The Fall of Gallopfrey

The Battle

“You will never get away with this!” The voice of an angered and scared Twilight Sparkle can be heard by the four ponies in the labyrinth of crystals.
“Oh, but I already have!” The voice of someone who sounded like Princess Cadence, but didn’t at the same time. The ponies could not see the other being due to the obstacle of the crystals.
“We’ve got to help them!” Midnight chimed in and looked at the grey Time Pony with a worried expression appearing on his face.
“No, Midnight. We must let events play out the way they were intended to…” The grey Time Pony frowned at Midnight and then turned towards the younger version of himself, “I noticed that you have Captain Jack’s vortex manipulator. Can you take Midnight up to the Castle to scout around for any extra resources?”
“On it.” The younger Doctor grabbed Midnight’s hoof and pressed a button on the wristwatch-looking device. Before Midnight could say anything, the two ponies were in a library.
“What was that…?” A new, but familiar voice can be heard in the library. In this specific library, the blinds were shut and the skylight was closed. The younger Doctor looked at Midnight who had slid behind a bookshelf.
“What’re you doing?” The younger Doctor asked Midnight as he peeped his head out to the other side, quickly retracting it.
“That’s me. Two years ago.” Midnight concluded with a worried expression, “With all of this time travelling and such, won’t we create a paradox or something?!”
“Not if this is how the events already played out in history…” The younger Doctor replied to Midnight, and the Doctor quickly scanned around the room. He then pressed a button on his wristwatch, grabbed Midnight’s hoof, and then flashed down to the basement. The young Doctor looked at the older Doctor and frowned slightly, “There’s only one exit. That will take us into the Royal Gardens.”
“How do we get there…?” The older Doctor wondered aloud, and that’s when the younger Twilight Sparkle galloped in our direction and nearly tackled the brown-furred Time Pony.
“Doctor!” She pleaded, motioning to a seemingly lifeless, pink furred body laying in the rocks, “Cadence is unconscious, and the Royal Wedding is in less than an hour! I need your help!”
“Calm down, Miss Twilight.” The young Doctor relaxingly smiled and trotted over to the lifeless body. He pulled out his blue-tipped sonic screwdriver and scanned what appeared to be Princess Cadence to Midnight. The Doctor turned back to Twilight with a confident grin, “She’ll wake in a moment. She can help get all of us out of here. We’re in some big trouble with the-”
“Changelings, I know.” Twilight cut the Doctor off and glanced in Minuette, the older Doctor, and Midnight’s direction. She took a minute to look at the grey Time Pony and then looked back at the brown Time Pony, “There’s two of you?”
“I’m from his future.” The grey Time Pony replied to Twilight with a cocky smile, “But listen, we need to get out of here.”
“Ugh…” Quiet moaning could be heard in the distance, and Twilight rushed to the pink Alicorn’s side.
“Cadence! Please wake up!” Twilight pleaded, then turned around to give the younger Doctor puppy-dog eyes, “Are you sure she’ll be okay?”
“Twilight…” Cadence muttered, then stood up to look at the rest of the group, “Alright… two Time Ponies, and two normal ponies. We must get up to the castle!”
“Yeah, about that…” Midnight sheepishly chimed in, “We need to find a way to get up there… A route that I maybe won’t run into my past self again?”
Cadence shakes her head, “If we hurry, we can stop the reception!”
After a few moments of wandering, the six ponies found a passage leading up to the surface world of Canterlot. The two Doctors struck up a topic of conversation about their past, Twilight and Cadence talked about Cadence’s soon-to-be husband, otherwise known as Twilight’s older brother. After about ten minutes of galloping and magical draining of some of the ponies, the six of them found themselves outside the chapel.
“Here’s the plan,” Twilight and Cadence spoke up, “Cadence and I will charge in there, and you, Doctors, will find the TARDIS. Get Midnight and Minuette home to their current timelines. Let history play out the way it should.”
“On it.” Both Doctors nodded, and dragged Minuette and Midnight with them to search the streets of Canterlot.
After about ten minutes of searching, the two Doctors located a TARDIS one a street corner, but they had worse issues at hand. The changeling drones managed to break down the magical barrier that shielded Canterlot. Suddenly there were Drones all around the four of them.
“Too many of them…!” The Doctors, Minuette, and Midnight climbed into the one TARDIS and activated flight mode. The TARDIS lurched forward and quickly materialised in the main hall of the castle. As the four ponies came out of the TARDIS, they were just in time to see the six Elements of Harmony form a rainbow tornado and wrap said tornado around the Changeling queen. Twilight glanced over at the younger Doctor with a look that read, “thank you.” The Doctors then pushed the two others back into the TARDIS.
After what seemed like seconds, Midnight and Minuette stepped out onto Ponyville square. The grey Doctor pulled out his green-tipped sonic screwdriver and scanned the area, “Ponyville, present day.” He turned around to the brown Doctor and smiled, “Good luck, and thank you.”
The younger Doctor said nothing, stepped back into his TARDIS and disappeared. The grey Doctor then smiled at the two ponies, “Well, I’d better do the same. Places to go, etcetera.”
“Wait.” Midnight stopped the Doctor before he could have the chance to trot away, “Will we ever see you again?”
“All in due time.” The Doctor smiled at the two ponies one last time and started to trot away.

Now, where to next?
