It is daytime in Ponyville, a lovely day to be outside. Everypony is happy, enjoying a carefree day outdoors, except for two fillies outside after school. The two had Duel Disks on their front left hooves, Duel Monster cards in their right, standing up straight. These two had a long rivalry, and one decided to settle the score.
"Go Applebloom!" one filly said in the crowd.
"Show 'em what you've got Diamond Tiara," said another. The crowd was cheering, whistling, and possibly chanting their names.
"My turn!" said Applebloom.
Turn 8: Applebloom - 1300 Life Points | Diamond Tiara - 2100 Life Points
Applebloom had two cards Face Down and No monsters. Soon she drew her next card and smiled. "Ah activate Dark Hole!" she said, revealing her spell card. But Diamond Tiara had other plans.
"Reverse Card! Magic Jammer! It negates your spell!" The crowd gasped as that card flipped open.
Applebloom rolled her eyes. "That won't stop me! Reverse Card Open! Seven Tools of the Bandit!" Magic Jammer was destroyed along with Diamond Tiara's monsters. However it cost Applebloom 1000 Life Points.
"Dang it!" she said as the crowd laughed at her. Applebloom then got out a Monster.
"Ah summon Sunlight Unicorn in Attack Mode!" She summoned the card to the center of her field.
"It won't be enough Applebloom!" Silver Spoon taunted.
"She's right, with 1800 Attack Points, Diamond Tiara would win next turn!" Scootaloo realized.
Applebloom just smiled. "And now, ah activate Horn of the Unicorn! This increases my Sunlight Unicorn's Attack and Defense by 700!" She saw the Attack Points go up from 1800 to 2500.
"What? Now that card is strong enough to beat me," Diamond Tiara said scared. Applebloom waved her right hoof and Sunlight Unicorn attacked Diamond Tiara. Silver Spoon watched in horror as Tiara's Life Points drained from 2100 to 0. The crowd clapped their hooves and cheered loudly for Applebloom's victory.
Then, somepony came up to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. "That was some battle. I like your style," said the colt. "Mind if I take one of you on?"
"Take me on, sir!" said Scootaloo. She showed her Duel Monsters Deck. The colt smiled.
"You use a Cyber Dragon Deck huh? That's cool! I use a Dragon/Machine Deck. I have Warriors in it too..."
Scootaloo looked at it. She smiled, but said, "You'll probably need a big tune-up. Maybe ask Twilight Sparkle after this duel."
"Sound like a plan. My name's Arrox by the way." He ran to the red corner and activated his Duel Disk. "Get ready Scootaloo." Scootaloo nodded and turned her Duel Disk on too. The crowd cheered again.
"Get 'em, Scootaloo!" Applebloom said.
"Show her what PAIN is!" Diamond Tiara said at Arrox.
"LET'S DUEL!" Scootaloo and Arrox shouted at the same time.
Turn 1: Arrox - 4000 Life Points | Scootaloo - 4000 Life Points
"Draw!" Arrox said as he drew a card. "From my hand I summon Baby Dragon!" He played the card in Attack Position.
"1200 Points!?" Scootaloo said as Arrox placed two cards Facedown. "Your move."
Scootaloo drew one card weakly. "I summon Cyber Phoenix!" It too also had 1200 Attack Points. "Next I activate Mystical Space Typhoon!" She then destroyed Arrox's Facedown Junk Barrage. "I end my turn."
Arrox drew his next card. "I tribute summon and set one card facedown." A monster card was set in Facedown Defense Mode. "That's all."
Scootaloo wondered what he could be planning as she drew her next card. "I tribute summon Cyber Dragon!" Scootaloo played Cyber Dragon in Attack Mode. "Now, attack!" The facedown turned out to be a Satellite Cannon. Even though Satellite Cannon's 0 Defense Points was lower than Cyber Dragon's 2100 Attack, it couldn't be destroyed. "WHAT!?"
"You forgot, huh? This card can't be destroyed by a Level 7 or lower monster."
"Dang..."
"I draw, and summon Raging Flame Sprite! Next I activate the Quickplay Spell, Super Polymerization!" Everypony in the crowd gasped as he discarded one card to activate the effect. "I fuse Satellite Cannon with my Raging Flame Sprite and fusion summon Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird in Attack Mode!" The monster appeared from the heavens with 2800 Attack Points. "Now, attack!" Cyber Dragon then got destroyed as Scootaloo saw her Life Points go down to 3300. "I place one card facedown. Your turn."
Scootaloo nodded. "I special summon another Cyber Dragon. Then I play a Proto-Cyber Dragon!" The two cards appeared. "Next I play Super Polymerization! I fuse my two monsters and fusion summon Cyber Twin Dragon!" It had 2800 Attack too. If I attack I can bring Cyber Dragon back into my deck and gain a big advantage. I can't risk my XYZ materials, Scootaloo thought. "Attack now!"
Arrox grinned. "BATTLE BREAK!" He activated his Facedown Trap Card. "Got a monster to reveal?" Scootaloo was shocked not knowing what to do. She shook her head and risked losing Life Points. Cyber Twin Dragon was destroyed.
"Don't give up Scootaloo!" Applebloom cheered.
"I activate Cyber Repair Plant to bring a Cyber Dragon back into my deck. Turn end."
"I draw one card and attack you directly!" Blaze Fenix charged at her draining her Life Points down to 500. "Your move."
"I special summon Solar Wind Jammer! I remove my other Cyber Dragon from play for now. Then I play Different Dimension Reincarnation to bring it back! Now I create an Overlay Network! I summon Cyber Dragon Nova!" The new XYZ monster was summoned. "By removing one XYZ Material, and bringing it on to the field, that one Cyber Dragon back in. I banish it to double my Attack Points!" The 2100 it had became 4200. "Blaze Fenix is now pulverized." Arrox felt his Life Points drain to 2600. "Turn end."
"I draw..." Arrox drew his next card. It was Smashing Ground! "I play Smashing Ground! With this card I destroy the monster with the highest Defense Point Total!" Cyber Dragon Nova was destroyed, crushing Scootaloo's chances of winning the battle. "I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman!" Sparkman appeared with 1600 Attack Points. "Next I equip Lightning Blade to increase his Attack to 2400! Now I attack with Sparkman!" Sparkman rushed at Scootaloo and swung the Lightning Blade at her. Scootaloo felt the wind blast at her as her Life Points hit 0. "Great Game, Arrox," she said as she went down to all fours breathing heavily.
Arrox went down to all fours as well and brohoofed with Scootaloo. Everypony in the crowd but Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon cheered and chanted their names. But now Arrox had another plan. See Twilight Sparkle.
