//------------------------------// // 4: The Lonely Years, A New Friend, & The Agreement Prt 2 // Story: The Legend of The Vamponies: The Beginning // by Night-Moon-12 //------------------------------// 4: The Lonely Years, A New Friend, & The Agreement Part 2 Star Streak had found Velvet by scent, but when she saw his eyes, he was blind. Velvet knew that it was very possible a one of her kind to be born blind, like Star Streak… ‘Oh boy, I hope that I don’t have be married to somepony worse than a blind pony….’ A smile crossed her face about the next thought that popped into her head. ‘At least a blind nice pony is better than a blind cruel pony.’ Velvet tried not be frightened, or anything of that sort. The daylight that was to come didn’t come at all, but a pony began to take form right next Velvet’s hiding place. It was a dark mare with a starry mane & tail, a sharp horn and wings stood before the vamponies, looking into the rain cylinder spotting Velvet inside. The black mare levitated the little princess of the cylinder setting Velvet on the ground before her. “What are you doing in there little one?” asked the darker mare, with a raised eyebrow. “I think that you were hiding from somepony, in fear if I am not mistaken?” “How are you?” asked King Moon Dawn stepping in between the black alicorn and the gray alicorn that was his daughter. “I am Nightmare Moon, mistress of the night, the stars, and the Moon. Who are you, stallion?” “I am Moon Dawn, King of the western clan.” “Clan of what? If I may ask?” “The Western Clan of Vamponies.” “Who are you, little one? You have quite a lovely pair of wings…” Nightmare Moon smiling at Velvet with sharp pointed white teeth. “This is…” Dawn was cut off by Nightmare Moon. “I was asking the mare, not you kind sir.” Velvet answered after taking in a worried gulp. “I’m Princess Velvet Twilight.” “And what are you doing out here, Little Princess?” “I came out here to see outside world, because I’ve been stuck in a cave for most of my life.” “I have a proposition for Velvet Twilight. I would like to make you my personal student, and teach you all that I know.” Nightmare Moon said with gentle, yet graceful smile. Velvet felt her heart leap out of her chest at this once in a lifetime chance, but yet she would be leaving her father and people. “Velvet, whatever you choose, my dear, I will respect it.” “Dad…” “It’s what your mother would have wanted, Velvet.” Velvet, for the first time in the longest time, found the will to look at her very own father in happiness, joy, and even hugged him. Dawn was happy to see joy in his own daughter’s eyes in the longest time. When the hug ended Velvet turned to her friends as they came out from hiding, Gaze had a smile gracing his face. Velvet had made almost a town-full friends in such a short time, Nightmare waited patiently for her newest student to say her good-byes to the ponies she’d met. She cleared her throat, before speaking. “Come Velvet Twilight, it’s times to go.” “Ok…” Velvet said before turning to follow Nightmare Moon.
