"Twilight and Flash"

Chapter 2

"It all began on a true, stormy night like this" said Flash "when the wind was howling and making horrifying noises. I was fast asleep in my bed at the Crystal Empire where I used to serve as one of the royal guards there. That night had not only brought a storm, but also a nightmare for me. I was dreaming about my long-lost younger sister, Julia. Julia was my long-lost sister since I had never seen her for many years. I actually hadn't seen her since my childhood but there was a reason to that.
It was right here, on this island, when Julia went missing. That was back when I was ten years old and Julia was nine years old. My family and I were on a trip visiting the North part of West Curvia. We were at the beach one evening, nearby some woods. My Mom and Dad had built a campfire, ready to roast some marshmallows and graham crackers over it. I had brought my guitar to play some songs. Julia was running around like crazy, feeling like she was free to do whatever she wanted. She usually felt like that whenever we were on vacation, wherever we were.
When it got really dark, it happened! My family and I were still enjoying ourselves as I performed songs on my guitar and my parents sang along with them. Julia wasn't sitting around the campfire at that time. She was still running around us when she stopped suddenly. She ran over to me and yelled out: "Tag! You're it, Flash."
"Not right now, Julia." I laughed "I'm kind of in the middle of something here."
"Aw, come on." said Julia "You know you want to!"
"Julia, please." I said
"I know why," said Julia. "You're just being scared!"
"Okay, you asked for it!" I cried as I threw my guitar down and began chasing after Julia.
Julia was a real fast runner that I was not able to catch up with her but I was not ready to give up during that moment. As we drew near towards the woods, our Dad called out to us: "Don't you two wander too far!"
"It's fine, Dad." I said "I'm keeping an eye on her."
Soon, Julia and I were in the woods but not too far away from our parents. We could still hear the beach. Julia was laughing even more as I kept chasing after her. At one point, as I turned around a corner of a tree, I could no longer see Julia anywhere! That instantly shocked me out of my mind.
"Julia, where did you go?" I asked anxiously
There was no reply.
"Come on, Julia," I said. "This isn't funny. Do you want Mom and Dad to find out about this and get us into trouble."
There was still no reply to be heard. I ventured further into the woods. As I turned around another corner, I gasped and began to scream really loudly in terror, so loud that my parents could hear me all the way at the beach. They started rushing over in a hurry. When they found me, they were lost in confusion.
"Flash, what's wrong?" asked my Mother
"Where's Julia?" asked my Dad
"In front of us." I said in a slow and shaky voice.
My parents looked over to where my eyes were and we all came face-to-face with a gigantic, ferocious-looking demon wearing a top hat and cape. He had Julia in his arms and was covering her mouth. There were tears in Julia's eyes like never before.
"C-can we help you?" asked my Dad nervously.
"Please, don't hurt our daughter." shrieked my Mom
"Just give her back." I protested and began lurching forward.
"KEEP AWAY!" growled the demon "Or I'll break her neck!"
I paused quickly. We stared at each other some more.
"Are you going to give us back our daughter?" asked my Dad angrily.
"Her name is Julia, she's only nine years old!" shouted my Mom
"Look," I said calmly. "Let's make a deal. We'll let you know that we won't tell a single living soul that we saw you in this part of Equestria. Not ever. In exchange for that, can we please have Julia back?"
The demon stared at us for a long moment until he said: "I have a better idea. I think I'll take my chances with Julia here while all of you run back to that Princess Celestia of yours and warn to tell her that "the Scoundrel" was here. In the meantime, I'm bringing Julia back to my home on Demon Island."
"What are you going to do to her?" I asked in horror.
"Why, nothing at all." said "the Scoundrel" "But I am going to turn her into one of my slaves. Until we meet again, which is who knows when, I might give her back by then."
We watched in fright as the demon known as "the Scoundrel" made a triumphant laugh and flung his cape around him and Julia. Together they disappeared in clouds of red-orange smoke.
The next day, we dashed over to Canterlot as fast as we could. In no time at all, we were inside Princess Celestia's castle, in one of the main halls. Princess Celestia came out to greet us.
