//------------------------------// // Chapter 1: Twilight's arrival // Story: Twilight's visit to a strange, and somewhat familiar, Earth. // by TheBlazingPony //------------------------------// It was a normal day in Ponyville. The sun was shining, the sky was blue with not a cloud in sight, and the market was bustling with early morning shoppers Twilight was in the Library staring at a letter Celestia had recently sent her. "I don't understand Spike." The purple unicorn said to her number one assistant. Why does she want me to go to this school and learn to fit in as a human. It's not like I did that in the mirror world." "C'mon Twilight." Spike said to her. "You've got to have faith in Celestia's judgement. I mean, it can't be that bad. Right?" "That's just it Spike." Twilight told the dragon. "I have no idea what to expect going to Earth." "Just have faith Twilight." Spike said with a yawn as he ascended the stairs to Twilight's room. Twilight sighed. 'Spike's right. I just need to have faith in Celestia.' She said to herself. --------------------------- It was early afternoon as the train rolled into Canterlot station. Twilight stepped onto the platform, her saddle bags stuffed with ink, paper, a quill and a selection of magic books. She sighed to herself as she trotted down the street to the castle. She arrived at the gates, two guards blocking the entrance. One of them regonised Twilight and motioned for her to enter. She approached the main entrance and opened the doors with her magic. Waiting for her was Princess Celestia, looking as regal as ever. Twilight bowed instinctively. "Arise my faithful student. There is no need for these formal greetings." Celestia exclaimed to her. "Sorry." Twilight said, rising with a sheepish grin on her muzzle. "I'm sure you got my letter then?" She asked Twilight. "Yes I did." "Then we must proceed with haste." She said to Twilight, her horn glowing. Twilight was surrounded by a golden aura for a few seconds, after which it disappeared. "What was that?" Twilight asked. "That was spell which will allow you to change from your pony form to a human at will." Celestia replied. "So I will still be able to be a pony and have magic in both forms?" Twilight asked. "Yes my student. Now you must leave for this world if you have any hope of arriving before school starts." Celestia replied, her horn glowing "So I will..." "There is no time for questions." Celestia interrupted, a portal appearing in front of them. "You must enter this world. Good luck my faithful student." Twilight stepped through the portal and instantly blacked out. ------------------------ She opened her eyes and looked around and saw a school in front of her. 'Well this must be the school Celestia was on about.' Twilight thought to herself. She stood up and looked down at herself. She noticed she had become a human like she was in the mirror world, but not with her skin colour from the mirror world. 'So this is what humans look like.' She thought to herself. She stood up and walked towards the entrance to the school. She pushed open the door and stepped inside. The front entrance was very clean and well kept. A sofa with some magazines on a coffee table stood over to the left, while to her right was desk with a woman behind it. In front of her was a banner above a set of double doors that read 'Welcome to the Cambridge School for Gifted Youngsters.' 'Well this place looks nice.' Twilight thought to herself. "Excuse me." The woman behind the desk said. "Can I help you?" "I'm Twilight Sparkle and I should be starting at this school today." Twilight replied. "Ah yes. Celestia said I should be expecting you. I'm Clara Oswald. I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Cambridge school for gifted youngsters." She said. "Thank you." Twilight said to her as she pushed open the double doors and stepped into her first day at the new school. Little did she know that she had visited this school once before and had made many friends. She had just forgotten about then over time. -------------------------------- Twilight walked down the hall towards her first class of the day. She opened the door to the Maths classroom and stepped inside. The teacher, a middle aged man in a dark grey suit with a close cropped beard and mustache, turned towards her and motioned for her to come in. She walked forward and approached him. "So you must be the new student Twilight Sparkle." He asked her. "Yes. Yes I am." She replied. He turned, addressing the rest of the class. "Everyone, this is Twilight Sparkle. Let's make her feel welcome and ensure that she has a wonderful time here." He said to the rest of the class. Twilight found a space next to a teenage boy wearing custom, black Beats headphones; a black t-shirt with a shield with a golden bull and the word Lamborghini on it and the word Asterion in a blood red angular font, with what looked like blood dripping down it, below it. He also wore a black hoodie with a pair of lights, some angular shapes and a red rectangle on it. "Hey there." He said to Twilight." The name's Overdrive. I'm an autonomous robot organism from the planet Cybertron. I know I may not look like a giant robot, but ,trust me, my true form is. So, what's your true form?" "I am an alicorn pony princess from the land of Equestria." She replied to his question. "I've heard of much weirder forms, but this is a first for me." He said, a sheepish grin on his face "Wow." She said. "So everyone here isn't truly human?" "Eeyup." "Cool." She said, opening up her book as the teacher wrote a complicated quadratic equation on the board.
