On the balcony of the friendship castle, Twilight stared at the sunset. Her mind was on Sunset Shimmer and the curse. It had been five weeks since the wedding. Was it all a hoax? Or was it something even worse? She couldn't think otherwise. She had no plan of what to do about it. If Sunset did succeed, what would the land without magic be like? It sounded horrible the way Celestia described it. This place wasn't like Canterlot High, which contained a bit of magic. A few minutes later, Flash walked out to the balcony and stood beside Twilight.
"You need to stop thinking about the curse," Flash stated.
"I can't think of anything but it, I have nightmares every week." Twilight complained.
"What if we could stop it?" Asked Flash.
"You heard Princess Celestia at our wedding, this isn't a curse that the elements can stop!"
"But what if there was another way?"
"And I thought that Tirek was the last evil in Equestria, the biggest one!" Twilight muttered to herself.
"What if someone could tell us how to stop it..."
Flash then came up with an idea.
"Hey, what about your friend Discord?"
Twilight looked at Flash like he was crazy.
"He is not my friend!" Twilight sneered.
"Well, Fluttershy knows him." Flash noted.
"Yeah."
"Maybe he's the guy we can get the answers from."
"We are not going to him Flash."
"Twilight, you have to put your feelings toward him aside and do this."
"Flash! He's the reason Spike isn't here! The reason Spike wasn't the ring bearer for our wedding!" Twilight uttered, choking back tears. "His selfish actions cost the life of my friend."
Flash sighed.
"Look, maybe if we go to him, get the answers, be prepared for the curse, things could turn for the better."
Twilight said nothing.
"It's for the fate of Equestria." Flash finally stated.
"Okay then, we'll go." Twilight sighed.
It was time to see Discord...
Twilight and Flash gathered up the five friends and Celestia to talk to Discord. They had kept him in the dungeon after trespassing in Ponyville. Twilight had formed a new hatred toward Discord after unfortunate incidents. All but Fluttershy had treated him with hatred as well; it was like how they met him all over again. Discord never changed back to his evil ways after the dispute, he had no wish to lose Fluttershy.
The ponies walked down the path toward Discord's dungeon. They met him at his prison cell created especially made to keep him from using his powers to set himself free. They stared at Discord as he formed cotton candy in his lion paw. Fluttershy walked up to his cage first.
"Hi Discord." Fluttershy mumbled.
"Fluttershy!" Discord roared, "I haven't seen you in forever! You have to try this cotton candy, it is probably the best I've ever made!"
Fluttershy didn't smile.
"You know I don't like seeing you here."
Discord saw a tear forming in her eye, this was no time to be funny.
"I know I've messed up, bad." Discord admitted.
He snapped his fingers and the ponies now saw him swinging on a swing.
"But I just have to keep on living."
Twilight didn't want to admit it, but Discord had a point. She couldn't keep worrying about Sunset Shimmer, she just had to keep living her life, not knowing what would happen. But to save Equestria, she needed the future read out.
"Discord," Twilight spoke, "Sunset Shimmer is planning a curse, is that true?"
"You better start thinking about how to save yourselves from the curse." Discord declared.
"Okay then, what do we need to do?"
Discord started giggling.
"What?" Twilight asked.
"Are you sure you want to know?" Discord chuckled.
"Tell me!" Twilight demanded.
Discord couldn't hold it in much longer, and he burst with laughter.
"Twili-Sparkle! Ha, ha, haaa! You are pregnant!!" Ha, haaaa!" Discord roared. "Twilight might say: "Oh no! I'm blowing up! What magical cure can save me? Where are all the books about it?" Ha, ha, haaaaaaa!
Twilight stood with annoyance straight in her eyes. All the mares except Pinkie Pie kept a straight face. Pinkie was the only one who just had to agree with Discord.
"Twilight! Ha ha! He's right you know!" Pinkie giggled.
Twilight gave the pink pony eyes that said "knock it off!" She then turned to Flash.
"Flash, what did we do?" Twilight growled angrily.
Flash chuckled sheepishly. Celestia stepped in on the two.
"Twilight, don't get angry with Flash, this was only destiny." Celestia insisted.
After Twilight calmed down, Discord continued with his prophecy telling.
" Your child will be the one to save us all from the curse in 26 years, but you can't let her be touched by it. She needs to get to the land without magic without being under the spell."
Twilight interrupted Discord.
"Wait a minute, how do we know if it's a she?"
Discord looked at Twilight as if she was stupid.
"Don't I see all, Twilight Sparkle?" Discord snapped in annoyance. "Somepony clearly isn't using their common sense."
"Alright Discord I get it!" Twilight huffed, "It's a she, okay! Now how are we going to get our daughter "away" from this curse?"
Then, Celestia saw it all.
"By using the Tree of Harmony." Celestia stated.
"The tree of harmony?" Twilight wondered.
"Yes."
Celestia used her magic to create a vision.
"We must carve a pocket into the tree, its magical elements will be enough to transport your child to the land without magic. This will be the only way."
As she looked at the diagram, Twilight started to cry. Her friends gathered around her.
"What's wrong, Twilight?" Applejack asked her friend.
"I'm going to have a child, my own kid, and I'm going to have to send her away." Twilight sobbed. "She will grow up without me... what if I never meet her?"
"It's the only way to save Equestria." Rainbow added.
"Twilight Sparkle," Discord spoke. "Your child will save us from the curse, it all depends on your choice. I assure you that if you don't send your baby to the "land without magic" now, Sunset Shimmer will take it away otherwise."
Twilight had to do what was best for everyone, even if it meant not being with her baby. She had to take the chance.
"Flash, send a message to Shining Armor and Princess Cadence about the upcoming events. Girls, you along with the princesses and go cut a pocket for my child in the tree of harmony."
"Now that's the spirit Twilight!" Applejack exclaimed.
"Let's do this." Twilight muttered.
