It was already autumn with the leaves falling down from the trees. Orange, yellow, red leaves were all around Ponyville even the Everfree forest had the autumn colors of the season. The sounds of hooves could be heard along a narrow path around Ponyville with the twin sisters Rainbowshine and Dizzy Twister dashing along the path. Rainbowshine being the oldest and fastest out of the pair, she was ahead of her sister by a huge nose-length. She dashing faster and faster with every breeze she felt in her mane, Rainbowshine always felt the need for speed when it was autumn after all the season brought the Running Of The Leaves, tomorrow. With all of this racing, they were doing there were most likely to win the competition.
"Put a bit more step in your dashing, Dizzy! We want to win not lose!" Dizzy Twister sighed in annoyance, stopping along the path, flapping her wings. Dizzy flew ahead of her sister, leaving a few leaves on her sister's face. Rainbowshine wiped her face off with her hooves, let out a huff in annoyance, flapping her wings as well, flying after her sister. The sisters were flying as fast as lightning at the speeds they were going. Dizzy looked behind her, to see her sister trying to catch up to her.
"I'm not the brightest piece of hay in the farm but I'm the fastest piece of hay, you ever seen!" Dizzy said, laughing at her slower sister. She flapped her wings faster, with the pegasus' body going faster almost like a single twister. She swirled around a few ponies that were on the path, sending them "dizzy" in her dust, her sister sweating trying to catch up to her. Rainbowshine landed to the ground when she was over exhausted from all the flying, Dizzy Twister flew back to the pegasus. "What wrong?" She asked Rainbowshine.
Rainbowshine looked up at Dizzy, wiping the sweat off of her forehead. She folded in her wings in embarrassment, "It's my stupid wings that what wrong!". The wisteria coated mare stood up, looking at her sore wings.
"You still can't catch – ", Rainbowshine kicked her in the hind legs "– up to me." Dizzy was on the ground, staring at her sister with an irritated look on her face. Rainbowshine step in front of her sister, trying to hide the now hurt pegasus. She had her ears flatten, staring at the direction in front of them to only see a dark gray coated, amber eyed and blue-silver maned and tailed pegasus stallion walking towards their direction. "Uh oh, Thunderlane!" Rainbowshine froze her eyes looking deeply at the stallion's amber-colored eyes, her cheeks blushing, her mouth speechless for words at his looks. Dizzy looked at her sister and then at Thunderlane, she quickly got up from the ground, pushing her sister in some nearby bushes when Thunderlane finally approached them.
"Hiya Dizzy Twister. I saw your moves just a few minutes ago, I have to say that you got some serious skills!"
"Thanks, Thunderlane! That means a lot from a pegasus, like yourself." He smiled, but his smile soon faded away. "Where Rainbowshine, I thought I saw her with you?" The mare was sweating like crazy at Thunderlane's question with her sister Rainbowshine watching them from the bushes. Rainbowshine sighed, putting her hooves under her chin, staring at Thunderlane's blue-silver mane and tail, like he was a god to her."Why can't I just walk up to him and tell him my feelings for him," whispered Rainbowshine.
Before Dizzy could answer his question, the mare herself showed up out of nowhere with her sister Cloudchaser by her side. Flitter pranced up to her coltfriend, nuzzling the stallion by the muzzle, sending Thunderlane's cheeks to blushing bright red. The sight of them made Rainbowshine want to throw up, and punch Flitter's little face. Cloudchaser let out a yawn, looking at Dizzy, closely. "Hello Dizzy Twister." Cloudchaser said, a smirk on her little face. Dizzy looked up at the fellow pegasus, smiling at her, a bit. "Hi to you too, Cloudchaser!" The not so bright light khaki coated mare said, blushing a pale pinkish red at Cloudchaser. The mare kicked a rock, some a rare sight of shyness. Thunderlane and Flitter chuckled at the two mares' little scene of love.
Rainbowshine smiled, letting out a chuckle as well. "She is a stallion stealer but she does have a sense of humor. I'll give her that at least. But she still not worthy of being with Thunderlane." She sighed, sitting down lowering her head at the thought of them, still together. It made her feel even more jealous.
"I guess this is the daily hardships I face everyday with this dumb crush, I have on him!" Thunderlane turned his head to direction of the voice
"Rainbowshine is that you?" He asked, standing in front of the bushes she was hiding in. She started to picnic, not knowing what to do, she sighed. Freezing for a moment, before she leaped at Thunderlane. Rainbowshine was on top of the stallion, her hooves around his neck. When she opened her eyes, she and Thunderlane were blushing at each other at their positions. Flitter walked over to them, knocking Rainbowshine off of her stallion. Helping Thunderlane up, dusting off the dirt on his mane and coat. Rainbowshine bumped into Dizzy Twister's front hooves, Dizzy helped her up, dusting her off. "Thanks, Dizzy." Dizzy smiled, nodding her head at her older sister.
Rainbowshine looked at the couple, rolling ears in irritation. She looked at them, soon turning the other direction, folding in her wings tighter at the aching pain of them, and her. Dizzy Twister looked at Flitter, Thunderlane and Cloudchaser, waving goodbye to them before she padded up to her older sister. Cloudchaser followed after them, flying above Dizzy's head. The pink maned and tailed with a light pink streak mare looked up at the pegasus, smiling. She flew around the other flying pegasus, Dizzy swirled all around Cloudchaser making the mare, "dizzy". Cloudchaser then bumped into Dizzy Twister, making both of them fall out of the sky, landing on top of Rainbowshine. Thunderlane and Flitter dashed over to the three mares, trying their hardest not to laugh out loud. Rainbowshine gave Dizzy and Cloudchaser a glare. The mares got off of her, looking at each other, laughing and giggling.
