth. She put the egg on her bed and sat beside it.
She looked unhappy and sad. She started to make some memory when she was a filly. Her mother once got sicked, she was so sick, she passed away. She was a little filly when that happened. Her mother used to sing to her and tell her stories.
Later, Sunset sang, "Oh Mother, oh Mother, you used to love me very much. We always were in touch. You smiled to me, and cooked deliciously... You said you were never going to leave... but why...? Did I something wrong? Oh, Mo-ther... Won´t you tarvel along? Oh, Mo-ther... I miss you, and I love you...Mother..." She closed her eyes and cried.
She saw light, a yellow light, the creature was hatching. She fell off her bed in surprise. When it finally broke free-
"No, this can´t be it!" she said.
A yellow creature came from the egg, it was furry- "This is...-"
It was a small, yellow mouse with pink cheeks, it didn´t look like a destroyer of worlds, or world, it could not even destroy Equestria.
"But I expected more than this! Not a tiny rat!" Sunset wailed.
The creature opened its eyes. It was totally cute, it opened up its arms and hugged Sunset.
"Mommy!" it said. Sunset blushed. Then tried to push it away but it kept on coming back.
"I guess this is the start of a wonderful adventure..wuu..hoo", said Sunset with a tone of sarcasm.
"Pichu!" that´s what the creature said.
In Canterlot´s royal castle.
"Are ya sure the thief is not an earth pony?" asked an orange pony.
"Of course not! Only a unicorn could been able to escape that fast! Besides, how could the thief have escaped?
"It could also have flown to an exit or on a vent like in movies. It could also be a pegasus, you know..." a light blue pegasus said proudly.
The mane six were together looking for evidence or clues to find out who was the thief who stole the dark egg. Celestia and Luna came in, the white princess´s mouth fell. The dark pony let out a little laugh, as if laughing from a joke she remembered. Twilight saw the two princesses, the guards, and her friends. Then she fell to the ground and let out her wings. Something was enveloping her, dark magic had surrounded Twilight and it drove her to madness. The mane five tried to talk to her but she didn´t let them. Her friends noticed that she was no longer Twilight Sparkle. Luna ordered the guards to attack but she blew attacks to them with her horn. Nopony could stop her, Twilight broke the windows and quickly took flight, she headed towards the mountain, she wanted to be alone. Everyone feared, the tourists wondered over the noise and the people pondered about their princess flying away to a mountain cave.
"What can we do?" asked Luna. Celestia called for nurses to help the guards, the mane five followed the two princesses.
"From now on, Twilight will not be the same until we solve this." said Celestia.
"A new time of challenges and fear will come now" said Luna.
The ponies heard the news, they described princess Twilight Sparkle as an evil and uncontrollable pony that would destroy anything on its path and to be careful when outside. The lively city of Canterlot was now felt as if it was a small town with barely any ponies outside.
"I´m going to find out who did this... I´ll destroy him...and probably... make some changes, TO MY NEW WORLD!!" Twilight laughed evilly.
