Ride 01:A New World
Cardfight!! Vanguard, a game in which two fighter’s ethereal bodies clash in great battles. It's one of Earth’s most popular card games, it has changed me in many ways, even saving me from myself and It has given me many great friends and rivals.
One thing it did expect though was to save a world entirely unlike Earth or Cray.
In Equestria...
A sunny day in equestria was not uncommon, not a cloud in the sky, ponies going about their daily lives in blissful ignorance of the events about to come to pass.
Then the skies went dark with gray clouds forming overhead, giant black rings appeared in the skies over the world.
Then, from those rings, white, black and red monsters emerged and attacked helpless ponies without mercy.
A tall white pony with long white wings, a long sharp horn, and long flowing rainbow mane and tail, entered the battle, launching magical energy out of her horn at the monsters. The creatures took the blast and seemed to be unphased by it.
One of monsters then attacked the pony knocking her to the ground. She was heavily injured with many cuts leaking blood out of her body and as she tries to get up she see's a huge group of ponies walking up to her.
Before she could smile at the sight of all the ponies, she sees that they all have red marks on their faces, emerging from their lower eyelids and down their cheeks in the shapes of blades, their rears have similar marks. As they approached her, she saw the malicious looks on their faces. She could only have horrified look on her face, as the ponies started to cover her and consume her, all went black as she could only hear one thing.
"LINK JOKER"
The white pony woke up from her sleep, drenched in a cold sweat with a terrified look on her face. She got off her bed, and walked over to her window that was in her room. Looking out to the vast land that was her kingdom, the birds flying in the air pegasi in the air. Ponies living their normal lives talking and laughing with each other.
"Something's coming, I need to stop it" she said with a determined look on her face.
Meanwhile on earth...
Many cardfights are happening all around the world, but one involving a specific person drew people in, It was happening in a card shop in japan,Card Capital. It was between one young man wearing a white jacket, who had blue hair vs another, with red hair and was wearing black suit jacket with a red outlines.
"You ready, Aichi? LEGION ATTACK!!!" shouted the red haired kid, while two huge dragons on a different planet charge at a tall silver dragon with yellow energy wings.
"Twin drive first check, nothing" the boy said while turning the top card of his deck over, "second check, critical trigger, all of the effects go to my vanguard" he said while revealing the second card, it having a yellow border.
The two dragons charged preparing to attack, landing a successful hit.
“Damage check, the first, no trigger, the second…” he flips the next card “a heal trigger,
"Gah, turn end" stated the red hair kid gritting his teeth.
"I stand and draw" declared Aichi, with a confident look on his face, he turns the cards on his board straight and takes the top of and put it into his hand, "SEEK MATE!" as he said this, four cards in his drop zone move to the the top of his deck, then a silver lining appear on all of the cards in his until one comes flying out into his hand. "Friendship is in our hands" Aichi chanted, "our bond is in this soul, line up my avatars, LEGION" as he finished saying that he placed a card right next to his vanguard forming a combined image.
A knight in white armor appeared right next to the silver dragon. The knight had a white broad sword, and wore white armor with light blue line in the armor. They stood tall, with both the dragon and the knight looking at the opponent's dragons with no fear.
"Legion attack" as Aichi said those words the white knight charged at the dragons, will the silver dragon charged up a yellow energy attack.
"I guard" the red hair boy said flashing two cards in front of Aichi.
On the battlefield two new creatures appeared in front of the knight and dragon, preparing to block the attack.
"Twin Drive, first check" Aichi said flipping over the top card of his deck, "critical trigger, all effects to my vanguard. Second check nothing" as Aichi flipped over his third card, The knight then slashed through the other units and cut the two dragons, then the silver dragon shot it's energy blast causing a giant explosion around the two dragons.
"Damage check" stated the kid with a grin, turning over the top two cards of his deck and, with a sigh, puts the cards into his damage zone, putting him at six.
The game was over and Aichi was victorious.
"That was awesome, Aichi good game" said the defeated kid with a lot of enthusiasm.
"You too, Naoki, you’re stronger than ever" compliment Aichi.
"Brother, that was awesome" came a very happy voice from a kid with tall spiky hair.
He was watching the whole game cheering on both of them, but especially Aichi.
"You and me next brother, I have some new cards I want to try”
"That won't be happening" came a mature voice from the front of the shop, The man was tall with green eyes, he had spiky brown hair that went back and in the front two threads of his hair from an ‘X’ between his eyes, He wore light brown pants a black coat that was buttoned up in the middle, he also had red scarf around his neck. He slowly walked to the table where Aichi was and stood there for a few moments.
"Hey Kai, what brings you here? Last time I checked you were in Europe with Gaillard" asked Naoki. But Kai only stared at Aichi, with one thing on his mind. "Aichi. you. me. cardfight, now" said Kai in a calm voice.
Meanwhile, in Equestria...
Princess Celestia was searching through the royal canterlot library for a book that would tell her more about the supposed threat.
With her, there was another pony helping her search, She was smaller than Celestia but had the same type of body, She looked to be the embodiment of the night itself, with a dark and flowing spectrum of the night sky for a mane and tail.
"Tia, what are we looking for again?" asked the dark blue pony, slowly pulling books out to check the name, then putting them back, repeating this over and over.
"We're looking for anything that can tell use about Link Joker" said Celestia remembering her dream from last night, How everything she tried failed against the monsters and how she was consumed by darkness. "If we find something, it could tell us how to defeat them."
The two looked for a few more hours, checking every book in the room.
"Tia, I think I found something" said the dark blue pulling out one of the book. The white pony flew over to the dark blue pony, to check the book.
"Let me see" said Celestia as she took the book from the dark blue pony.
The book was a brown with a dull brown border. In the middle was uniquely designed blue ring that broken up by multiple different shapes. The title of the book was write in bold letter's, "Vanguard".
Celestia did not know what compelled her, but she started to look through the book, She eventually stopped at one chapter that was named "Link Joker".
She started to read through it and everything that happened in her dream was similar to what the book depicted of Link Joker, everything to the designs of the monster to the way the ponies acted. "We found what we have been looking for" said Celestia with a stern face.
Back on Earth...
Aichi and Kai were preparing to cardfight while Naoki and the young kid sat down at near by table, The two cardfighters were shuffling their own respective decks while one card remained face down in the Vanguard circle.
"Who does Kai think he is? Showing up out of nowhere a challenging brother to a cardfight" complained the kid quietly so Kai would not hear.
"Kamui, don't worry about that. This is Kai we’re talking about here, you know how those two are" said Naoki, relaxed, thinking about Kai and Aichi’s other, more dangerous cardfights.
"Gah" was all that could come out of Kamui mouth, as he gritted his teeth.
The two cardfighters were done shuffling their deck and placed them in their deck.
They then drew the top five cards of their decks and put them in their hand. "Kai, are you ready?" asked Aichi.
"Yeah" replied Kai with a calm voice.
In Equestria...
"Luna I think I found a spell that could help us fight Link Joker" said Celestia, calling for her sister, The dark blue pony then enter the throne room where her sister was. "What does the spell do, Tia?" Luna asked.
"I believe this spell will call warriors from a different world, that can defeat Link Joker" Celestia said reading the book.
"What if these warriors aren't capable of defeating this threat?" questioned Luna.
"That book says that the warrior would have to be capable of defeating it" answered Celestia.
"It seems like quite the risk to summon outsiders, what if they’re dangerous?" asked a worried Luna.
"It's a risk we will have to take in order to save Equestria and prevent it’s destruction" stated Celestia.
Celestia used her magic to levitate the book in front of her as she began to recite the incantation.
"from the far reaches of space, mighty warriors stand lending their forces with great skill". Her eye's and horn started to glow a light yellow, "help us in our time of need and purge our world of this evil force".
On earth when this is all happening...
Kai and Aichi were ready to start their game, both having intense fires in their eyes.
They each had one of their hands on their card in middle line between them, preparing to turn it over.
"Stand Up" both of them said in unison with each one take their one card in to the air.
"The" added Kai.
"Come forth and be this world’s..." chanting Celestia in Equestria.
"VANGUARD!
"
Declared Kai and Aichi in unison with Celestia’s chant at the same time, before slamming their card into their respective Vanguard circle.
Suddenly a glaring gold light surrounded both Aichi and Kai, blinding everyone in the shop. When the light was gone so was Aichi and Kai, along with their cards.
"BROTHER?!" Screamed Kamui realizing that he had disappeared.
"What just happened?!" Naoki asked himself, now boggled at what happened.
(In the throne room of Canterlot Castle)
A giant golden ring appeared above the throne causing a bright flash to engulf the room. "Aagh" came the screams of ponies falling from out of the ring on to the floor of the throne room. Lying down in the middle of the throne was four unconscious multi colored ponies, wearing clothes.
"Was that supposed to happen Tia?" Luna asked a little confused on what just happened.
After a few moments of lying there the four started to wake up. They were getting up weakly, but one of began to talk.
"Kai?" Aichi began with his vision slightly blurred looking straight ahead to see the other multi colored ponies around him. He then came to the sudden realization after looking at his hand, to not see hands, "HORSES!?" he screamed now taking in everything.

"What happened? Weren't we cardfighting Kai?" asked Aichi in a shocked tone.
"I don't know Aichi, but it seems to be important" answered Kai, now with a curious tone.
"I agree the wind tells me that we are needed" added a new commanding voice.
"Well this should be fun then" came a more playful yet creepy voice.
"Leon!, Ren!" Aichi now more confused, "What is happening!?"
