Dark Eclipse, a ten year old unicorn with a black mane and tail, gray fur, sky blue eyes, and an eclipse for a cutie mark, stood at the top of a set of stairs, looking down at his parents, who were getting ready to leave for Equestria. He closed his eyes and sighed.
'I wish I could go with them...' Dark Eclipse thought to himself, as he watched his parents pack their things from atop the stairs. 'But their gonna need some extra bits when they get to Equestria, and I'm staying with the Waters until I get some bits to go, so its not like we're saying goodbye forever.' He was suddenly jolted out of his thoughts when his mother called to him. "Darkie, sweetie, it's time for us to go!" she yelled at him. When he got to the bottom of the stairs, He gave his mom and dad a hug. His mom, Lunar Eclipse, and his dad, Solar Eclipse were heading to Equestria for new land. The only problem with that was because the boat ride cost from Atlantis to Equestria had been raised right before they were planing to leave, thus having to leave Dark with the Waters, who were good family friends with the Eclipses.
The Waters were very nice ponies. There were three of them in the family: Their fourteen year old son, Dusk Water, his mother, Pure Water, and his father, Magic Water. They usually took care of Eclipse when his parents had to go some where, weather it was for a job, or when they had a date night, so they were more than happy to take him in. 'I still wonder why they enjoy having me over,' he thought to himself. When ever he went over there, Magic Water would always help him learn how to control and use his magic, Pure Water would always let him decide what would be for dinner, and Dusk would always play with him. What he always found odd, though, is that Magic Water was a Unicorn, Pure Water was an Earth pony, and Dusk was a Pegasus. 'I wonder why that is.. Dusk isn't adopted, so I-' He was jolted out of his thoughts again when his mother said something to get his attention.
"Hey, Darkie sweetie, I got something for you!" His mother said, and handed him a small, wrapped up box.
Dark pondered about what it was for a moment. "What is it?" He asked his mother.
"Open it and find out!" She said.
He thought about it for another moment or two, then decided to open it. When he did, he was confused about what it was.
"What.. is it?" He said, as he turned it around in his hands. It had about twelve holes in it, most likely finger holes, something that looked like a mouthpiece, and had a metallic look to it. It's shape was a different story. It kinda looked like a dragon tooth.
"It's a Dragon Tooth Ocarina!" His mom said. "I wanted to give it too you before we left so you could learn how to play it, and when you get to Equestria, I want you to show us how good you've gotten at it!" She said as she wrapped him up in a hug. She wasn't much taller then him. He was four hooves (feet) tall, while she was four hooves and six inches tall. His dad was as tall as a Unicorn can get, five hooves tall.
After a few seconds, she broke the hug and looked at Dark in the eye. "Now, before we go get the Waters and then head to the boat, I want you to promise me that you will behave you're best while staying with the Waters. Do you promise me?" She said, with a stern, but sad look in her eyes. His dad just chuckled.
"You can be so childish sometimes, honey." His dad said. "When have we ever gotten a complaint about him from the Waters before?" He asked her.
She sighed. "Never.." She answered. "I know they love having him around, and that he's in good hands, but... but I don't want to leave him here!" She said to him, which just got another chuckle out of him.
"You don't want to let your little colt go, do you?" He said, which made her sigh.
"No, I don't. I don't just want to leave him.." she said in a sad tone, to which Dark gave her a giant hug.
"Don't worry, mom. It's not like this is good by forever." He said, which formed a small smile on her face.
She hugged him back. "I know, I know." She said.
She glanced at the clock and a frown formed on her face. "Looks like we need to leave soon.." She said as she let Dark go.
"Well then, let's go get the Waters and get going!" His dad said.

When they got to the Waters, Dark's mother and father were greeted with a 'Bon Voyage' cake. Dusk's parents ran over to Dark's, while he and Dusk walked to each other.
Dusk messed with Dark's mane when the reached one another. "Hey, kiddo, how've you been?" Dusk asked.
"I've been good, Dusk. What about you?"
"I've been good too, kiddo. I think I got that assassin job I wanted in the bag." He said, which made Dark smile.
"Really?! That's awesome!"
"I know, right?"
"With all that training you've been doing, it's no wonder you'll get it!" Dark said, which made Dusk chuckle.
"Well, that and all the enchantments on my clothes and scythe that dad made."
Dark gave a sheepish smile. "Oh, right." Then a look went across Dark's face. "Hey, Dusk, what did that enchantment on the scythe do again? I know it made water cover the blade, but was that it?"
Dusk just chuckled. "No, Dark, that isn't what it does. What happens is, whenever something emotional happens to the user of the scythe, the element that they are best suited with covers the blade. So whenever that happens to me, water covers the blade, which means I am best suited with water and healing magic. If rock were to cover the blade, they are best suited with rock, and are good at defencive magic."
"Oohhhhh.." Dark said. "Okay, that's cool! Your dad sure is good at magic!" This just got another chuckle out of Dusk.
"Well, I think he should be. It is his talent, after all."
Dusk's father got their attention. "Well, it's time to go, boys! come on!"
"Wanna race?" Dusk asked.
Dark smiled. "You bet!"

When they got to the boat, Dark gave his parents one final goodbye hug before they got on the boat. As the boat set off, everyone who was at the docks started to wave and cheer the one's on the boat.
"Bye, Mr. and Mrs. Eclipse! We hope to hear from you later!" Dusk's mom yelled.
"Have a good journey!" His dad yelled.
"And don't worry, he's in great hands!" Dusk yelled.
"I LOVE YOU! SEE YOU LATER!" Dark yelled at the top of his lungs.
'And I hope to see you soon..' Dark thought to himself.
