Twilight stood impatiently waiting for the train to arrive. She and the rest of the six were going to Canterlot for Harth's warming eve. Celestia said in her most recent letter there would be a buffet ready for her celebrating her first Harth's warming eve as a Princess.
Twilight didn't make a big fuss about her new royal title. The most she had used it for was to help Scootaloo with her broken wing. After all the nurse was taking a long time. The most important thing for Twilight on this visit was visiting Princess Luna. Sure Celestia was Twilight's mentor, it was how Luna made her feel. Celestia couldn't provide this feeling. Love. Celestia did in fact love Twilight as her own, Luna made her feel all warm inside and happy.
" Hey Rarity is this everything you need?" Spike asked as he carried the bags of luggage. Rarity usually packed a whole lot of bags but this time it was only four.
" Princess Celestia said to pack light. After all most of it is scarves." Rarity stated. Spike set one of the bags down and opened it,he saw many pink scarves. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He closed the case taking it back into his claws. Twilight rolled her eyes.
The train arrived in a few minutes. Many ponies were getting off with suit cases. Most of them looked as if they were visiting relatives in Ponyville for the holidays. Rarity was about to board one of the crowded train freights until Twilight stopped her.
" I knew this would be a problem. So I asked Princess Celestia to see if she could book us a private cart." Twilight explained. Rarity nodded. At the end of the train there was a empty train cart. A guard was in front of it, making sure ponies couldn't go inside.
" Ooo the class in this cart." Rarity said as she walked into the train. The seats were laced with dark blue ribbons and they seats were made out of nice red velvet. Twilight sat down to think. She also was going to be able to see Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. It was going to be great. The train ride was not as long as Twilight thought it would be,not as long as she wanted it to be. She was nervous about being with all of the other Alicorns. Mostly Luna.
" Party!" Pinkie Pie was the first out of the train. Twilight let her friends have fun;she wanted to talk to Luna. She was growing fond of Luna. If Celestia found out how she truly felt about Luna, She would probably send Luna back to the moon for another 1000 years for stealing her crush. She walked to Princess Luna's royal chambers. The guards let her in. Luna was up on her bed reading a book. She didn't know how to talk to her.
" Greetings, Twilight Sparkle," Luna said. Twilight cleared her throat and walked over to the mare. Her chambers are totally dark except for the candles light that glow on her coat. She was sure what to say.
" Hello Luna," Twilight said," Why are you not at the party?" she asked. Luna arose from her bed the blanket falling on the floor. Her mane was disheveled.
Luna smiled." I rule during the night that why I am not at the party. This is my time of rest," She answered. Twilight nodded,putting on the sheepish grin ever. Luna went into the bathroom to tidy herself up.
" Listen Luna I need to tell you something," Twilight Sparkle started," I want the most honest answer ever." Twilight finished.
Luna nodded. " I shall give you the most honest answer." Luna insisted.
" Do you like me?"
Luna gave a confused look,followed by a confused giggle.
" Of course I like you."
" I mean more than as a friend." Twilight stammered out. Luna did not answer. A bright pink blush grew to the Princess' cheeks.
" I am left wordless." Luna said,tone low and quiet. The purple Alicorn looked down at shame. She could not believe that she told her. So stupid! She kept her head down until a soft kiss was placed on her cheeks. Twilight looked up,a bright red blush growing on her face.
" I am so confused! I was sure you didn't have feelings for me." Twilight said.
" Listen Twilight Sparkle I have been meaning to repay for freeing me from my Nightmare moon state. And I feel being your mare friend is the least I could do for you." Luna stated. Twilight's face grew a huge grin on it as she hugged her Princess of the night.
Luna smiled back as she returned the hug. Twilight went to her quarters happy. Princess Luna as her mare friend. She could not believe it!. Twilight jumped onto the bed. It was Harths warming eve and the party would be starting in a couple hours. Rarity rushed into her room.
" Twilight the party is in five hours and your not even ready?!" Rarity asked. Twilight sat up. Before she could say anything Rarity grabbed Twilight by her hoof and rushed her into the bathroom. Twilight sat and let her friend wash and comb her mane. She wondered what Luna would be wearing. It really didn't matter to Twilight,she thought Luna would look beautiful in anything.
Rarity yanked at her mane,pulling out a small knot. She winced slightly.
" Sorry Twilight! Hold on...Almost! Got it!" Rarity shouted. Twilight saw her mane. It was styled the same as when she just got crowned as Princess. Rarity brought Twilight back into the room.
" Twilight what would look better blue or purple for your second layer?" Rarity asked. Twilight did not answer,she stared into space. She couldn't seem to get Luna off of her mind.
" Oh sorry for dosing off. I think p-purple would look good for the second layer." Twilight stuttered. Rarity titled her head slightly. She smiled warmly.
" What is bothering you,dear?" Rarity asked.
" Well...Luna asked me to be her marefriend and I am still unsure how to act," Twilight started," I mean I've liked Princess Luna since we freed her from her Nightmare moon stage. She told me how she wanted to repay me for freeing her by being her mare friend. I didn't know how to respond!" Twilight nearly shouted. Rarity's eyes grew wide.
