"Twenty buckets of oats on the wall, Twenty buckets of oats! Take one down, Pass it around, You got Nineteen buckets of oat on the wall!" Navi continued to sing.
I felt my eye muscles start to twitch every time she would start a new verse. Braeburn was walking again though, so that's a burden off my back.
"Someone kill me now..." I muttered under my breath.
Suddenly a intense burning pain shot down my left arm, causing me to stop in place and wince.
"Ta- Heather? What's wrong?" Navi asked.
"My arm is burning for some reason!" I yelled.
Navi gestured for me to kneel down, so I did. She hopped up on my knee and pulled back the sleeve covering my left shoulder and looked at it. I could hear she silently cursed and I flinched. I looked at it and I could feel my face loose all color. My shoulder was a sickly black color and where the bite was hard and shiny. She looked at me, worried.
"Did a changeling bite you." She asked sternly.
"Well,-" I started
"One word. NOW!" She demanded.
"Yes!" I said, rolling my eyes.
She cursed silently again and said "Certain types of changelings are venomous! You got bit by a harvester, The kind that put Braeburn into the cocoon! Their venom will slowly convert a pony to a full changeling while they're in that cocoon. You're obviously aren't a pony, so I have no idea how this will effect you!"
My eye twitched again...
"So, I'm going to die?" I asked, staring her in the eyes.
"Potentially no, But, like I said, since you're not a pony, I have no idea what It'll do." She said, The worried expression returning.
"Well... is there something to help it?" I asked.
I really didn't want to deal with this. I just wanted to live my life... Preferably without all this.
"Well, I know of a zebra who housed me for a little bit while I left to explore the world... but there's a problem..." She said, hoofing the ground a bit.
"So?" I asked.
"She lives in the Everfree forest..." She said.
"Th' Ev'rfree? Ah've heard of that place. It's dang'rous, Or so ah've heard." Braeburn spoke up.
"How?"
"Creatures like, timberwolves, Manticores, River serpents, Cockatrices," She took a gasp
"Chimeras, Cragadiles, and Dragons!" She said.
I remained silent, just to make her think I was listening.
"So?"
Let's just say after that I now have hoof marks on my stomach...
"What did you do that for?!" I wheezed at her.
"For not listening!" She yelled at me.
The burning pain shot back up my left arm and GOD DID IT HURT!!!
"FUCK!" I shouted.
I realized what I said and winced.
"Why do you keep doing that?! Is the pain that bad?" Navi asked.
I shook my head.
"I... I don't want to talk about it..."
'Why did I say that?! If my mom knew... I'd get grounded... Why did he have to leave...'
I discreetly wiped away a tear.
"We... We better get going..." I said.
"O-ok..." Navi said.
I think she's on to me...
