Four weeks after the defeat and capture of Count Moneybone, the Princesses heard various reports of Skylanders freeing themselves from their statue forms. Upon discovering these events as evidence that the frozen Skylanders used the magical aura of Equestria to free themselves, these new Skylanders would be unaware of where they are. But luckily, there are small groups of Skylanders that are called upon to find these new ones quickly. These new Skylanders have been known to either hide in the shadows or even take up a job. But a new event occurred in Canterlot at Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, it all surrounded a statue that was inside the school and the Sun-Goddess herself saw the whole thing.
Princess Celestia decided to make a personal inspection of the school. Each teacher that she met, told her about how the unicorns are doing with their magic. While others use levitation magic on an odd unicorn statue in one of the classrooms. She looked at the statue and asked,
"Where did this statue come from?" A professor replied, "We don't know exactly. But we theorized that whatever it is, it did not come from Equestria."
Celestia looked at the various pupils that continue to practice at the statue as she found the statue more intimidating than in all its glory. The statue looked like a unicorn, but it was wearing armor that almost looked like it was wearing a whole furnace around its body. The statue's horn had a fury of fire to it, even it's mane and tail looked like it was on fire. She looked towards the flank with hopes of spotting a Cutie Mark, but she found nothing. It was an odd sight as a unicorn started to levitate the statue and soon something extraordinary happened.
The statue absorbed the magic as its eyes began to glow as the unicorn released the levitation spell. The statue started spewing fires from the horn as its tail ignited in flames. The Sun-Goddess saw with her own eyes that a statue that has been in the school for years was actually holding something in suspended animation and today.....it finally awakens. The students were evacuated as the statue itself blew to bits and something else took its place. It first appeared to be a ball of fire until the silhouette of a unicorn emerged as it passed through the flames like it was nothing.
This unicorn is a red stallion, judging by its physical construction and large size wearing that same Furnace Armor that the statue was wearing, but this time he was real. He looked around trying to get a bearing on where he is. Although, he saw Celestia, her Royal Guards and the guards that was blockading the exit. As the Sun-Goddess could tell from the fury in the stallion's eyes, that he was angry....really angry. He didn't speak at first, but she heard him mutter a sound that said, 'The Mane Event.'
Celestia couldn't describe what she is seeing until the unicorn stallion stood on his hind legs, shook his fore hooves in the air and charged towards the door to escape. The Princess had to know who this new unicorn is and ordered guards,
"Guards, keep him from escaping!"
The Guards took their positions with their spears pointing at the charging Fire Unicorn as it let out a whine of anger. The Guards hoped that he would stop charging and answer Celestia's questions, but he didn't stop as his fire horn began to erupt. Celestia blinked for a second until two ethereal Fire Unicorns emerged from the physical, plowing through her Guards and out the door. When Celestia looked outside to see where the Fire Unicorn was going, but there was nothing but a scorch mark and hoof prints leading to that mark. She realized that this Fire Unicorn has the power to call two ethereal versions of himself to assist him in charging the enemy. She realized one thing,
"That Fire Unicorn....is a Skylander." After realizing that it was a Skylander that charged her blockade when she tried to question him. But she knows who could help that Unicorn get adjusted to Equestria if they can find him,
"I need to tell the Skylanders."
In Ponyville, the Skylanders that lived there were honored by many ponies as heroes for everything they do. Although for the Dark Skylander, Blackout, some of the ponies gave him frightened looks because they never seen a Skylander like him before. He didn't mind the frightened looks that many ponies give him. Blackout took up residence at Sweet Apple Acres where Terrafin also lives.
As a free Skylander, Blackout has been fighting evil alongside Spotlight. But now discovering that the Skylanders now answer to two Pony Princesses, who are also Goddesses. When he and Spotlight met Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, these sisters represented the Sun and the Moon, Light and Dark which was ironic. He also noticed that the Swap Skylander, Boom Jet was always at Princess Luna's side, like a bodyguard. But of all the new things that he and Spotlight saw, it was a new experience, much more since that there are still frozen Skylanders out there.
Although ever since Gusto was found, there were reports of Traptanium Shards emerging all over Equestria. Blackout knew for a fact that only a Trap Master's Crystal weapon can destroy a Traptanium Shard. The ponies also want to mine out these shards for further study or to build more traps. But as far as it goes, there are also other frozen Skylanders that would free themselves, but there is one Skylander that he remembers as a bit.....hot tempered. All of a sudden he burped up a message, although he was trying to get used to this new power that the sisters taught him and Spotlight.. He looked at the message although it was addressed to the Skylanders in general,
"Skylanders,
We have an emergency situation that requires your attention. The School for Gifted Unicorns unintentionally had something lying in dormant until it was awakened. I witnessed a statue in the school blow up and something awoken. It was a unicorn stallion that wore a furnace-like armor and he was very hot tempered. He charged passed my guards and disappeared in a large scorch mark. He possesses the power of fire and that's when I realized that this stallion is a Skylander, I need you to find this unicorn Skylander, I believe that he would be hiding in Ponyville. He would be more accepting to you than when he first awakened.
Sincerely, Princess Celestia."
Blackout was at a loss when it mentioned a Unicorn Skylander. The only Skylanders that were Unicorns that he knew of were Twilight and Rarity, but a unicorn with a Fury of Fire was typically something that sounded absolutely familiar to the dragon. He thought over of many of the brave warriors that he helped during the war until the image of that unicorn came to his head as Blackout spoke the name,
"Trail Blazer?"
All of a sudden he felt a snowflake fall, he looked up and saw that the once bright sky gave way to clouds and now Winter has begun to take its toll on Ponyville. Blackout knew that it was that time of year again, but he also needed to find Trail Blazer.
He always knew that Trail Blazer is hot-tempered, even if things are unfair. Blackout knew how he got his fire power and respected it, but he's in a new place and the ponies of Equestria are going to be shocked to discover that there was a Fire Unicorn in the Skylanders, and he is Skylands-born. Blackout decided to locate Trail Blazer as he shifted his sight to pick up Trail Blazer's trace.
The Dragon ran through the light snow as his senses picked up a dark scorch mark on the outskirts of town along with charred hoof prints heading towards Sweet Apple Acres. Blackout knew one thing, Trail Blazer was heading for Sweet Apple Acres.
In the Apple Forest near Sweet Apple Acres, the Fire Unicorn, Trail Blazer was in-fact trail-blazing through the forest as he was running away from the potential threat, which was mostly from the Alicorn that ordered his capture after his awakening. Although it was snowing, the blaze from his mane and tail kept him warm....at least for now. Trail Blazer does not know how long until he can find someplace warm before his fires go out and if that happens, he would surely perish due to the cold. As the unicorn came to a stop, he noticed voices nearby, and because he thought that those were search parties out to get him, he hid in a bush near an apple tree. As he hid, he managed to make out some of the voices as one sounded like a cowgirl,
"Ya'll sure that there is a Unicorn Skylander runnin' around in Sweet Apple Acres?" The Fire Unicorn managed to take a peak at what is looking for him as he gently moved a piece of the bush to get a clear, but stealthy view. He saw a group of ponies, one was an Earth Pony with a Cowgirl hat, one was a Pegasus with a cyan coat and rainbow mane as she said,
"Blackout told us that he found those scorch marks leading here to the acres. And with luck, he wouldn't have gone far....well not with me around."
Although he gave an irritated stare at this mare's enthusiasm because being so full of yourself might be a key to success, but it can also be a key to failure as well. He also heard her say the very name that belonged to his friend, Blackout. It was years since he seen him, he was an ally to the Alliance during Malefor's conflict. But in time before being slipped away from their world, he called Blackout his friend. If Blackout is here, then he must've found out about his awakening. Until another pony came into view, a unicorn mare. She had a lavender coat and a purple mane with a pink streak on it, she turned to the group and said,
"Blackout told Princess Celestia that when this Trail Blazer awakened, the sight of armed guards frightened him when she ordered him to be detained for questioning. She didn't realize that he was a Skylander until he displayed his power, so for all we know, he is frightened and very aggressive."
Trail Blazer softly said, "Well, that's putting it mildly." Thankfully the three ponies didn't hear him speak as the Pegasus spoke,
"And that's why she sent us to find him. If she found him....well Flame City. But if we found him, he would speak calmly to us, right?" This Princess Celestia flashed into his mind as he made his escape from that school. SHE was the Alicorn who ordered his capture which felt unfair to him. Although he was angry, he decided to move to a different spot as his flaming hooves crunched silently through the snow without drawing the attention of the three mares.
He managed to make it out of the Apple Woods where he saw a farm near his location and an old friend standing in his path as he said, "I had a feeling that you would try to hide here."
Trail Blazer looked at Blackout in shock, "Blackout, how did you escape capture!?" Blackout smiled, "Same old Trail Blazer. I was never captured by these ponies."
The unicorn asked, "You were never captured by these ponies, but Why did you tell them about me!?"
The Dragon stared at his friend, "Because they are our allies!! That incident at the school was a misunderstanding. Princess Celestia didn't know that you were a Skylander until you plowed through her guards and ran out the door. She sent Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and I to find you and give you a letter from the Princess herself."
Trail Blazer spoke in a calm tone, "She....ordered my capture....over a misunderstanding?" He didn't know what to think about the Alicorn making a misunderstanding over his awakening. Blackout gave him the letter as the unicorn held it in his magic as the dragon said, "It was addressed to you, specifically and you might want to read it."
Trail Blazer unfolded the message and read, "To the Skylander known as Trail Blazer,
I am writing this message to you just to say, I am sorry for ordering my guards to capture you. I have witnessed several Skylander Awakenings in the past four weeks as well as the appearance of several Traptanium Shards all across Equestria, but your awakening was something out of the ordinary. You were once a large statue in the School for Gifted Unicorns and when you awakened, you were a stallion sized fire unicorn. I should've known about you beforehoof but it was easily misunderstood that you were an evil creature because of your hot-headedness. Now that I know that you are not evil, but angry at my guards attempting to detain you. I realized that you were a Skylander when I saw your power of fire, Blackout told me your name and your 'unique' personality, but if it could make up for that little misunderstanding. I want you to accept my apology and join me, my sister, Master Eon and the other Skylanders in Canterlot Castle where we are preparing a holiday dinner in the Spirit of season.
From Princess Celestia."
The fire unicorn finished reading the note as he was soon gathered by the three mares that he saw earlier as the three of them stood in awe at his flaming looks as he asked, "How long have you mares been standing there?"
Twilight replied, "Long enough to see the first Skylands-born unicorn."
Applejack replied, "Well ah'll be a apple on harvesting season, a unicorn from Skylands!"
Rainbow Dash gasped saying 'Oh my gosh' several times as Trail Blazer smiled and said to Blackout, "Tell Princess Celestia that I accept her apology and I would gladly join the rest of our team for dinner." Blackout smiled, "She knows."
All five of them were teleported to Canterlot Castle where Trail Blazer was welcomed among the Skylanders as Celestia herself personally greeted him as he bowed his head towards her as a sign of appreciation and acceptance of her apology. Trail Blazer was actually happy when he saw his team again and brand new allies as well.
In Skylands, there is a golden desert where a golden pyramid resides, but it's not the pyramid it what's inside it. Inside the Pyramid there is a throne room where the leader of the most dangerous gang of mercenaries sat. The Mercenary Gang is called the Doom Raiders which were imprisoned in Cloudcracker Prison until the Apes blew it up, now the Doom Raiders are now seeking revenge against the Skylanders for all the trouble they caused them. Their leader is a queen made entirely of gold as she sat on her throne while a floating head came to her,
"My Queen, Dr Krankcase and Chef Pepperjack have been looking about the Equestrian Isles for several days and they already saw more of these EQG Skylanders as the natives call them. They are humanized versions of their Equestrian Skylanders."
The Golden Queen nodded, "Yes, Dreamcatcher. If the Skylanders are able to get such powerful forces for their team. They have managed to master inter-dimensional travel. All we need is a Multiverse Portal of our own and we can bring forth EQGs that could fight for us."
Wolfgang who was strumming his Bone Guitar said, "We could be able to have Krankcase modify his Goo Transporter with some supplies that we managed to steal from the Isles. Then from here on out, it's nothing but EQGs allies for ourselves."
The Golden Queen took note of his suggestion and spoke to Dreamcatcher, "Tell Dr Krankcase to head back to his lab and modify his transporter. Keep Pepperjack in observation distance for any sign of Him."
The floating head acknowledged, "Yes, My Queen." She floated off towards the exit.
Wolfgang was irritated when she mentioned Him, "Ya still hunting Krypt King? I thought you got over him after he locked us up!"
The Golden Queen turned the Werewolf as she said, "He fooled me once, but not a second time." Wolfgang silently said, "Whatever keeps your love sickness in check."
The Golden Queen clenched her golden fist as she walked to a picture of Krypt King saying, "You can't fool me, Krypt King. This time, you will be mine."
