The CB Series: Story 2) A Red-Striped Demon

by Plum Rose

Prologue

Outside, it was still dark. Stars were barley visible, and the sun had not risen yet. Although not many ponies were up at this time in the morning, one family of four was. As the ponies of this family awoke, they did not know that this day would change their lives forever.

"Soaring Eagle, wake up," came the smooth, loving voice of a stallion.

The zony alicorn groaned and sat up. "Yes?" she mumbled, blinking the sleep out of her eyes, yawning.

"It's time to go," Vixon, her beloved husband answered, watching her tenderly.

"Okay," Soaring answered.

After a quick hug, Soaring lifted into the air and flew out of the building. It was just before dawn, when neither the sun nor moon could be seen. This was the time Celestia had told Soaring to abide over. This, and just before dusk was her kingdom. As she flew, familiar high pitched screams of terror filled her ears. She looked frantically for the source. A young foal sat frozen in the road, a toy ball by her side, as an out of control taxi swerved towards her. Without a second thought, Soaring dived for the foal, determination and fear flooding her senses. She was nearly there when a glare blinded her. The sun had risen. She swerved, unable to see. The screams cut off. "Nooo!" Soaring yelled. Tears flowed down her face, a hatred burning hotter than a million suns for Celestia overtaking all her trust and love for her former mentor. Her eyes narrowed as she flew back home. In the bathroom, she pulled out blood red dye and went to work on her stripes.

The zony approached the castle, a spear in hoof, her stripes like blood. She shouted a battle cry, crashing through one of many of Celestia's windows.

"Soaring Eagle, what is going on?" the sun princess asked.

"Your sun caused the death of my only daughter! I'm only avenging her life and snuffing out your- your horrid light! And don't call me Soaring Eagle, wench. Call me Crimson Blood," growled the enraged princess.

"Wh-Aaah!" screamed Celestia as Crimson charged towards her with rage. Celestia moved to the side, but the spear tore the underside of her wing. Blood leaked onto the floor, and a couple of her feathers were torn from their plumage, quickly stained red. Her horn lit up, and an old spear, a relic, floated to her side. "Please, Soaring, don't make me banish you," she cried, sorrow filling her large eyes.

"I hate you! I'll kill you!" Crimson Blood screamed in reply. She charged again, and this time she nearly hit her mark. The spear buried itself deeply in Celestia's leg. A smirk played across her face as her enemy screamed in agony and remorse. But her happiness was quickly replaced with confusion and fear as a new, darker aura surrounded her body. She looked around frantically to see who it came from. Princess Luna was standing in the doorway, her face twisted in rage. Magical chains twisted around Crimson's legs and wings, and a suppression ring was put on her horn to keep her from using magic.

"Soaring Eagle, you are on trial for assault on Princess Celestia. She has decided to give you one more chance, and your sentence will be based on how you act today," called judge Daria.

"Soaring, is this true?" called a male voice, thick with disbelief. That voice belonging to Crimson's husband, Vixon.

Right then, Celestia herself walked in. Her face looked strong with courage, but deep down she was crying in woes. She didn't want Soaring Eagle to be banished like her beloved sister Princess Luna had been, but after the physical injuries and how she continued to threaten to kill her, Celestia didn't want to risk it.

Hatred flared in Crimson's eyes. "You killed my daughter! I'll avenge her if it's the last thing I do!" screamed the crazed mare. She lunged at the white alicorn, but her chains held her back.

"Mommy, stop!" cried the pitiful voice of a young colt.

"Thunder, stay out of this!" she snapped, glaring at her only other child, Thunder Storm.

The colt burst into tears, and his father pulled him close, watching Crimson Blood with a pained expression.

"Soaring Eagle, you are banished to Tartarus!" Daria shouted, slamming down the gavel.

"I'll be back for my revenge, Celestia! Remember the name Crimson Blood! It'll be the last thing you hear before I KILL YOU!" Crimson screamed, struggling at her chains as Luna's aura once again surrounded her. Everything faded to black, then lit back up halfway. Crimson shouted in rage as she stood on her black prison, fire surrounding her.
