War on Harmony

A Dragon's Grief

10 years later...

I walked briskly into the throne room and sure enough Luna was there. Now normally I would have been happy to see my marefriend but today was different. Luna has been acting differently, and somewhat bitter. "Luna is something wrong? I've noticed that you've been acting strange, are you OK?" She turned to glare at me which made my blood run ice cold.
"Did you really expect me to sit idlely by while ponies played in my sister's precious day?" Wait, is this what's bothering her? "There can only be one princess of Equestria and it will be me!" she exclaimed as she smashed the balcony railing with her forehooves.
I watched as shadows creeped along the floor, and then up the wall behind Luna. A crack appeared in the wall behind her and spread up until it reached the window which shattered apart. I watched in shock as the moon rose up and blocked out the sun. Then a swirl of magic energy formed around her and I watched as she was transformed into a mare of darkness. Her mane, tail, and coat were pitch black and her cutie mark was now a light blue.
Then Celestia arrived. "Luna you must lower the moon, it is your duty!" I was hoping that perhaps Celestia could snap her out of it.
"Luna? I am no longer Luna. I am Nightmare Moon. I now only have one royal duty now: To destroy you!!!"
I leaped aside as she fired a charged blast of magic and Celestia took flight with Nightmare Moon flying after her. I spread my own wings and proceeded to fly after the Alicorns. Celestia was dodging blast after blast from Nightmare Moon until she got hit by a lucky shot, which sent her falling from the sky.
"CELESTIA!!!!" I started to fly toward Celestia, to catch her but I then got hit by an electric spell from Nightmare Moon. I landed in the throne room and as I started to stand I noticed that Celestia had landed inside as well. "Celestia are you alright?" But as she stood up she didn't answer me.
Then to herself she seemed a bit heartbroken. "Oh dear sister why must you do this? You leave me no choice but to use these." Her horn glowed as a section of the floor retracted and raising up on a pedestal was the Elements of Harmony. "Tia, wait." She stopped and looked at me. "There has be another way."
"I wish there was Logan but there isn't."
And before I could say anything else, she levitated the elements from their places and they started circling around her as their magic activated and she proceeded to fly out the hole in the ceiling.
I followed her out and landed on the roof, and watched as Nightmare Moon unleashed massive blast of dark energy which was met by a blast of rainbow magic from the elements. However, as expected the elements started to overpower her magic and overwhelm her. "Noooooo!!!!" I watched with tears in my eyes as the pony that had been my marefriend for eight years, get sent into the moon.

The next morning...

Dear Celestia I would have stayed until you had woken up but I couldn't stop thinking about Luna. I want you to know that you might not see me for a while, I just need some time to recover from her loss. Hope to see you again one day Celestia. Your friend Dragon Prince Logan.
